The linoleum on the bathroom floor felt cool as I lay down. The sound of the tap, running water in to the bath above me sounded distant as the exhaustion took over.
I had to lay down before I fell down.
Gathering the towel, I propped my head up. Curled up, foetus-like, I tried to stay alert. Awake. Didn't want the bath to overflow even though I lay here, drained of all my energy. Nothing more than a mind, trying to ignore a world filled with floating after-images. Swirling and dancing through my vision. Not even drug induced.
