"How can she be this strong...?"
"This woman might be able to break my ribs with a single punch."
"It could be dangerous if I make an enemy of her."
Glenn murmured to himself.
"Round 2 will begin soon!"
A voice called out.
"Eh...?"
Glenn was confused.
This time, Froslova lunged forward quickly.
Then—
"Bwack!"
"Bwack!"
They began a battle of strength. At first, Glenn was pleased as he cornered his opponent.
But this woman's strength was not to be underestimated.
The strength contest was won by Froslova, who immediately lifted Glenn and threw him away.
Glenn was thrown quite a distance, but he managed to land with only a few minor injuries.
"Execute!"
Suddenly, Glenn appeared behind Froslova.
"Cross Slash!"
Glenn shouted.
He delivered a cross-slash, managing to lightly wound Froslova's arm.
Froslova was only slightly hurt, as she blocked the slash with her hand.
Glenn quickly jumped back, anticipating a counterattack.
Froslova clenched her fist with enthusiasm, clearly enjoying the fight.
"Ex - Champion Bang."
*Note:* "Execute" is the full command to use a skill.
"Ex" is a half command to activate a skill. Some skills can also be activated without commands.
"Ex - Champion Bang!"
With a single straight punch to Glenn's stomach, Froslova dealt a fatal blow.
"Brakk!"
Glenn's body was thrown far, crashing through a wall.
The fight was over. The winner was Froslova, which meant Glenn's plan was completely destroyed.
After the fight, Glenn was treated by Froslova at her home.
Glenn's body was in a fragile state. If he tried to leave while his injuries hadn't healed, he would surely not survive.
Glenn was cared for for several days.
Meanwhile, the situation in Abert City became tense as they had lost an important member of this new battalion.
This caused a vacancy in the ranks. Though it wasn't too impactful, there were a few people who were deeply concerned.
The captain of the main division ordered everyone to remain calm and carry on with their tasks as usual.
However, Dale and Linya believed they had to find Glenn immediately. Dale felt a bit guilty for leaving Glenn behind.
Dungeon management for the week was also disrupted due to Linya's absence.
The main captain decided to temporarily close the dungeon until Linya returned.
The captain had considered sending more people to track down Linya, but there were new reports coming in from either their own area or from other cities.
This caused their tasks to pile up.
Moreover, the reports were not just one but many. So, the captain chose this course of action.
Linya, Dale, and one more person, Arrosa, were the right-hand team of Battalion Gorria.
Arrosa was calm but strategic, perfect for handling danger in a remote city.
The three of them set out to search for Glenn.
Back in Aux City,
Aux was a chaotic city, where the police ignored the law, and the only rule that applied was "an eye for an eye."
That's why, while Glenn was being treated by Froslova at her home, he often heard sounds of things being thrown from the window.
The noise and commotion were constant, with sirens blaring frequently.
Every day, Glenn watched from the window as Froslova and her battalion fought criminals outside.
Glenn couldn't relax.
He was determined to leave, planning to escape quietly.
But then—
"Bzzztt…"
Glenn was shocked as his body felt like it was being electrocuted.
Every time Glenn tried to take a step out of the house, he was hit by a powerful jolt, and after only three attempts, Glenn collapsed.
He realized he couldn't leave.
He briefly considered using Weld's teleportation, but decided against it.
When Froslova returned, she found Glenn in a state of shock.
"What happened to you?"
She asked, her expression full of concern.
Glenn, weak and laying on the floor, could only manage a faint smile. "I just wanted to leave…"
Froslova carefully placed him back on the bed.
"This must be the captain's doing. It wasn't necessary for him to go this far."
She sighed, frustrated.
Glenn managed to open his eyes, hoping that Froslova would set him free.
But that didn't happen.
Five days passed, and Glenn was still confined in Froslova's house.
He felt increasingly restless and could no longer bear being trapped.
Finally, Glenn made one last attempt to use Weld's teleportation.
However, the attempt backfired, causing the device around his neck to explode.
"Bzzzzzzt! Bzzzzzzt!"
A powerful electromagnetic blast surged through the room.
"Ghhggg…"
Glenn gasped for air, then collapsed unconscious on the floor.
After the small explosion, Glenn's body fell helplessly to the ground.
Froslova, who had just returned from a patrol, was shocked to see Glenn lying on the floor, smoke rising from his neck.
She quickly approached and checked on him, hearing the explosion from outside.
Without hesitation, she ran inside and found Glenn struggling to breathe.
"Glenn!" she cried, rushing to his side.
Froslova carefully lifted him and placed him back on the bed.
Glenn, still weak, slowly opened his eyes. "What... happened...?" his voice was hoarse.
Froslova took a deep breath and looked at him seriously. "Glenn, you've tried to escape too many times. You don't even understand what you're up against."
Glenn smiled weakly despite the pain. "I just want to leave, Froslova. I can't stand being locked up here. I can't just stay like this."
Froslova sighed, stepping back and examining the device around Glenn's neck. "This isn't just your problem. The captain is worried you'll run into more dangerous places, and he thinks this is the only way to keep an eye on you."
Glenn tried to endure the pain, feeling the pressure in his chest growing. "But... I..."
"Do you really think you can fight all of this in your current state?" Froslova touched her temple, anxious. "This isn't just about you. There's a lot going on out there. If you keep acting recklessly, you'll make things worse."
Glenn fell silent, his eyes scanning the room. The noise from outside, the ongoing chaos, reminded him that the world was still turning, indifferent to what was happening to him.
"No one knows what's coming next," he murmured, still lying with his tired body. "But I... I will find a way out."
Froslova paused, then stared at Glenn with her sharp blue eyes. She looked confused, but deep down, she knew Glenn would never be at peace here. This man had too much determination to be confined.
"If you want to leave this badly, you need to plan everything carefully. You can't do this alone, Glenn."
Glenn weakly nodded, realizing there was truth in her words. "I... I will wait."
Froslova stood, her face showing a hint of doubt. "You need to calm down. Don't try anything crazy again, okay?"
Glenn asked, "Why do you care so much about me?"
Froslova responded,
"You're my guest," she said. "And I'm responsible for protecting you. Besides..." Froslova hesitated for a moment, "I'm also assigned to watch over you."
Glenn remained silent. He knew Froslova was right. He wasn't from Aux, and yet... he knew he couldn't stay forever in here.
Glenn asked, "Why do you care so much about me?"
Froslova replied, "You are my guest," she said, "and I am responsible for protecting you. Besides..." She paused for a moment. "I was also assigned to keep an eye on you."
Glenn fell silent. He knew Froslova was right. He wasn't from Aux. But he also knew he couldn't stay here forever.
He raised his hand as if to signal agreement, though his mind was already busy planning his next move. Yet, in that brief silence, he realized the world waiting outside was far more complicated than he had imagined.
Meanwhile, in the city of Abert, Dale, Linya, and Arrosa grew more anxious. They had searched through streets and alleys, questioned locals, but no one had seen Glenn.
"We have to look further," Dale said. "Glenn has to be somewhere."
"But we don't know where to look," Linya replied. "This city is too big."
"We'll split up," Arrosa suggested. "Dale and Linya, you check the slums. I'll search around the merchant district. We'll meet back at the city gate at sunset."
The three parted ways, each determined to find Glenn.
Dale and Linya navigated the narrow, dirty alleyways, questioning whoever they came across. They saw all kinds of people—thieves, swindlers, street vendors, and beggars.
Arrosa, with her composed and polite demeanor, blended more easily with the merchants in the marketplace. She inquired about any strangers who might have looked strong or suspicious.
As the sun began to set, Dale, Linya, and Arrosa regrouped at the city gate. They hadn't found Glenn.
"We can't give up," Dale said. "We'll keep looking."
"We'll come back tomorrow," Linya said. "And we'll search even harder."
Arrosa nodded in agreement. She knew Glenn was important, and they wouldn't stop until they found him.
