I quickly grabbed Mikey's arm with a speed that left no room for discussion.
My voice trembled as I hissed, "Let's get out of here, now."
The club's neon lights flickered across his face.
He looked puzzled, and even though his eyes searched mine for answers, he didn't argue.
"What's wrong?" he asked after a while, his voice barely cutting through the pulsating beats that filled the air.
I didn't have the luxury of time for an explanation so I continued my exit, while holding on to him and trying to push the sweaty bodies and make way for us.
The sounds of the heavy music, the laughter and the indistinct chatter, swirled around us, merging into a noise that only did nothing but heighten my anxiety.
I successfully pulled Mikey through the maze of bodies.
We finally made it through the exit and the air outside was cooler, yet it did little to ease the heat of panic coursing through my veins.
