Whispers of  the heart

John called his friend. "Are you ready for our

dinner? Our reservation is for 6 PM. Don't forget to keep a low profile."

"Oh yeah, I'm ready to go. I just left the

office and I'm heading home. I'll meet you at The Moon," Thorndike replied.

He tried to sound casual, but the truth was, he

couldn't stop thinking about Blue. Ever since the wedding, she had been on his mind more than he cared to admit. There was something about her—the way she smiled, the way she carried herself with quiet confidence. It was… different. And for the first time in a long while, he found himself looking forward to seeing someone again.

When Blue and Julie arrived at The Moon, John and Thorndike were already waiting. As Blue stepped inside, Thorndike felt an unexpected rush of excitement.

"You look beautiful," he told her without

thinking.

Blue giggled softly. "And you're handsome."

The dinner went smoothly. Thorndike found

himself drawn to Blue's laughter, her voice, the way she spoke about her experiences in Paris. It wasn't love at first sight, but there was something undeniable between them—an unspoken curiosity, a pull that neither of them seemed to understand just yet.

As the evening went on, Thorndike barely

noticed time passing. He was too caught up in the way Blue's eyes sparkled when

she spoke, the way she absentmindedly played with the edge of her napkin while

listening to Julie talk.

By the time the dinner ended, John turned to

Thorndike with a smirk. "I see you two got along well."

Thorndike didn't reply, but the small smile on

his face said everything.

Later That Night…

When he got home, Thorndike went straight to his mother.

"Mother, I've found her," he said, excitement

barely contained in his voice.

Lily looked up from her book, raising a curious

brow. "Found who?"

"She's just like you—kind, elegant. Her name is Blue, and I think… I think I want to get to know her better."

Lily smiled. "Blue, you say? And where is she

from?"

"She grew up in Paris but is originally from

Chuchu Town."

Lily's expression softened. "And who are her

parents?"

Thorndike hesitated. "I don't know yet. But I

want to. I've never felt this way before, Mother."

Lily chuckled. "Oh, my dear boy, you sound just like your father when he first spoke of me." She reached out, cupping his face

in her hands. "If you truly feel this way, then invite her over. Let us meet her properly."

His face brightened. "Really?"

"Of course. But remember, love isn't something you rush. Take your time to truly know her."

Thorndike nodded, feeling lighter than he had

in days. The thought of Blue meeting his family filled him with anticipation. He picked up his phone and dialed her number.

"Hello, love," he greeted.

Blue's soft laugh came through the receiver.

"Love? That's a new one."

He grinned. "My parents want to meet you."

There was a pause. Then, she spoke, excitement laced in her tone. "Really? That's great! When?"

"I'll come get you tomorrow," he said.

"Okay, I can't wait."

As they said their goodbyes, Thorndike sat

back, staring at his ceiling. For the first time in a long while, he felt something unfamiliar—hope.
