Vampire

On the day I was reborn, blood rained from the sky.

It saturated the straw rooftops of my village. It coated the walls of the castle in sticky, red, gore.

The moon turned scarlet.

It soaked into the earth, flooding my resting place with unlife.

In that moment, I woke from my slumber. Drowning, I tore with bloodied hands through the rotting wood, through the dirt and mud.

Exhausted; I crawled, mewling, into the night. The stench of the grave clung to my skin, as my clothes hung in rotten tatters about my sallow frame.

I hungered now. Enveloping hunger...
