Xia Yang's feet pounded against the cold marble floor as he ran, his breath coming in sharp bursts. His body moved on instinct, weaving through the dimly lit corridor, but something strange caught his eye.
Cameras.
Not just one or two—there were cameras mounted along the hallway, sleek and professional, their lenses shifting slightly as if tracking movement. Then came the soft hum of something mechanical above him. Xia Yang glanced up and froze.
A drone.
It hovered a few meters away, its small red light blinking ominously.
Cameras and drones? What the hell is going on here?
Before he could process the implications, voices echoed from behind him.
"Find him! He couldn't have gone far!"
Xia Yang clenched his jaw and kept running. He didn't know where he was or why this place had so much surveillance, but none of that mattered. The only thing that mattered was escaping.
As he turned a corner, the hallway suddenly opened up into a grand atrium. A polished marble floor stretched out below, illuminated by a massive chandelier that bathed the space in golden light. A luxurious staircase led down to an open gathering, where dozens of casual dressed guests sipped champagne and murmured in hushed tones.
And security.
His sharp gaze locked onto the guards stationed strategically around the room. Some were already turning in his direction, their expressions shifting from relaxed to alert.
He exhaled slowly. Shit.
A quick glance behind him confirmed the worst—his pursuers were closing in. Trapped between an unknown crowd, security, and the men chasing him from behind, his options were rapidly shrinking.
His fingers tightened against the cool railing in front of him.
The drop wasn't too high—two floors at most. The landing would be rough, but nothing he couldn't handle.
His lips curled into a smirk. Fine. You want a show? I'll give you a show.
Without hesitation, Xia Yang jumped.
The wind rushed past his ears as startled gasps and shouts erupted from below. The golden glow of the chandelier blurred as he plummeted toward the marble floor—
And he didn't look back.
