Arrival at Chaos City

Upon hearing this, Ronald froze for a moment before suddenly bursting into laughter, laughing so hard that he nearly toppled over!

Liu Qinghan glanced over at him with her bright eyes, while Liu Chen looked on in surprise.

Still chuckling, Ronald asked, "Liu, what do you think of this lake?"

Liu Chen paused, then replied, "It's indeed beautiful."

Ronald pointed toward the distant green mountains and asked, "And those mountains?"

"They're quite majestic."

Nodding in approval, Ronald looked up at the vast blue sky and laughed loudly, "Such a great land! A truly magnificent land!"

Liu Chen furrowed his brow but quickly caught on. He too broke into laughter, his voice echoing in the air. "Yes, indeed! Truly a magnificent land!"

Liu Qinghan, hearing their conversation, watched them silently, her cold eyes flashing with a faint glimmer.

A day later, there was a loud explosion on the Yun Cang River.

Liu Chen glanced at the belly-up monster fish with a hint of awe. "Brother Li, your mortar is quite impressive. Most people avoid magical beasts, but you seem to specialize in hunting water monsters."

By now, the two had become quite familiar with each other. Ronald laughed heartily, "With you and the young lady providing support, I'm emboldened to act freely. Otherwise, I'd have been forced to retreat in defeat."

The journey down the Yun Cang River continued smoothly. They dealt with any magical beasts that appeared along the way, and after ten days of travel, a large city appeared on the horizon.

Chaos City had finally arrived!

Since the ironclad ship was somewhat conspicuous, Ronald decided to anchor it in a more secluded area before disembarking.

As he looked at the cargo piled up on the deck, Ronald was about to ask everyone to help unload when Liu Chen handed him a slip of paper. "Brother Li, we've shared many enjoyable talks these past days. I consider us friends."

"This is a one-time storage talisman crafted by a human artifact master. I'm giving it to you. My sister and I have some matters to attend to, so we'll be parting ways here."

Ronald didn't hesitate, taking the storage talisman and cupping his hands in thanks. "Since you have business to attend to, we'll meet again in the city."

Liu Chen smiled, shaking his head as he explained how to use the talisman, then said his goodbyes. In a few swift movements, he disappeared from sight.

Liu Qinghan also nodded slightly, a silent farewell, before transforming into a streak of white light and vanishing from view.

"That..."

Liu Chen had moved quickly, but Ronald had at least seen him make a few leaps. Liu Qinghan, however, had turned into a streak of white light and flown off. Her speed was beyond his comprehension.

"Could she be an expert at the Soul Connection stage?" he wondered aloud.

He stared in the direction they had vanished, then, after a brief moment of silence, Ronald stored the cargo in the talisman and called out, "Hunter team, come with me! The water forces remain on standby!"

"Yes, Master!"

Chaos City.

The city sprawled across a vast area, its prosperity rivaling that of the Sun and Moon King City due to its unique geographical location. Currently, the city's ruler was from the Tiger Clan, named Li Feiyun.

The Tiger Clan was a profound-tier race, and rumors said that this man's strength had reached the peak of Body Refining. He was one of the top figures in Yunzhou, and even the Celestial Fox Clan, a tier-3 race, would think twice before provoking him.

This was why, despite its wealth and influence, Chaos City had never been overtaken.

However, the city's ruler was absorbed in his cultivation and had little interest in governing. As a result, the city had never been properly managed, and many forces outside the city fought amongst themselves, waging constant wars.

There was also a legend that beneath Chaos City lay an ancient demon sealed by the Gods after they defeated it. But that story was so old that it was impossible to verify, and despite the endless wars in the area, there had never been any confirmed sightings of demonic activity.
