Lilia's Guide to Accidental Chaos
Lilia Meadowspring's first week at Arcana Regalia Academy could be summarized in three words: disaster-prone, enthusiastic, and flammable.
"It's not my fault!" she insisted, clutching Sir Spicy (the three-legged fire salamander) as Professor Thorn inspected the smoldering ruins of the alchemy lab. "I just added a pinch of dragonroot powder to the healing potion!"
"A pinch?" Thorn growled, plucking a charred test tube from his beard. "You inverted the laws of thermodynamics!"
"But look!" Lilia gestured to a nearby cauldron, now sprouting neon-pink flowers. "It's innovative!"
Aizen—still disguised as Grey—ducked behind a pillar to avoid the debris. "Vermis, remind me why we're here?"
"Because Lady Redwyne threatened to turn you into an ice sculpture if you 'fraternized with the commoner' alone," the grimoire replied. "Also, the pink flowers are edible. Try one."
The Uninvited Study Session
Stephanie's idea of "supervising" Lilia involved freezing her chair to the floor during study hour.
"Lady Redwyne," Lilia said, waving a sparkly gel pen, "would you like to borrow my notes? I drew little hearts next to the important parts!"
Stephanie's quill snapped. "I prefer professional annotations. In blood."
"Oh! Like a secret code? Cool!"
Aizen stifled a laugh. Stephanie's frost magic crept up his boots in retaliation.
The Salamander's Secret
Sir Spicy adored Lilia. He also adored setting things on fire.
"He's just expressive!" Lilia said as the salamander torched a tapestry in the grand hall. "See? He drew a smiley face!"
Kael, ever the pragmatist, dumped a bucket of water on the flames. "Control your pet. Or I'll turn him into boots."
Lilia gasped. "Sir Spicy is family! Right, Grey?"
Aizen nodded, dodging Stephanie's ice daggers. "...Sure. A… warm family."
The Divine Intervention
During a magical aptitude test, Lilia's latent powers surfaced—spectacularly.
"Focus on the mana crystal," Professor Thorn instructed. "Channel your intent."
Lilia closed her eyes. The crystal glowed gold, then sang, summoning a beam of light that vaporized the ceiling.
"Oops," she whispered.
Stephanie raised an eyebrow. "You're a walking hazard."
"But a radiant one!"
Aizen exchanged a glance with Vermis. "Divine magic?"
"Confirmed," the grimoire said. "She's blessed by the Sun Goddess. Explains the chronic glitter."
The Picnic Plot
Lilia organized a "friendship picnic" in the frostbloom garden. The guest list included:
Felix: Brought "experimental" sandwiches (ingredients unknown).
Kael: Stood guard like a statue (while secretly feeding Sir Spicy jerky).
Stephanie: Attended solely to freeze Felix's sandwiches.
Aizen: Survived.
"This is nice!" Lilia said, spreading jam on a charcoal-encrusted scone. "We should do this every week!"
Stephanie's smile was arctic. "We shouldn't."
The Accidental Confession
While gathering herbs for a potion, Lilia tripped into Aizen, spilling moonbell petals everywhere.
"Sorry! I'm such a klutz!"
He steadied her. "It's fine. Really."
She blinked up at him, cheeks pink. "You're… really kind, Grey. Not like the other nobles."
"Master," Vermis warned, "Stephanie's proximity alert: 10 meters and closing."
Aizen stepped back. "Thanks. But kindness is… baseline decency?"
Lilia giggled. "You're funny too!"
Stephanie emerged from the shadows, frost swirling. "Funny? His humor is adequate at best."
The Yandere's Olive Branch (Sort Of)
That night, Stephanie stormed into Aizen's dorm, clutching Sir Spicy by the tail.
"Teach the vermin to stop following me."
"He likes you," Aizen said, rescuing the salamander.
"Disgusting." She tossed him a frostbloom. "For your baseline decency."
He tucked it into his journal. "Thanks, Steph."
"It's poisonous. Don't eat it."
The Protagonist's Resolve
Lilia cornered Aizen after class, her eyes determined. "I want to get stronger! Will you train me?"
"Why me?"
"Because you're the only one who doesn't treat me like glass."
Stephanie's voice cut in. "He's busy."
Lilia grinned. "Then train us both! Please?"
Stephanie's frost faltered. "…Fine. But I'm not responsible for her… everything."
The Epilogue: Sunshine and Storms
As the chapter closed, Lilia practiced fire spells under Aizen's guidance, Sir Spicy cheering her on. Stephanie watched from afar, her ice magic flickering with reluctant approval.
"She's trouble," Vermis said.
Aizen smiled. "Trouble's kinda fun."
Stephanie froze his shoelaces. "Fun is prohibited."
