Chapter 204: The Storm Approaches

This black aura was almost identical to the black mist Roa had seen in his dreams, the only difference being that the mist surrounding Ren Ashbell was much purer.

Three years ago, when Ren Ashbell won the Blade Dance Festival, she made a wish to the Elemental Lord, a wish for the death of the Water Elemental Lord.

Although the Elemental Lord could not control wishes, and the operation itself was not under the Elemental Lord's control, making a wish for the Elemental Lord's death in front of him was still somewhat naive.

The outcome was predictable; Ren Ashbell was directly consumed by the "Darkness of Another World."

The dense dark energy could erode the consciousness of an Elemental Mage. Even a prodigy like Ren Ashbell could not remain in the Darkness of Another World for long.

Restia used spatial magic, preparing to send Ren Ashbell away. Even though Ren Ashbell had already been tainted by the aura of the Darkness of Another World, at most, she would lose some memories. This was not a big deal; in fact, Ren Ashbell, having absorbed this energy, could become stronger, and her Demon King status could awaken.

But at that moment, something went wrong with the spatial magic.

To be precise, it wasn't her casting technique that was flawed; as a Dark Spirit, she would never make such a low-level mistake.

A temporal disturbance disrupted the space, and it was this momentary effect that forced Ren Ashbell to remain in the Darkness of Another World for a full ten minutes.

During this time, the dark aura completely eroded the boy. If Restia hadn't protected Ren Ashbell, she would have been completely lost in darkness and chaos by now. At that point, Ren Ashbell would no longer be Ren Ashbell but would transform into a monster-level existence like Solomon.

Even so, this brief period had resulted in Ren Ashbell becoming such an existence.

Not only had her gender changed, but even her soul had been tainted by the dark aura.

To be honest, Restia, as a Dark Spirit and the guide of the Demon King, had previously been known as "Solomon's Ring," but the only one she had truly guided was Ren Ashbell.

The other Demon Kings had either died before meeting her or had never encountered her. Almost everyone had ended their lives before meeting Restia Ashdoll, or like the legendary Solomon, awakened in an irregular form, consumed by powers they could not control, turning into a mass of resentment.

Who could have imagined that the Demon King who brought suffering to this continent was actually a failure?

Yet even such a failure still pricked the nerves of everyone on this continent.

When Restia met Ren Ashbell, the gears of fate began to turn.

This was the first time she truly watched Ren Ashbell grow.

Ren Ashbell's talent was exceptional, far surpassing most Elemental Mages. After spending some time together, Restia could confidently guide Ren Ashbell to awaken the power within her, and in fact, the results were surprisingly good.

At the Spirit Blade Dance Festival, Ren Ashbell being called the strongest Blade Dancer was enough to prove everything.

But due to a mistake, Ren Ashbell gradually fell into the abyss, and now she had become a shell of her former self.

For her own good and for the sake of her mission, all she could do now was try to transfer the power that belonged to the Dark Spirit Lord to another substitute.

So, upon learning of Roa's existence, her feelings were quite complex.

Although she had spent many years with Restia, and even someone like her had some feelings, now all she could do was transfer that power away.

Restia looked at the silent Ren Ashbell beside her, gazing at her enchanting face, and finally sighed, "Forget it, let's do it this way. This will be a good thing for him too."

As her words fell, Restia turned her gaze to Inzagi and said calmly, "In that case, go and test him. See what that guy is made of, and if possible, bring him here."

Inzagi was slightly taken aback, then burst into laughter. His face, which could be considered somewhat handsome, was filled with arrogance as he laughed, "Alright, I'll show you who the real Demon King heir is."

Restia said nothing. After Inzagi disappeared into the woods, she muttered, "Just a little bug."

Ren Ashbell glanced at Inzagi's retreating figure, still saying nothing, her eyes cold and devoid of emotion.

After handling all these matters, Roa returned home, sending Ellis to the infirmary. Upon receiving the report that Ellis's condition was not serious, Roa let her rest in the infirmary and went to deliver the task to Greyworth.

In the office, Greyworth looked up at the relaxed boy, a faint smile on her face as she said, "It seems everything went smoothly."

Roa nodded, glancing at Greyworth. Her mature and exquisite face always wore a smile, but this smile felt more like a mask.

He shrugged and casually said, "I've already taken action. What else could be unresolved? Besides, isn't everything under your control?"

Roa's lightly mocking words did not upset Greyworth. She continued to smile and said, "This attack was indeed beyond my expectations, but life is always full of surprises, isn't it? The things to come will only increase, not decrease."

Greyworth's insinuating words made Roa frown slightly. He coldly asked, "What else are you hiding from me?"

Greyworth shrugged, her lips curling up as she replied, "Well, as long as you can win the Blade Dance Festival."

Roa gave Greyworth a deep look and casually said, "Fine, considering how much you've helped me, I'll do my best to assist you within my capabilities."

Then Roa turned to leave. As he watched Roa's departing figure, the calm expression on Greyworth's face vanished. She rubbed her forehead, sighed, and gazed out the window, murmuring, "Truly, the storm is coming, and the wind fills the building."
