My name is Lunara, and I live with a curse. Everyone I love ends up with a tragic death. I lost my best friend, Anna, when I was 10, and then my aunt when I was 12. People believe I bring disaster. I am avoided, feared, and even abandoned by my own family.

Now, I am 17 and sitting in high school. As usual, I walk alone down the hallways, with no friends, no one wanting to come near me. I am used to the fearful glances and the whispers that always mention my name with dread.

But that day was different.

In class, a new student walked in. She was incredibly beautiful—her long hair shimmered, and her eyes were like the moon shining in the dark.

Her name was Selene.

When she saw the empty seat next to me, without hesitation, she sat down.

The class fell silent. All eyes were on us. Whispers began to circulate.

"Why is she sitting next to Lunara?""Doesn't she know about the curse?""She'll die if she stays close to Lunara!"

But Selene didn't care. She turned to me and smiled.

"Hi, I'm Selene. What's your name?"

I was surprised. It had been so long since anyone had spoken to me like that. I answered quietly,

"Lunara."

From that day on, we became close friends. We were always together—studying, eating, even walking home. For the first time in so long, I wasn't alone anymore.

However, that happiness didn't last long.

Our world changed when the fox demon clan came to dominate humans. They didn't just take over the city, but also set a terrifying rule:

"Every month, humans must surrender one young girl to us. If not, the entire human clan will be destroyed."

No one knew what happened to the girls after they were handed over. They were taken and never returned.

Fear swept over everyone. To save themselves, humans followed the fox demon clan's orders. Every month's end, one girl was sacrificed, and the fox demons kept their promise not to destroy the human clan.
