Chapter 22: A New World

The first day of university had finally arrived. Ryo walked toward the campus with steady steps, though a lingering sense of anxiety clung to his heart. The dream university he had worked so hard for was now a reality. However, he knew that this was only the beginning of a much longer and more challenging journey. From this moment on, his life would change.

Upon arriving at the campus, Ryo was taken aback by how much larger it was than he had imagined. Towering buildings, bustling hallways, and various activities happening all around made him feel like a small fish in a vast ocean. Even so, he couldn't deny the excitement and enthusiasm welling up inside him.

As Ryo entered the main building for the new student orientation, he spotted Mika, Ayumi, and Haruka waiting for him at the entrance. The three of them smiled upon seeing him.

"Ryo! We finally made it!" Ayumi exclaimed excitedly. "I can't wait to start this adventure!"

Ryo chuckled, feeling a little more at ease with his friends around. "Me too, Ayumi. But honestly, I'm a bit nervous. Everything feels so new to me."

Mika gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Ryo. We'll get through this together. I'm sure you'll find your place here in no time."

Haruka, who appeared calm as always, added wisely, "No one feels comfortable in a new place right away. But as long as we stick together and support each other, we'll be able to face anything."

Ryo felt a wave of relief wash over him at their words. He knew that university life would be filled with challenges and new experiences, but he felt more prepared knowing that he could share this journey with his friends.

During the orientation, the new students were given an introduction to campus activities, facilities, and, of course, tips on how to adjust to university life, which was vastly different from high school. Ryo felt a bit overwhelmed by the flood of information, but he knew that adapting was part of the process.

Between orientation sessions, Ryo recalled Mika's words about social life. It wasn't just about academics—it was also about how he would build relationships with new friends at university. While he had initially come with a strong focus on his academic goals, he now realized that campus life would also shape his personal growth in many ways.

Before they split up for their next orientation activities, Ayumi suggested they visit the campus café after everything was over. "Come on, let's relax after all this orientation! We need to explore the campus and find our favorite hangout spots!"

Ryo smiled, feeling more at ease with his friends at his side. Though this was the beginning of a new and challenging chapter, he felt ready to face it all—because he knew he wasn't alone.
