Ryo sat at his study desk, his eyes staring blankly at the open books in front of him. The big exam he had prepared for years was drawing closer, and he knew his time to study was running out. Yet, the growing feelings he had for Mika, Ayumi, and Haruka disrupted every moment he spent reviewing his study materials. The three girls, each in their own way, had given him more attention than he ever expected, and now he felt trapped in his own confusion.
"Ryo… you've made your decision, haven't you?"
The voice suddenly came from behind, and Ryo turned around. It was Haruka, her face as calm as ever. She seemed to know that Ryo was struggling with his emotions and thoughts.
Ryo let out a sigh and looked at Haruka. "I… I don't know, Haruka. I feel stuck between chasing my dream and the feelings that keep getting stronger for them. I don't want to lose this big opportunity, but at the same time, I feel drawn to them—especially Mika."
Haruka sat down in a chair near Ryo's desk, gazing at him with a serious yet understanding look. "Mika, Ayumi, and I… we all know how focused you are on your goal. We don't want to stand in your way. But you have to realize that your life isn't just about exams. We're here because we care about you, Ryo. There's nothing wrong with opening your heart and considering these feelings."
Ryo lowered his gaze, feeling uneasy. Haruka's words were painfully accurate. These emotions—this newfound affection—were not something he was used to dealing with. From the very beginning, he had always distanced himself from social life, choosing instead to focus on studying and achieving his dream. But now, everything was changing, and he felt more lost than ever.
"I'm scared, Haruka," Ryo said in a low voice. "I'm scared that if I choose this relationship, I'll end up neglecting the goal I've been working toward for so long. But at the same time, I can't ignore how I feel about them… especially Mika."
Haruka gave a small smile and nodded. "You don't have to shut your heart, Ryo. Our hearts have room for more than one thing. But you need to find balance. You have to know when to focus on your dreams and when to open yourself to the relationships growing around you."
Ryo felt a slight relief after hearing Haruka's words. "So… what should I do?"
Haruka looked at him with a serious expression. "Life is about choosing the right steps. If you believe that your goal truly matters, then keep fighting for it. But don't completely shut yourself off from the people who care about you. Sometimes, love and ambition can go hand in hand—as long as you find the right balance."
Ryo looked at Haruka with gratitude. His decision was starting to become clearer. His dream remained important, but he also didn't want to close himself off from the people who had been there for him. For the first time, he felt that he could do both—keep chasing his dreams while also embracing the emotions growing inside him.
That day, Ryo decided to speak to Mika, Ayumi, and Haruka. He had to confront his feelings and let them know how he truly felt. The three girls had given him enough care and support, each in their own way, helping him realize the path he needed to take.
That night, after studying for a few hours, Ryo went back to the school garden—his usual place of escape. Sitting on the bench, he waited for the three girls to arrive. He knew that, no matter what happened, he had to face his emotions and choose the path that was right for him.
Before long, Mika arrived first, walking toward the bench with light steps. "Ryo, I know you must be feeling pressured," she said gently, "but I want you to know that I'm here, no matter what happens. I just want you to be happy."
Ryo looked at her with gratitude. "Mika, I… I've thought everything through. I don't want to stay confused any longer. I'll keep focusing on my exams, but I also want to be more open about these relationships. I don't want to miss the chance to get closer to you… and the others."
Mika smiled softly. "I understand, Ryo. I'll always support you, no matter what you decide. The most important thing is that you're happy with your choice."
Soon after, Ayumi and Haruka joined them. Ayumi, as cheerful as always, sat beside Ryo with a wide grin. "So, you've finally made up your mind, huh?" she said playfully. "I knew you could do it, Ryo."
Haruka nodded with a small smile. "This decision came from your heart, Ryo. What matters now is walking this path with confidence."
Ryo nodded, feeling lighter than before. For the first time, he felt that he had made the right decision. His dream remained his top priority, but the people who cared about him were also part of his journey.
