No one comes close to him

"Dear, wake up ". I can feel and hear someone's tapping me gently.

'oh God'. escapes from my mouth, as I open my eyes slowly to see who it is.

It's Morning already, someone had open my curtains widely, and it could only be the doings of one person.

A smile from across the room, coming towards the bed,

"Hello baby, how have you been." Mrs Edward angelic tired voice says, as she comes over to the bed to give hugs that I wasn't ever going to return back.

I could feel her cold arms on my skin, I didn't know how to fake my smile anymore around them, I do not know when and at what age I stopped smiling, or being affectionate towards them.

"I guess the body knows when something is off". This was Dan voice ringing in my head. Memories of us kissing rushes through my mind, I can not wait to see him today. Just the thought of him makes me energetic.

I am about to go to the bathroom, to freshen up and leave for school

When Dad strolls into my room, there is something off about them.

They both looked tired, maybe a little bit old, and I know that them looking for their lost son was taking a big toil on them.

I used to be so concerned about him too, about any information of his whereabouts.

But now I care less, because finding him means neglecting me.

"Your school principal have been trying to reach out to us, Helen ". Dad speaks slowly and tiredly

I mumble " Yeah". As I apply my paste on brush.

" So any idea, of what it might be." Dad asks as he crosses his leg sitting down

Mom placing her phone downwards as she looks over to me.

" She says it's very important, I think she is saying something about your academics." She adds in quickly.

Since they knew about it, why are they still speaking to me about it, anger fills me up.

" I don't know, maybe it would be nice to graze her with your presence." I utter angrily as I bash into the bathroom and lock the door.

I can hear Dad calling out my name angrily, and Mom telling him, I was still a child.

'Yeah a child, with no regards about her mental state". I say as I spit out the paste in my mouth and scrub my tongue.

" I mean, we already spend so much money on her already, like did she think the scholarship is entirely free". I could hear dad telling mom.

And mom telling him that "They should try and see the school principal".

I hear them stand up, and leave as they shut the door closed.

I put on the shower, as I let the hot water steam my anger and pain away. Hot tears stinging at the corner of my eyes.

'why do people think everything is about them and not trying to get to know why the other party is reacting'.

I let the tears be, as it runs down through my face, and I stay in the shower for a bit longer than usual.

I come out from the bathroom as I hear the message pings on my phone

I go over to the phone, it is Selena asking where I was.

I typed "Coming out from the shower".

"We are being shared into reading groups, come ASAP". Selena responds almost immediately.

I roll my eyes and drop my phone on the bed ,

Like why do the school see a need to always force us to interact with each other, because that was the sole purpose of it all.

I get into a black skimpy gown, I wear my black long leggings over it, I put on a little nude heels to add some colour to the outfit .

I let my afro curly hair out, i was not prepared to do a big style on it, I apply hair gel on my edges. Spray my vanilla scented, pad my face with my brown powder, apply my lip gloss and hang my bag.

I look at the mirror one more time, I smile at my reflection. 'Dan wouldn't be able to resist my charms today '. The thought alone made me let out a chuckle.

Thankfully, my parents were not in the living room, I take out some snacks frim the kitchen, I had ordered my ride, which was ready to pick me up. I slid into the car, as i let down the windows and breathe deeply to my own perfume.

As soon as I step into the class, Some few heads were turning over to me, I smile a little knowing deep down I look good .

My eyes scans towards the class, looking for Dan, I catch his eyes, His eyes already on me.

I do not see Sabrina around him today, I smile even harder.

'i knew they wouldn't last long, I have that effect on him.'

I don't know how I and Sabrina's eyes meet, but she wasn't not giving me mean and evil smirk today.

She's staring me right in the eyes, if looks could kill, I'd be dead right now.

I can hear her friends gossiping.

I do not care, as long I still feel Dan's eyes on me, I go over to sit down with Selena. Who's typing away with her long distance boyfriend.

"Hey, you look good today." Selena says with a big grin on her as she looks up to me.

" I feel good ". I reply her, still looking over at Dan, whose eyes are still on me.

Selena traces my eyes and she immediately lets out a small scream

"Don't tell me y'all made up? ". She asks me.

The smile spread throughout my face widely

" Yeah, we did, he came over and we talked it out". I giggle as I tell her.

"You mean, after you must have called him a thousand times ". Selena asks as she raises her brows up.

I shoot her a dirty look, she leans backwards on her chair, defended.

" What matters is we made out, I mean I totally deserve his lash out ". I say to her and look over to Dan,

who was saying something to his crew, I mean almost half the guys look up to him in the class, he has that effect on everybody, and I am sure, most of them wants to be like my Dan.

"Can you guess, who you are grouped with?". Selena breaking the silence between us.

The last time it was with Dan, maybe still him, hopefully.

I nod my head sideways, as I turn towards her

" It's Dom". Selena tells me as she giggles on her phone, typing her.

"You mean Dom Bells, the nerd?" I let out sharply

Selena looks at me confuse "You know he's also hot too".

I roll out my eyes, like was I that bad at my academics now,

" You know you and Dom are like the brain book in the class, so? ". Selena reminds me.

" Don't you see how wrong that makes it, my results aren't that bad and he could gloat over it". I let out in frustration.

" What do you mean, you and Dom never talked, so how's he going to gloat". Selena still confused.

" We book brains, like you call us, we know this kind of things, you wouldn't get it". I shoot at her a sharp look.

" I mean with your current results, obviously you need some help". Selena says, knowing i would give her a sharp look, she looks over to her phone, pretending to smile over something.

I look over to her and tell her what happened with him the other day,

" You mean, he told you owe him a drink?". Selena fangirls.

"Yes, I couldn't say nothing, he just smiled and ran off to his friends". I roll out my eyes not understanding the hype about him.

" You always get the good looking ones". Selena lets out a fake cry.

I shoot her a dirty look

"Sorry, and you always have the nice and good ones".

" It not the same as having a hot guy around you know, but Neo is long miles away from here, it's hard you know". Selena tells me sadly.

I get her, I don't know if I could do long distance, but Neo her boyfriend is one of good ones, he sends gifts every now and them, make sure they video call, voice call everyday and he's always around when he gets the chance to.

Even if Dan and mine relationship isn't like this, I know he does love me and he's also one of the good ones. Everyone don't have to be the same

" You know he could even help take your mind off Dan". Selena says smiling sheepishly,

I look over to Dan, who was still chilling with his friends, and then over to Sabrina who was acting sad and looking over to Dan.

I smile inside.

" I don't think, any guy would come close to Dan". I blurt out a bit loudly

Selena rolls her eyes away, and chats away

She wouldn't get it , would she?.

I can sense someone standing Infront of me,

I look up,

It is Dom, looking at me with this smile he had the other day on his face.
