Stepping out of the study, I walked slowly towards Kellan, looking down at him imperiously.
"Kellan, I've paid the money for their family."
Hearing my words, Garrison instantly shot me a grateful look.
"However..." I suddenly changed my tone, drawing out the word.
"I have one condition."
Kellan was pinned to the couch, unable to move at all.
"Bram, I never thought you'd be such a hopeless romantic," he sneered with a contemptuous laugh.
"What's your condition? Go ahead, say it."
I pointed to the phone on the table and said, "Call your accomplice. Let us hear Xanthe's voice."
He probably didn't expect me to make such a simple request, agreeing without a second thought.
"Fine, fine. Make the call," he said, likely thinking I was still worried about Xanthe's safety, and taunted,
"Don't worry, your darling is fine. She's just temporarily unconscious, that's all."
With that, in front of everyone, he dialed the kidnapper's number.
