Chapter 9

It was Melody calling—

After Granger agreed to marry, Melody announced the date to the media, with the engagement ceremony set to take place soon.

But when the engagement day arrived, the groom-to-be Granger was nowhere to be found.

Melody was frantic, spending a fortune to have people search high and low for Granger.

On the fifth day after my death, my father finally decided to have me cremated and buried.

They had to practically wrestle my body away from Granger's grip.

The moment the flames began to consume me, Granger, who had been in a daze until then, suddenly took off running.

He ran back home, heading straight for the trash can.

Finding the trash can at home empty, he went to search the ones downstairs.

Granger was looking for the mementos he had thrown away with his own hands.

But several days had passed, and the neighborhood's garbage had been cleared many times over.

Granger didn't give up, taking a taxi to the landfill.
