CHAPTER 31

Chapter 31 – A Love That Feels Like Home

The world outside the penthouse was still, but inside, everything between them was shifting, deepening. Serena had never felt this way before—so completely consumed yet so undeniably at peace.

Elias held her as if she were something precious, his touch reverent, his gaze filled with something that made her breath catch.

Love.

It wasn't just a word between them anymore. It was a force, something undeniable and infinite, something that had always existed between them even when they had fought against it.

Now, there was no more fighting.

Only surrender.

---

A Slow-Burning Night

Elias led her through the dimly lit penthouse, his fingers laced with hers.

"Where are we going?" Serena whispered.

Elias glanced over his shoulder, smirking. "You'll see."

The anticipation curled in her stomach, but she trusted him.

He stopped in front of a door at the far end of the hallway, one she had never entered before. He pushed it open, revealing a breathtaking space—a private terrace hidden from the city, filled with warm string lights, a soft lounge chair, and a telescope pointed toward the sky.

Serena's lips parted in surprise. "You…you never told me about this."

Elias stepped behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Because it wasn't meant for anyone else."

Her heart flipped. "But you're sharing it with me?"

He turned her in his arms, brushing his fingers along her cheek. "You are the exception to every rule, Serena."

She swallowed the lump in her throat, overwhelmed by the depth of his words.

Elias reached for a blanket, draping it over their shoulders as they sat together on the lounge chair, the warmth of his body seeping into hers.

"I used to come here when I needed to think," he admitted. "Before you."

Serena tilted her head. "And now?"

Elias smiled, brushing his lips against her temple. "Now, you're the only thing I think about."

---

A Conversation Under the Stars

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, watching the stars twinkle above them.

Serena traced small circles on Elias's palm, her head resting against his shoulder.

"Tell me something," she murmured.

Elias chuckled. "That's usually my line."

Serena smiled, turning to look at him. "Humor me."

He exhaled, his gaze drifting toward the sky. "I used to believe love was just an illusion."

Serena stilled, watching him carefully.

"I thought it was something people clung to because they were afraid of being alone. I never thought it was real—until you."

Her breath caught.

Elias turned to her, his fingers threading through her hair. "You changed everything, Serena. You made me believe in something bigger than myself. You made me believe in us."

Serena's eyes burned with unshed tears.

"Elias…"

He cupped her face, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. "You are my heart, Serena. My past, my present, my future."

She pressed her forehead against his, her voice barely a whisper. "I don't know what I did to deserve you."

Elias's lips curled into a soft smile. "You existed."

And then he kissed her—slow and deep, a kiss that spoke of promises, of eternity, of love that would never fade.

---

A Night That Never Ends

They stayed on the terrace for what felt like hours, wrapped in each other, speaking in whispers and touches.

When the night grew colder, Elias pulled Serena to her feet.

"Come inside," he murmured.

Serena followed him without hesitation.

Inside, the world felt softer, the air charged with something indescribable.

Elias pulled her close, his hands framing her face as he kissed her again—this time, with unrestrained emotion.

Serena melted into him, her fingers curling around the fabric of his shirt, her heart pounding against his.

She had never felt safer.

Never felt more loved.

As Elias lifted her into his arms, carrying her toward the bedroom, she knew—this wasn't just a moment.

This was forever.

And she was ready for all of it.
