Stepping out of the tent, Rina adjusted her uniform, masking the tension twisting in her gut. Viper. Serum. Augments. This was above standard smuggler business this was dangerous.
She spotted Briggs, leaning against a comms post, sipping coffee like the world was fine.
She walked up, voice low but casual.
"Hey, life-saver," she smirked, nodding to his cup.
"Need you to pull something for me."
Briggs arched a brow, already knowing this was Captain Hunter Mode.
"What's up?"
"Viper. Whatever we've got files, rumors, back-alley whispers I want it. Full spread."
His brows furrowed.
"That's heavy. You get a lead?"
Rina gave a half-nod, eyes drifting back toward the tent.
"Yeah… and it's not the small-time kind. Serum-level shit."
Briggs let out a low whistle.
"Copy that, Captain. I'll dig."
She patted his shoulder.
"Appreciate you. Get me something before this snake slithers off."
As he moved toward the data hub, Rina stayed back for a moment eyes on the border checkpoint.
The city looked normal… but she knew better.
Something was crawling under its skin.
And she was about to rip it out.
