[Ink Ashborne, Level 1, Death Knight]

As the brilliant light of the magic array dimmed, The courtyard fell silent.

Everyone stared at the words "Death Knight"

Rose's expression turned serious, a rare hint of doubt flickering in her usually composed gaze.

Not because they know what kind of profession this is, but they have never seen it before.

Even Principal Edwards and Gladys exchanged uncertain looks.

Ink was just as shocked. In all his years of studying at this school, he had learned about many different knight-type professions. Yet, Death Knight was completely unheard of.

Of course, the term itself wasn't foreign to him. In his past life, he had seen it countless times in video games and fantasy novels. But in this world?

This profession simply did not exist.

His mind raced. Was this profession special? Or was it hidden, appearing only under certain conditions?

A thought surfaced—perhaps it had something to do with his past.

After all… he had experienced death once.

Maybe that was the key**.**

But before he could ponder the implications further, an uproar erupted around him.

"Wow! Ink is amazing… he unlocked a hidden profession!"

"Right? I've never heard of it before! It sounds incredible…"

"It seems like the opposite of a Paladin."

"He's so lucky… damn it, I got Farmer."

Ink's heart pounded in excitement. A hidden profession! His future was bright!

"Ink, come over here."

Suddenly, the formation master, Gladys, called him over.

"You have a hidden profession, and I've never seen it before," he said with curiosity. "Can you show me some skills?"

Faced with Gladys's request, Ink did not refuse.

"Please wait a moment."

He was going to check his own properties.

Ink's eyes locked onto the words "Necrotic Essence."

Unlike other energy types, such as mana, which mages and priests used, his energy type had no numerical value beside it.

For spellcasters, every skill they used would consume a portion of their mana, and once depleted, they would be unable to cast spells until it regenerated.

But for a Death Knight?

It made sense that they wouldn't use mana at all.

This Necrotic Essence was something different.

"Okay I'm ready, let's go outside."

Hearing this, both Principal Edwards and Gladys exchanged glances before nodding in agreement.

Without another word, they turned and stepped out of the courtyard, followed closely by the entire group of students.

The training grounds behind Hugnelts Middle School were massive, designed for combat practice.

It was enclosed by thick stone walls, reinforced over the years to withstand the powerful magic and weapon techniques of students and teachers alike.

Ink stepped forward onto the field, rolling his shoulders as he approached a weapon rack filled with dull training swords.

He reached out and grabbed a ****simple iron practice blade—nothing special, just a basic weapon used for beginners.

He shifted into a combat stance, gripping the sword tightly.

Then—

He swung.

No shouting was needed to tell what what the skill was.

He only silently said in his heart [Dusk Crescent Slash].

A crescent-shaped wave of dark green energy erupted from the blade, expanding as it raced forward.

It tore through the air with a howling wail, leaving behind a faint afterimage of ghostly mist.

The arc of energy shot across the field, gaining speed—

Until it finally collided with the stone wall.

Boom!!

A shockwave rippled through the entire training ground.

The thick stone wall, designed to withstand years of combat practice, now bore deep, jagged cracks across its surface.

Some portions had even crumbled entirely, leaving chunks of stone scattered across the ground.

An eerie silence followed.

"hiss~~ is that a power a newly awakened can have?"

The nearby students gasped at the sight, while Gladys furrowed his brows.

Even Principal Edwards, who had seen countless awakenings, narrowed his eyes.

The destructive power of a level 1 skill shouldn't be this strong right…?

In the crowd, Harry, a chubby student, felt his face turn deathly pale.

Whenever Ink saw him, he would put a friendly hand on his shoulder, acting like a lifelong best friend, before asking for "protection fees" with his signature smile.

To Harry, that smile was the most terrifying thing in the world.

Now, Ink could break walls at level 1.

Harry swallowed hard, sweat dripping down his forehead.

Ink, as if sensing his thoughts, turned his head slowly toward him.

And smiled.

A chill ran down Harry's spine.
