Liam's face went stone-cold.

He snatched his phone and dialed Ava's bodyguard. "I told you guys to keep tabs on Ava. Where the hell is she?"

The bodyguard replied, a little too respectfully, "Ma'am said you gave us a couple of days off. Said we were worn out, and that it was your call."

Liam's lips twisted into a thin, humorless smile. That sweet, always-agreeable woman was playing hardball now.

He snapped, "Where. Did. She. Go?"

The bodyguard, sensing the storm brewing, hedged, "She didn't say, sir."

Ten minutes later, the assistant called back, voice tight. "Sir, all the footage showing Mrs. Carter... it's been wiped."

Liam's grip on the phone tightened, like he was trying to crush it.
