The Dreaded Grocery Run

After a while, their conversation drifted back into easy banter, work talk turning into random jokes.

Briggs stretched, checking the time."Well, looks like we're getting out early today. A rare miracle."

Rina smirked. "A miracle? No. A trap? Probably."

Briggs laughed. "Paranoid much?"

She grabbed her jacket. "Nah, just experienced. But since I'm free, I gotta hit the store. My fridge is looking real sad."

Briggs raised a brow. "You? Grocery shopping? I thought you survived purely on caffeine and spite."

Rina grinned. "Usually, yeah. But even I can't live off takeout forever. So unless you're offering to meal prep for me, I gotta do this."

Briggs held up his hands. "I'd rather take on a riot than figure out your diet."

Rina laughed, shaking her head. "Smart choice." Then, tossing a lazy salute, she added, "See you tomorrow, hero."

And with that, she headed out, mentally preparing for her next battle the grocery store.
