My eyes opened, I felt great, my mind was as sharp as it had been yesterday during school, my body felt full of energy and ready to move, and last night's tiredness was gone.

Before I had even noticed I had already gotten up and changed my clothes that I could use to train, if I had these powers, I at least had to use every chance I could to exploit them, they give me the potential and the willingness to train, I just have to do it.

By sneaking away from my room and not waking up, Kurt netted me a level in Stealth and a point in Dex.

The mansion was silent—okay, maybe not so silent, as several people were making enough noise while sleeping that they sounded like grenades—but aside from those people, no one seemed to be up just yet.

Going outside, I took a big breath of fresh, cold air, which made my lunges feel brand new. I stretched for 10 minutes and then started running.

It was strange, feeling like I had to do something or I would go crazy., I had never felt like this. The only thing that even remotely comes close to this is when I want to play a new game or when I listen to a new album, but nothing could be compared to this sensation. Being aware of your growth, that you are changing for the better, that you are becoming better, feels amazing.

I turned it up to 70%, and Trough the Fire and Flames by DragonForce started playing, giving me even more energy to continue my run.

When my SP went below half my muscles hurt, my lungs burned, and the coldness of the air felt like knives against my skin, but I had never felt more alive in my life, maybe these powers were changing me, making me something I wasn't before, but was it seriously that bad? To make me wish to change and become better, was it seriously that bad? Aren't these powers just a part of me? What if that part is the one that has wished for me to change right from the beginning? What if-

My train of thought stopped, and only now realizing how much my lunges were burning because of the cold hair, I decided to lay near a tree, sitting cross-legged, ed and started meditating. The pain didn't help clear my mind, so it took a minute for it to start working, but when it did, I had to rest just for 9 minutes before my body felt like new again.

When I opened my eyes, I was ready to start training my blunt damage resistance, but fate seemed to have other plans for me.

"Couldn't sleep?" A rough voice said after I opened my eyes.

It's Logan, the guy who is supposed to teach us how to fight this afternoon if there is one word I can use to describe is rough, or at least that's how he feels at first glance.

" No, it's my powers, it doesn't like those people that wake up too late, so it wakes me up at 6 o'clock every morning."

" You powers feel like a mother that nags their son to be better." 

" You have no idea," I said, getting up and heading for the nearby tree. Even though Logan was here, my need to grind my skills and stats hadn't disappeared.

He stayed silent, his eyes fixated on my movements. If I didn't know he was a "human," I would have felt like a beast was looking at me.

'That doesn't make me feel better.' I thought while smashing my fist against the tree, the notification of the damage I received telling me the effect of Blunt Damage Resistance was still in effect.

My punches still felt weak, and not knowing how to land a good punch slowed my progress, as I couldn't receive a bigger amount of damage. I hope today's training can help with this.

" Do you know how to land a punch kid?" Wolverine asked after he had been staring at me for a good minute.

" Then why are you even doing this?"

" My powers tell me that if I do for long enough my resistance against blunt damage will increase until I could theoretically become immune to it."

He stayed silent while I continued my training, maybe he is here to understand what my fighting level is, let's hope he understands I am just a newbie.

" Relax your fingers, hit with your knuckles first, keep your wrist straight, use your hips to push your hit forward, don't move your arm until the last seconds and instead use your shoulder, don't hit with your elbow fully extended, and push with your toes."

After saying that he just walked away, Logan's words might be useful, but this feels too much like those Chinese movies where the master teaches a secret technique and then disappears with the wind.

'Toe, hip, shoulder, arm.' I repeated the movements without actually hitting the tree for a few seconds and then used his instructions to land a hit, the results were visible.

' Are my powers telling me that fighting is the faster way to grow or is it just my impression?'

Taking a look at the time, I noticed I still had half an hour before breakfast, so I decided to take advantage of this time to improve what Logan had taught, which I now knew was named a straight and switched up with its faster counterpart named jab, also trying to imagine that the tree was someone throwing punches at me to work on my dodging and footwork.

Seeing my progress feels incredible, knowing that I am improving and that I am changing for something better makes the pain and exhaustion feel like nothing more than a temporary inconvenience.

But I will stop for now, though I am not hungry, I could kill for some bacon right now.
