Rina lunged. Fast, precise, years of combat training in every movement. A solid punch aimed straight for Sybil's jaw.
But it never connected.
An invisible force slammed into her midair, stopping her like she'd hit a brick wall. She barely had time to react before she was flung backward, crashing hard against the pavement.
Damn.
She gritted her teeth, pushing herself up. No weapons, no powers. Just pure skill. But against someone like Sybil, skill alone wasn't enough.
Sybil laughed, walking toward her. "Captain Hunter, I expected better." She lifted a hand, and Rina felt an unbearable pressure wrap around her throat.
Her feet lifted off the ground.
Air she couldn't breathe.
Sybil's smirk widened. "You're not as tough as they say."
Rina struggled, gripping at nothing, her vision blurring. She needed a plan. Fast.
