Chapter 99: Teaching Eris

Should he just grow wings and fly back?

Roa instinctively glanced at the little creature that was being implanted with the magic seed.

The juvenile Red Dragon was feeling extremely uncomfortable.

The violent and uncontrollable mana quickly devoured all the mana in its body, then surged forward, following its meridians to its heart.

Finally, it fused in the heart, forming a black magic seed.

The newly awakened Red Dragon had now completely become Roa's subordinate.

The moment the magic seed was successfully implanted, the Red Dragon's body began to expand rapidly, growing from its original two-meter length to five meters. Its crimson scales also began to change, with new black scales forming.

An invisible connection was established between the two. Before Roa could say anything, the five-meter-long Red Dragon ran up to him and affectionately rubbed against his leg.

Roa fell into deep thought.

A five-meter-long Red Dragon rubbing against his pants was indeed a bizarre sight. Roa kicked it away, causing the dragon to stumble and fall backward. It then rolled over and got back up, looking at Roa with a pitiful expression.

Roa's molten golden eyes met the dragon's gaze, and the creature instinctively lowered its head, whimpering. It flapped its wings, signaling for Roa to climb on.

Roa was slightly taken aback. The creature's obedience left him at a loss.

But he didn't say much. Seeing the faint light of dawn breaking, he realized that if he didn't return soon, it would be too late. No, it was already too late. He could imagine Eris eagerly coming to look for him, only to find him gone.

Would she get angry? Probably. She might curse a few times, then storm off to find her etiquette teacher to continue her dance lessons.

But there was nothing he could do about it. Who knew that the fusion would cause so many unexpected changes?

His clothes had been completely torn apart during the transformation. Now, he was only covered by a layer of mana, wearing a black short-sleeve shirt that somewhat resembled the vest he used to wear, though it was hard to tell at a glance.

After all, one was a trench coat, and the other was a short-sleeve shirt. The difference was quite significant.

Roa climbed onto the Red Dragon's back, patted its head, and after a moment of observation, pointed in a direction for it to take off.

The Red Dragon roared in response, spread its wings, and flew in the direction Roa pointed.

Roa quietly felt the wind flowing past his ears, the air currents brushing against his golden hair as they headed toward the Kingdom of Asura.

The Red Dragon's speed wasn't slow. In fact, most flying creatures weren't slow, especially dragon-like beings.

By the time Roa returned, it was probably around nine o'clock. To avoid causing panic, Roa had the Red Dragon drop him off at the outskirts. Under the dragon's reluctant gaze, Roa made his way toward the Greyrat estate.

The Greyrat family's territory, Fittoa, though seemingly prosperous, was considered a remote countryside filled with adventurers by the nobles of the capital.

During the Human-Demon War, it served as the final line of defense for the Kingdom of Asura.

If an S-class Red Dragon appeared, it could cause quite a bit of chaos.

Along the way, Roa noticed the strange looks people were giving him.

Wherever Roa passed, there would be a brief silence, but unlike when the Dragon God passed by, the adventurers would erupt into a frenzy afterward. Some female adventurers even approached him, their expressions shy as they tried to ask him questions. But when they got close, they didn't know what to say. Roa found these girls blocking his path rather amusing.

Seeing their awkward demeanor, Roa calmly said, "Hey, you're blocking my way."

Upon hearing his voice, the girls would blush and their hearts would race.

Roa couldn't stand this and felt that the crowd around him was about to close in again.

He gathered a bit of mana and disappeared from the spot.

At the same time, he couldn't help but wonder, was his charm really that great?

What Roa didn't know was that dragons were naturally good-looking, and the purer the bloodline, the more striking their appearance.

Roa had always been good-looking, but now he had reached a level that could be described as enchanting.

When Roa teleported back to his room, he frowned slightly.

He sensed that there was someone in his room, and that person was none other than Eris.

She was sitting in the chair he usually occupied, resting her head on her hand, looking utterly defeated.

It was hard to imagine that someone like her could wear such an expression. It was clear that the recent dance lessons had taken a toll on her.

Roa climbed through the window and silently walked up behind Eris, clearing his throat softly.

Eris was startled and instinctively swung her elbow at Roa.

Roa didn't dodge the elbow strike, and the result was predictable. His current body was incredibly sturdy. Even if someone were to attack him with a sword, they might not be able to harm him.

Eris's arm turned red from the impact. She was about to complain, but when she turned to look at Roa, she was momentarily stunned.

Roa had just completed the bloodline fusion and couldn't fully control the intensity of his aura. An ancient, majestic pressure emanated from him, making Eris's entire body tense up.

It was the instinctive fear of a beast encountering its natural predator. Roa's entire being exuded an overwhelming sense of authority, almost forcing Eris to bow before him. It was the insurmountable gap between their bloodlines.

Eris was naturally competitive. The more Roa exuded this aura, the more it ignited her stubborn refusal to submit.

Roa didn't know what Eris was thinking. Seeing her like this, he assumed she had come looking for him, only to find him missing, and was now venting her frustration.

Roa found this amusing. He leaned in closer, staring directly into her eyes.

Eris glared at Roa, and Roa stared back.

Just as Eris thought a fierce confrontation was about to erupt, Roa suddenly smiled. He reached out with his slender, fair hand and gently patted her head.

Roa said with a smile, "Sorry to keep you waiting."

The previous imposing aura dissipated, replaced by a gentle, warm presence.

Eris stood frozen, staring at the exquisite face so close to hers, once again falling into silence.

Was Roa good-looking? Undoubtedly. From the first time she saw him, Eris had thought he was good-looking, but that was about it.

But as time passed, the twelve-year-old boy began to develop the distinct features of a young man, transforming from merely good-looking to genuinely handsome.

Eris admitted that he was handsome, and he certainly had the looks to back it up.

But she hadn't expected him to be this handsome.

This was the first time she had observed his face so closely, and the first time she had truly examined his appearance.

The young man had a pair of bold, striking eyebrows, beneath which were those unyielding molten golden eyes. His features were flawless, so perfect that not a single flaw could be found. Eris was stunned, unable to spot even the slightest imperfection on his face.

Roa's lips curled into a sunny smile as he gently stroked Eris's fiery red hair. "Come on, let me teach you how to master this quickly," he said.

Roa's Crash Course in Dancing

It was undeniable that Roa knew nothing about dancing.

But that didn't mean he couldn't teach Eris. After spending over a year together, Roa had come to understand this fiery yet incredibly simple-minded girl inside and out.

She wasn't the type to think deeply, and even slightly complicated matters would give her a headache. She also had a bit of a childish temper.

In this case, it was clear that Eris didn't particularly enjoy dancing, but she had decided to learn the steps anyway, likely to live up to expectations.

Noble society was full of such intricacies, especially among the great families. Appearances mattered most, and as a young lady coming of age, it was essential to make an appearance at social gatherings to showcase the dignity of a great noble family.

And so, the pressure fell on Eris.

Roa took Eris to her etiquette teacher, a middle-aged woman whose fine wrinkles were beginning to show. She had a soft, round face and a kind smile, giving off a gentle impression.

When she saw Roa, she was slightly taken aback. Edna placed her hand on her chest and bowed slightly in greeting, then said with a warm smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Edna Rayrune, and I'm responsible for teaching Lady Eris etiquette and manners."

Roa nodded and returned the gesture with a bow of his own. "My name is Roa. Just call me Roa," he said calmly.

He turned his gaze to Eris and sighed, "I suppose you already know me. I'm this child's magic and literacy teacher. Honestly, I didn't expect Eris to come to me for help. But since she did, I think I can be of some assistance. When it comes to teaching Eris, I'm quite skilled."

As he finished, Roa flashed a proud smile.

Edna looked at him with a sense of admiration. Instead of immediately discussing Eris, she said, "You're quite a remarkable person. I can sense elegance and authority in you, yet your demeanor is so gentle."

Roa looked at the gray-haired woman in confusion. Weren't they supposed to be talking about how to teach Eris?

Why was she bringing up something else?

The woman smiled calmly and reached out to take Eris's small hand. "In that case, follow me," she said with a smile.

The room was spacious, with simple furnishings—just a table and an oil lamp on the wall.

On the table was a rather antique-looking phonograph, something Roa had never seen before. It exuded a strong sense of vintage charm.

Edna skillfully wound the phonograph's crank, and soon, a soothing, cheerful melody filled the room.

She turned her gaze to Eris and said, "Lady Eris, please dance as I taught you."

Eris nodded and began to dance.

Roa only needed a glance to understand the problem.

Her steps were too fast.

She was moving too quickly and with too much force. Eris's personality and movements were well-suited for the Sword God style.

However, when it came to dancing, it had the opposite effect.

Parts that required slow, rhythmic steps were being rushed, causing her to fall out of sync with her partner's rhythm.

Eris instinctively resisted having her rhythm disrupted. No matter the situation, she wanted to maintain her own pace, unaffected by others. This was an excellent trait in combat but a hindrance in dancing.

After all, dancing required coordination with a partner.

If it were just her own rhythm, Eris might have danced well. Unfortunately, a dance partner was inevitable at social gatherings.

Edna looked at Roa with a questioning gaze, and Roa nodded, indicating that he understood.

With a wave of his hand, mana transformed into black threads that wrapped around Eris's joints.

Edna was startled, but Roa reassured her, "No need to worry. It's just a simple little trick."

Eris, the one being controlled, remained calm and composed. She turned her gaze to the dazzling golden-haired young man before her.

Roa smiled at Eris and said, "I'll 'control' your body to dance once. Feel it out."

Although Roa hadn't learned dancing, these steps weren't particularly difficult. After a quick glance, he already knew what to do.

The gentle music began again, and Roa used the threads to guide Eris's movements.

One graceful motion after another flowed seamlessly.

Dancing was like that. As long as the movements were executed correctly, even minor flaws could still create a pleasing aesthetic.

Eris was also in a daze.

Now she understood what Roa meant by 'control.'

He was literally manipulating her like a puppet, and the feeling was incredibly uncomfortable. If it had been the old Eris, she would have already thrown a fit.

But remembering the gentle tone in Roa's voice earlier, her anger dissipated like a passing breeze.

Eris consoled herself, thinking that he was only doing this to help her.

However, as she thought this, she naturally began to lose focus, and the consequence was that she couldn't grasp the essence of the dance.

Roa's expression turned serious. "Eris, Eris? Are you spacing out?"

Eris snapped out of it, her expression slightly awkward as she glanced away, like a student caught daydreaming in class.

Roa sighed, exasperated. "Eris, you came to me for help. You need to put in some effort."

Eris, knowing she was in the wrong, surprisingly didn't argue. She nodded earnestly.
