Keifer's POV
"I'm sorry Jay." Damn it! I can't even say it properly to him. It's Aries' fault. I was caught off guard. And now I heard her crying again before the call ended. My ï¬st clenched while holding the phone. "Sir, Mr. Clyde is waiting for you." One of the employee said. I slightly turned my head and answered. "Give me a minute." "Yes Sir." He said and I heard his footsteps. I just got back to the Philippines, I can taste that Aries. He called me just to tell me not to come back. Is he crazy? Well the answer is Yes. He really is crazy. I just don't understand how I went from him to Jay-jay. He's probably tricking me. I hid my secret phone in my coat pocket. I adjusted my tie before walking back to the conference room. Clyde is waiting for me while sitting comfortably in hisâ€"my swivel chair. I approached him and kicked the swivel chair. "Move. That's my chair." He glared at me. "I'm still the CEO, Keifer." "That's my chair." I repeat. He frowned before standing and moving to another swivel chair. I shook the chair briefly before sitting down. I looked at the disheveled Clyde. His face was still marked by my punches. "Enjoy watching my face?" He sarcastically asked. "Nothing enjoyable in your face." He handed me a few pieces of paper. A list of companies in Asia that could be partners or good investments. I look for a particular one but for some reason the Fer Corp is not on the list. "List of the companies in Asia. Their portfolio is over there." He pointed his ï¬nger at the end of the long table. "Since you are now moving orward to your rightful throne, why don't you start with the responsibility." "Fer Corp is not on the list." I said and looked at the list again. "What?" He asked. "What Fer Corp?" "Fernandez Corporation. Located in the Philippines." He raised an eyebrow. "Why does it sound so familiar?" I put down the list and shook my head. "Nevermind. I'll just add it to the list." He suddenly frowned and looked at me with so much grimace. "Seriously? Don't you dare add a shit on a pile of gold." Isn't he a shit? "It's not on the list because it's not a good company. Simple as that." He added before resting his back and raising his foot on top of the table. I rolled my eyes and re-read the list. I know few of the companies. Those with a good grossing in the past few years are the ï¬rst one that I choose to check the proï¬le. "Clyde." I called him and he looks at me. "Hand over the portfolios. Thanks." "I beg your pardon." "Forgiven. Hand me the portfolios." I getsure my hand on the end of the long table. He chuckled in disbelief. "Wow." It was obvious he had no intention of following suit that's why I looked at him. Clyde really has a Watson traits. From the way he looked at me to his actions. That's all he had to do. "The portfolios." I said and he groaned as a sign of defeat. He stood up to get the portfolios. They were so thick that he had to go back and forth to get them all. When he put them all down in front of me, he looked at me while slowly raising his middle ï¬nger. Smiled sweetly and raised my middle ï¬nger as an answer. "Tsk! Wow, you're a one true fvcker." He sarcastically said to me. "Whatever." I snorted and got the portfolio that I want. He returned to his seat. He took his phone and started playing games. I can even here the sounds. I choose to ignore him and continue reading. I separated the portfolios regardless of the company's status in the economy. Surprisingly, a lot of potential companies are located in the Philippines. Singapore and Korea have the fastest grossing companies in Asia. After I ï¬nished what I was doing, I noticed that Clyde had fallen asleep in his seat. I check the time through my wristwatch. It's already lunch time and I'm still here with my idiot cousin. I'm hungry. I look for the intercom which accidentally covered by the papers. I ask the receptionist to bring us lunch. Since Clyde is sleeping I choose the food to eat. Almost half an hour before the food came. I didn't wake up my partner and ate alone. Times like this I always think about her. Is she eating? I remember how she eats. She chooses no place to show her love with oods. I can barely remember any food she refused to eat. And she really has a big appetite. But what amazes me is her body that doesn't change that much, despite eating to much. Suddenly I choked when her evil look on my face came to mind. "Please tell me your dying." It was Clyde. My coughs probably wake him up. He stood up and grabbed a packed lunch as well as bottled water. I drank mine to remove the irritation from my throat. "So you're not dying?" He asked in a flat tone. "Too bad." The words were clearly floating and didn't cross his mind. I almost forgot, he don't have a brain so nothing will ï¬lter his words and what he said. He started eating so I didn't let him go. He ï¬nished his food right after I ï¬nished mine. He grabbed some of the lists and portfolios. "Visit them. Do your thing." He said before throwing the papers towards me. "Check their offers, whatever." I took the papers and arranged them properly. I'm about to scold him with his action when I notice that he's already snoring. He fell asleep that fast. Why does he seem to be up all night? My secret phone suddenly vibrates. I briefly glance at Clyde before taking it out of my pocket. It was from the least person that I'm expecting to receive a message from. From: Demon Message: Schnee would like to meet you. What does that one need? Then it suddenly came up in my mind. He was the one who would give me the initiation task. I asked Angelo where we would meet but he didn't answer. Minutes passed and another message came from an unknown number. It was an address which I think is our meeting place. I didn't waste any more time. I left and left Clyde who was still sound asleep. sleep. I just bought the papers from his secretary. When I left the building, the car was waiting for me. I told the driver where my destination was. It wasn't far but because of the heavy traffic it took us less than an hour. Before I got out of the car, I looked around. The coast was clear. I got out and entered the restaurant. My eye brow raised when I noticed that there's no other people inside. It's a restaurant for freaking sake it's supposed to have a customer. But I seemed to know the reason for the absence of people in the place. Ervin Schnee is silently enjoying his food. I approached him and immediately smiled when I saw him. It was a very playful smile. "Watson... Have a sit." He uses the knife pointed at the seat across his. "What happened to this place?" I ask while pulling the chair to sit. "I rent the whole place. I don't like noise while having nosh." He said and swallowed his food. My nose crinkled because of disgust. He eats like a pig. He did a good job on renting the whole place. People won't like to watch him eat either. "What do you want from me?" Just get to the point. "See that jewelry store across the road?" He uses his knife again to point at the store outside. Thanks for the big glass window of this restaurant I can see everything outside. It was a vintage style jewelry store but there's nothing on the display window but empty boxes. "I think it's out of business." Is said to Schnee before glancing back at him. He took his phone out. He presented it to me and showed me a ring with a large diamond in the middle and two small ones on either side . "The store owner doesn't want to sell that ring. He said something about feelings." He said before taking his phone back. Okay, I know what he's up to. "You want me to buy it for you?" He grinned like a child. "Yes, please." I rolled my eyes. If this part of the task this is too easy. So, Angelo is telling the truth. There group will deï¬nitely take advantage of its new recruit. They will ask me to do things just because they knew I badly want to belong to them. "Okay. Wait here." I left him and walked straight to the jewelry store. The bell makes noise when I open the wooden door. I almost raised an eye brow when I scanned the whole place. It's empty. There is nothing on the cupboards display window. Just empty jewelry boxes. Did they get rub? Or bankruptcy? "Leave." An old voice said. "I saw you talking to that idiot guy across the road. I won't let him get the ring." I turned to look who it was. And old guy with one eye lens. He's busy looking at something on his table behind the counter. I slowly walk towards him. "Did you get rub?" I asked while pointing at the empty cupboards. He laughed at what I said. He shook his head while removing the one eye lens from his left eye. He put it inside his chest pocket. "You're not from here? So tellâ€"." He stopped when he had a chance to stair at me. "Do I have something in my face?" I ask that makes him look down. "I beg your pardon. I thought you were someone that I knew." He arranged a few papers on top of his table. "You're a Watson?" "Yes, I am." He nodded briefly. "That makes sense." My forehead crease. He obviously knows someone from the family that I resemble. "Do you know someone from my family? I would guess it's my grandfather since they say I look like him." He laughed briefly. "Certainly." He ï¬nally stops from what he's doing. "So, how can I help you? I bet you're not here for my rub jewelry." He's obviously making fun of my question. I scratch my eyebrows. I didn't mean to ask that. I notice how he looks at my arm with a bandage. I raised it to show that it's alright and I can use it normally. "It's nothing." "You said so." He suddenly put a red cloth on top of the counter. One by one he put a colorful ring on top of it. I saw the ring that Schnee wanted me to buy for him. There's something different from his rings. Yes, it is shining like the other expensive jewelry but I felt something while staring at the rings. "I don't use expensive materials, diamonds are needed to be ordered ï¬rst before I make the ring. If that doesn't answer your question. My store is not rubbed. I do not put them on display because someone like your idiot friend across the road will buy it and put it on waste." He explained. Now it makes sense. That's why the jewelry boxes are empty. Because he makes them customized for someone. For my Jasper Jean. "Can you make one for me?" I ask with joy in my chest. He stared at me for a while. "It depends. Can you describe the receiver of the ring?" It's not really my intention to buy her a ring. But for some reason I saw her teary eye smile while I'm wearing a ring on her ï¬nger. I can't hold my smile. "Well she's really different." "All women are different." He said while giving me a playful look. "In the eyes of their men." I laugh briefly. "I don't think there's a right word to describe her. But I will still try." I said and he nodded. "She likes food and she's not ashamed of it. She doesn't care what other people would say about her. She does what she thinks is right. Friendship and family is important to her. She's also one of the boys. Would you believe if I tell you that he punched me?" He laughed from my question. "Now describe her the way you see her." "I see her as the queen of my empire." I said without any hesitation. "And you are her king?" "Yes, but..." I said that makes him confused. "I am willing to leave my throne as long as she's sitting there for me. I can do that to protect her." It took me a long time to realize. He doesn't need a king that will sit by her side, she needs a man that will protect her. I will shine my sword but not my armor so that I could ï¬ght with honor and not for a show. "That's a very dangerous feeling you got their young man." He said and I noticed the notebook he was writing at. His taking notes of what I'm saying. Does he really need to do that? "When is her birthday?" He asked. "May 29." "Oh dear. That's in two months." "I understand if you can'tâ€"." He shook his head. "Don't challenge me. I never fail in time." I can't hold my smile. My ï¬rst gift for her birthday. We ï¬nished the transaction with my payment. He asked for my details so he could contact me. I returned the ring that Schnee wanted so much. At ï¬rst he didn't want to sell it but in the end I convinced him that I will give it back if that guy will give it away for nothing. I also found out that it was for one of his customers, but eventually he broke up with his girlfriend and never came back to get the ring. I paid it double so he can return the money from that guy. I came out with a strange smile. I can't wait to have that ring and give it to Jay. I went back to the restaurant and gave the ring. "Wow, you did it." "Make sure to take care of it." He smiled wickedly. "Of course. Same way I treated my other jewelry collection." Collection? "This is for your collection?" "Yes." He said and started to walk out of the restaurant. "I'll send the money later." How unusual. I never heard of a guy collecting jewelry. As far as I know it's a woman thing. Jeez. They're all weird. I looked outside when I noticed the driver getting out of the car. He's talking to someone over the phone. I walked out of the restaurant and stopped in front of him. "Sir Keigan said your flight is tonight." I nodded to him and got inside the car. We headed straight for the hotel. Once there, I quickly walked to the Elevator. Keigan and I still haven't talked about the incident. I tried to start the conversation but he quickly changed the topic. Obviously avoiding it. I can't help but think about his situation. The scary part is Keiren sees it before. He experiences the changes in his older brother. I hope he doesn't notice that his older brother is in trouble. I quickly walked to the elevator. I headed straight to our suite where I found Keigan talking on the phone. He turned to me. "...yes. He's here." He ended the call and put his phone down. "It was Clyde. Start getting to know the companies on the list. I book your flight tonightâ€"." "You're coming." "What?" He looks confused. "I need an assistant. Honey obviously have no use because she was too busy with her textmate." I have no plan on leaving him here, especially now that I know his situation. "I don't think I can help youâ€"." "You already help me. You planned everything for me, remember?" He nodded shortly. "Then, help me again. This time as my assistant." I saw how his lips form into a smile. "O-okay. I'll get ready everything." He went straight to his room and so did I. I prepared the things I would bring. But this is not just a trip home to Asia.
