The question was met with an obvious silence, with Sea looking at him with a blank look which made commander Noah a little bit embarrassed.
He coughed as he tried hiding his embarrassment, "I forgot you wouldn't reject and you are always ready, but you don't need to give me that look." He said as his lips twitched in silent smile.
Sea ignored him, as she carried on reading the papers filled with the results of the investigations carried out. "When?" She asked in her usual hoarse voice.
"You will need to wait a bit. You won't be working alone this time around, the military would be sending someone to assist you." Commander Noah who understood what she was saying immediately replied as he ignored the confusing look on the faces of the others.
"Partner? Don't need one."
Commander Noah looked at the expressionless face of Sea and smiled softly. "You do need one. This is a mission and we are putting our hope on you. You don't need to worry about him being weak as he isn't, he is a powerful detective and also a powerful fighter. He is good at close combat and mechineries, and you both will be a powerful match as you are good at attacking in the dark and also good at weapons." He explained. "He will be here anytime from now, so you would have a chance to see him and maybe test his skills. What do you think?" He asked as he looked at Sea, waiting for a reaction from her, so he could know his next step.
Sea replied, "Oh" then quietned down, as she looked at floor, going into a Daze again.
Meanwhile, Commander Noah nodded as he understood what the "Oh" means, so he relays her message to the confuse people in the meeting room.
The wait was not long before the door was pushed open heavily, as a young man walked in.
Dorning on a military polo with a khaki touser, he face was serious as he walked in, his strong aura filling the room, turning everyone's attention to him, his presense bought an unknown tension to the room, making the leaders who were used to turmors surprised, reassuring them they had bet on the right person.
"Good day, and sorry I am late. I just came back from a private training." His voice resounded loudly in the room, bringing the dazed Sea-Z out of her private world. She traced the voice and saw the the outstanding man standing powerfully in the middle of the hall, she scanned him with her cold eyes, which was met with a grin from the man. She pulsed her lips and ignored him.
"Detective Jill! Heard alots about you. And it's fine, you aren't late, please sit while we go through everything again, as it's seems you hadn't been told why you are here." Commander Noah welcomed him as he pointed at the chair next to Sea, with face filled with flattery.
Commander Noah passed the same document which was given to Sea to Jill, "This is the documents, please go through it."
The man called Detective Jill went through the documents, his face turning serious the more he read. Putting down the file after going through it, he turned to face the dignitaries with a grim face.
"This is more serious than seems. I don't think their goal is simple, they should be more to all this. According to the investigation, the killers are attacking minors, though they are truly geniuses, but if you read more, you will find out the similarities in the age group. The people killed are between the age group of ten to twenty, which means he is targeting the young ones, but we can't rule out the possibility of him coming for the adults when he is done with the young ones." His explanation shook the room, though they have thought about this but no one wanted to believe in their thoughts as it's scares them, knowing their enemies are in the dark while they were in the light. Now the question is how could this be solved?!
Jill continued, "Besides I noticed a part that said the people sent to investigate never came back? And you rule them as dead?!" He asked heavily, turning the people focus back to the papers on each on their table.
Everyone focused on the papers as they read through it again, the room was silent and the only sound that could be heard was the sound of papers turning.
Seeing their expressions changed after reading the reports, Jill knew they were thinking in line with him. He loved working with smart people, and the people here were smarter as they had gone through a lot to reach the position they were now.
Seeing the grim look on their face, he continued. "Why are they tagged dead? Did you find their bodies? And why would a strong trained soldiers go into this mission and none came back? At least one or two should drag himself here! This means alots is going on which is not written on the file. Besides, I see the name; Dylan Mike on the file. I have work with him on tackling a case before and I know him to be a strong and persistent person who wouldn't give up, he was someone who will make sure he had crawled back if he had been injured, so why is he tagged dead?!" His question resonated in the room, bringing in a intense air in the room.
"Seems they are alots of secrets behind all this, and that is why we need you. I would love to introduce you to your partner, Sea-Z." A man dressed in a navy officer uniform introduced seriously.
Jill was shocked when he followed the eyes of the chief who was looking at the silent Sea-Z. He had noticed the quiet woman when he felt her scan him with her cold eyes. He had thought she was just a assistant as she looked petite, and most of all, she had been quiet all through the meeting. He had wondered what she was doing here if she wasn't even paying attention but he choose to ignore it and focus on his serious findings. You can imagine the shock he got when he was told she was his partner who would work with him.
"Partner? How? I thought this mission was meant for me to handle along with my teammates, so I don't think I need one, besides, she is so small and petite, would she be able to handle a blow?!" Jill asked but he wasn't allowed to finish as he felt the world turn upside down and the sound of something heavy hitting the ground was heard.
Silence filled the room as everyone looked shocked. What had just happen?
