Chapter 25. Quiren Family

It was not everyday where you could witness a chopper in these regions. It was pretty obvious that there was a big shot in the area. From the distance, one could see the incoming chopper with the Quiren Family insignia on it.

They were all cultivators so they were all able to make it out from the distance. On the chopper was a image or rather say the insignia of the Quiren Family.

It was a peregrine falcon. From the insignia alone, one could tell that time was spent in its forging. One could also see the profoundness of the insignia which demanded one to acknowledge it.

The falcon seemed to be on the verge of perching on a tree branch with its wings flapped. It had its mouth open and one could almost hear it squawking. Even the chopper seemed to lose to it.

The chopper approached and it stopped around twenty meters away from the bench Athan and Calista were sitting on. Seeing the chopper, those around could not help but wonder who it was that caused the chopper to come.

It did not take long before they saw the two seated together. Athan was somehow familiar but they identfied Calista immediately. They could not believe that they had missed her presence.

But the guy seated next to her with a bare chest could not escape their scrutinized gazes. How dare he! But no one could do anything to them though or even come closer.

The chopper door opened and someone jumped even before it had landed completely. It was a guy about 20 or so years old. Everyone recognized him.

"Who else is qualified to come pick up the young Miss of the Quiren family if not the strongest of the family's younger generation?"

"The young Master Glen!"

"Its difficult to believe that he is not older than me with more than two years."

"Yet all we can is watch his silhouette."

"Geniuses are born."

"..."

The guy they called Glen was actually 20 years old. He was 6'2 and wearing brown glasses everytime. He was a guy who loved wearing suits like a young CEO.

He walked towards the two ignoring the whispers around him. After all, why should he care? Upon seeing him, Calista could not stop herself from standing up.

She then started running towards him and he stopped with his hands opened. She reached a certain distance and jumped as she bumped into him and tightened her arms around his neck.

Athan was caught off guard by her actions but he could understand the relationship between the two. He sighed and cleared those thoughts.

Glen did not hold back as he hugged her back not caring about the shutters from the cameras. It was very hard to keep a low profile when you were strong.

He lowered his glasses slightly and glanced at Athan and an amused smile appeared on his face. But it disappeared when he heard his sister sob and tears drop on his shoulder.

This was not a sight that could be filmed as lifted her from the ground and carried her into the chopper.

"Confiscate all cameras and delete everything," he said to a few guards who obliged despite the grumbling from those who had filmed everything.

"Lad, do you want me to carry you too?" Glen asked as helped her sister sit down. But she did not let go of his hand. "What happened? Did someone hurt you?" From his question, it was obvious that he was not well informed about what had happened and he came in a rush.

Athan reached the chopper and found her crying again and he sighed. He thought that she was already over it but it seemed it was not as easy as he thought for her.

"Was it him?" Glen asked and she nodded in agreement. Athan was shocked when he saw her reply. How had he hurt her? "What did you do to her?" Glen asked calmly.

"Ha! What could I have done to her? Do you think that I would be standing here if I did anything to her?" Athan asked with a self depreciating laugh.

"Then what happened?" Glen corrected realizing his mistake.

"Shouldn't you have guessed already? Or do you see her companions with her? What else is there to ask?" Athan replied.

Glen looked at his sister and realized what was happening.

"But it was a week ago I thought that she was already over it, tch," Athan jested but he went silent and sat on the opposite side quietly after he received a glare from Calista. Which obviously did not escape Glen. Also, it seemed she had calmed down a little bit.

"Who is this guy?" Glen asked amusedly. "Boy, you should put on a shirt," he continued.

"I don't have any," Athan replied casually.

Glen fell silent lost in thoughts that this guy had tainted his sister's innocence. Calista realized what was going on on his mind and explained what had happened and this time she was strong for she did not shed any tears even when her voice broke.

"Him?"Glen almost laughed out loud. What a joke. What spell had he used to seduce his sister? "Isn't he just in the Blossom Plane? I wonder if he can be considered one. Not even a single shroud of energy of the Blossom Plane."

"Don't get me wrong but he is that Athan," she cut in.

Athan put on an ugly face. So he was but a weakling of the Blossom Plane.

"So you are the Athan. Its understandable this way way then," Glen said as he switched to other topic to discuss with his sister completely ignoring him.

But Athan was lost as to why they would refer to him as such. Just what had he done? He was famous back then but people ought to have forgotten about him for he had not made an appearance in two years.

He was also planning on going low profile. Not doing anything eye-catching. But who could have guessed that his low cultivation was this eyecatching. But with that, he was going to get overlooked which he wanted.

He suddenly raised his eyes when he felt two gazes on him. The two were staring at him curiously. He could not help but wonder just what she had told him. It was probably about selling them information.

"Have you really stayed there for that long?" Glen asked shocked. Athan just nodded as he could guess where this was heading. "My sister promised to buy information from you. I can represent the Quiren Family if you really want to sell us information, we will definitely agree."

"I am willing to tell you but the information I have is supposed to be classified and not just anyone can learn about it," Athan said as five bodyguards dressed in black suits walked into the chopper.

"Its done," one of them said as they took off.

"So its classified. I wonder how much proof you have for it. If it is really valuable and as classified as you claim, you are going to be lucky," Glen said as he stared at his sister trying to see if she could spill some beans but she folded her arms and feigned ignorance which made both of the guys chuckle.

Glen then spoke as if remembering something. He asked one guard to remove his blazer and give it to Athan who put it on. For the rest of the journey, it was either family business being discussed which Athan did not even bother to listen or insignificant thing.

It was not until thrity minutes later that he realized that they had arrived. The Quiren Family did not lose in any way from the Byron family mansion. Their land spanned more than 10 kilometers.

The chopper landed in front of the mansion and one could see a middle aged man standing at the stairs leading to the entrance of the mansion. He was obviously the Patriarch. After the old men took over the world, they all abided their Patriarch seat to one of their best sons.

The chopper finally landed and the door opened. Glen led the way with his sister Calista walking by his side. Athan leapt out and he stared around.

He sighed for his eyes could not see the boundary of the family's land. He watched as the chopper rose and flew away.

"Show the guest to the guest room. Make aure he is satisfied. I will surmon you when need arises," the Patriarch said as a maid came from inside the mansion and bowed at Athan.

"This way young master," she said as she led the way away from the main mansion to another house that was about 100 meters away from the main house. She put the password on the door and opened for him as she let him walk in first.

Athan could tell that no one had stayed in this place in ages. He removed the sword on his waist and placed it on the coach.

"There are clothes that can fit you in that wardrobe and the bathroom is this way. This house is fully equipped and the the refrigerator has enough food. If you require any help you can ask me," the maid said her hands clasped forward and her back bending forward slightly.

"You should leave first. I will call you when I am in need of you," Athan said to the maid who bowed and left. "Officially back to civilization," Athan thought as he walked towards the bathroom. It had been long since he had taken a good bath.

He stripped as he walked to the bathroom.
