Chapter 21: Study
The next Morning, Ethan got ready to join Ann at the library but before that he texted jian
'good morning beautiful' jian must be up because she immediately replied, she was actually having her breakfast
'morning handsome' she sent with a winky face. Ethan sent her the poster, he waited for a few minutes but didn't receive a reply he decided to leave and check later.
Jian was having breakfast when Ethan sent that message after reply her phone died, she plugged it the night before but it wasn't charged because she forgot to switch on the switch so she had to charge it in the morning. After helping and mom in the kitchen and doing her chores, in the afternoon she got ready to leave.
"Mom, I'm leaving" she called out
"Okay sweetie, be safe" she said. Jian was going to the town study center to get some work done, apparently there was 3 research paper that are due within the next week, she called chloe to come with her but she had to go to the airport with her mom to pick up her dad so she couldn't come, she had no choice but to go alone.
"Who knew you can cook" Seth teased as Fiona brought the dishes out
"Don't flatter her" Rosa her mother said as she smacked fiona on the back of her head and fiona pouted as she whined to her mother, the three were having breakfast when mina walked in, the bulter announced her arrival before she was allowed in
"Oh hey mina, come join us" Rose offered but mina politely declined saying she just ate before coming
"You're early" Fiona commented with a smile, although she was a bit confused, was she expecting her she just smile back at her
"Morning Seth" she greated before he could even say hi
"Morning" he smiled at her and she couldn't stop the blush that crept up her cheeks. Fiona didn't like it one bit, mina was beginning to get on her nerve
"Wait for me upstairs, I'll be there" she said but it sounded like a command. After breakfast Fiona told seth about the outing and he agreed to go, seth thanked rosa and got ready to leave while Fiona went upstairs to meet mina, on his way he texted jian.
When jian reached the Library and finally settled down, she took out her phone to check her messages. She replied to chloe first who sent her a picture of her and her dad, she was really a carbon copy of her dad. She then replied to Ethan's message
'sounds like a plan' as she was replying to her other friends she received a message from seth, she opened the message but before she could send a reply, a friend of hers spotted her and the two began chatting. For Seth he began to panick, was she really avoiding him, he had to apologize and fix things so he sent another message
'are you made at me, I'm sorry' but it appeared as read but no reply came. Jian finally said goodbye to her friend before picking up her phone to see seth had sent 2 more messages, she couldn't help but chuckle, he apologized about the peck and asked her to not be mad at him, he's so cute she thought to herself since she wouldn't go crash at Ethan and Ann's study she'll just drag seth over
'if you wanna apologize you gotta do it in person' she sent and he immediately replied asking for her location and she gave it to him, she decided to do some work before he arrived.
Fiona walked up to her room, where mina was waiting. She brought a bottle of wine, she was going to act a little side quest to her plan, her mom left for the company and her dad was on a business trip, tiana was in dubai with her friends probably trying to get over her lost love so she was home alone as in no family member was there just the maids and bulters and other workers, she was basically in charge.
"Hope you didn't wait long" she asked as she set the wine and glass on the table
"No, did seth leave" mina couldn't help but ask
"Yeah, i told him about the show he agreed" fiona said taking a seat and opening the drink pouring two glass
"Here" she handed one to mina. The two kept on chatting and Fiona kept on chucking one glass after another soon she became tipsy
"Are you drunk" mina asked although it was quite obvious, Fiona's eyes were droopy and she kept mumbling
"No" she whined as she tried to fill her glass again but mina stopped her this time
"I told you, you shouldn't drink much" she scolded and fiona just flashed her a smile
"I'm sad" she said as she leaned back on her chair taking deep breaths
"Why" mina asked curious
"I still love him" she said almost to tears at this point
"Seth" mina whispered as if she didn't want Fiona to hear it because she didn't want to hear the answer, if fiona liked seth then what about her, was she going yo give up yet again is she really ready for that
"Yes" Fiona yelled and she almost jumped off the coach she was startled.
"I'm going to to sleep, just go home" Fiona said walking towards her bed, mina didn't protest she wanted to go and think too. When mina left Fiona couldn't hide her anger anymore she immediately threw her pillow at the door, she wasn't drunk, after mina's little blush episode earlier, she didn't want her to participate in her plan anymore, she didn't want to use her anymore so she pretended to be drunk and tell mina her feeling so she'll back off again but this time mina had a determined look unlike back in high school when she had a defeated look. Since she was ready to go tooth and nail she's made up her mind too, she'll wait and observe and if mina truly was still eyeing what was hers, she couldn't look down too, she doesn't even stand a chance against her, she has a built a foundation in their relationship and mina was just a friend of a friend to him. She couldn't help scream into her pillow, she would hate to lose mina as a friend but what can she do, she chose to fight against her.
"What are you smiling at" Ann asked as Ethan smiled at something on his phone
"Look at this" Ethan said showing her the theme park show
"Ohh" Ann said trying to sound excited
"Your going with jian" she asked and ethan nodded with excited then proceed to ramble on and on about jian. It has always been like this and she would just seat there, she was going to take Fiona's advice and go for it but seeing the look in Ethan's eyes everytime she talked about jian she couldn't help but think she'll lose not only a good friend but she couldn't get the relationship aswell, so she was thinking about giving up.
"Sorry I'm talking too much" Ethan chuckled
"No its fine, enjoy your lover boy phase" she said with a smile
"You should find yourself a boyfriend and join me too, it's a nice phase" he joked and Ann laughed
"Well i kinda of in that phase" she mumbled but Ethan heard it, he gasped.
"Who is it" he asked excited for his very single friend
"Well its quite complicated I don't know if he likes me" Ann explained, she was already shy her ears were even turning red
"I want to give up" she added looking up at him
"Why" he asked with a frown
"I don't know if he likes me" Ann said with a defeated expression
"How will you know if you give up huh" he said, shaking he's head and that was all that Ann needed, Fiona was right why would she give up its not like him and jian are dating, who knows what would happen in the future, even the guy himself said so 'how will she know if she gave up' . She smiled at him
"Right" she said and ethan gave her a thumbs up before they ended the topic and focused on the work at hand.
"Hey" seth whispered to the very engrossed jian who was trying to do her work. She almost screamed but he covered her mouth shushing her, they were in a library and jian looked like her scream was gonna send both of them out
"What the hell" she whisper yelled after he sat beside her.
"My bad" he giggled, even her angry face looks cute
"What are you doing" he asked scooting closer
"Studying" she said as she went back to her writing
"Food production management" he mumbled and she hummed. Looked like seth was only invited to be a emotional support human because jian focused on her studies and he just sat there doing everything under the sun to get her attention, he'll take her pencil and hide it but one of her iconic glares would make him pull it out instantly, he would mumble to himself about how he was bored to death but the girl would only smile and try to hold her laugh,
"Your not still mad at me are you" he asked but jian just shook her head eyes on her laptop. Seth looked around and when he saw nobody, nobody was there probably because the desk jian was sitting was at the back unless someone came to look for old books, which they didn't often considering the dust that it was accumulating he concluded no one would come anytime soon so he did something that got her attention immediately, he turned around and lay on her lap, thankfully the seat they sat on was a coach chair
"What are you doing" jian asked wide eyed but didn't put any attempt in pulling the guy off her
"Getting your attention" he smirked leaving jian speechless
"Good for you, you did, get off" she whispered as she looked around, what if someone saw them worst someone she knew what was she going to tell them
"No" the shameless guy said as he made himself comfortable, he didn't sleep much last time, he was really worried about he's father and he had to attended a zoom meeting on his behave too, which is basically him going to prove himself worthy to the board so he was really stressed but now he was already feeling at peace, he sighed
"I'm very stressed just 5 minutes please" he looked up at her and she fell for those puppy eyes
"5 minutes" she said pointing at him and he nodded pleased, 5 minutes turned into an hour. He literally slept for an hour until jian was done and had to wake him up so they can leave and go get a late lunch. The two spend the day together so did Ann and Ethan.
