Unexpected

Lying on the stretcher, Sophia's eyes were tightly shut. Her face was pale, and the safety helmet had already been removed.

With her hair falling messily over her forehead, it was hard to see how badly she'd been hurt.

Hartwell, upon seeing her wheeled out, dropped whatever was in his hands and rushed over, gripping her hand, shouting, "Sophia! Sophia!"

"Excuse us, please," a nurse said briskly, pushing the stretcher toward the emergency room.

Hartwell followed closely behind.

The results of the brain CT would take ten minutes.

Liam remained in the hallway, waiting for the results. After all, the accident had something to do with him.

Augustus, watching Sophia disappear down the corridor, spoke in a resentful tone, "You see how much Sophia cares about you? She risked her life to save you. If she hadn't blocked that for you, you'd be the one on that stretcher."

Liam said quietly, "I didn't ask her to."
