As night fell, the sky gradually darkened, and Scarlett had gone to wait in Granger's room early.
However, I received last-minute news that Granger wouldn't be returning to the compound tonight.
I jokingly asked the guy who usually had the best inside information.
This time, though, he looked irritated and even snarled at me not to ask questions I shouldn't.
Suspicious, I went to Granger's room to let Scarlett know not to wait up.
Unexpectedly, as soon as I entered, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen.
Seeing it was me, the hairpin in Scarlett's hand wobbled and fell to the floor.
Clutching my moderate wound, I sneered with a frown, "You've got some nerve!"
"Granger's out on business today. You'll stay in the room next to mine for now."
After escorting her back to the room, I slammed the door shut and shoved Scarlett hard, giving her a contemptuous look:
"How naive. You think you can kill Granger like this?"
