Chapter 7

Deepen the emotional weight

The night had settled over the city like a thick, impenetrable veil, and the Roy estate stood silent under its weight. When Billy returned home, he gripped a document tightly in his hands, his expression a mix of anxiety and determination. His footsteps echoed through the dimly lit corridor as he made his way to the grand hall, where Rin and Ron sat in tense anticipation.

Pausing at the doorway, Billy took a deep breath before stepping inside. He bowed his head slightly in respect.

Billy Roy: "Sis, are you busy?"

Rin looked up from her seat, her sharp eyes scanning his face for any sign of urgency.

Rin Roy: "What is it, Billy?"

Billy hesitated before extending the document towards her.

Billy Roy: "Could you check this file for me? It's important."

Rin accepted the file, flipping through the pages with a meticulous gaze. Her brows furrowed as she absorbed the contents. Beside her, Ron leaned in, his curiosity evident. But as Rin's expression darkened, she snapped the file shut.

Rin Roy: "Billy, we need to talk. But first—"

She lifted her head, her voice like ice.

Rin Roy: "All unnecessary people should leave this room."

Ron straightened, offended.

Ron Roy: (mocking) "Come on, come on! All unnecessary people, get out now. Hurry up!"

Billy blinked in confusion. "But... it's just the three of us here. So—"

Ron smirked. "So what?"

Without missing a beat, Rin's gaze locked onto Ron, her voice slicing through the air like a blade.

Rin Roy: "I have never met anyone as shameless as you in my entire life."

Ron recoiled as if slapped. "Sis—"

Rin Roy: "You still don't get it, do you? Do I need to spell it out? You are the unnecessary person here. Leave."

Ron gaped at her, his face flushing with humiliation. "Sis... how could you? I am not some servant of this Company!"

Rin Roy: "Ron, my patience has limits. Do not test them. This is your final warning."

A cold silence stretched between them. Ron turned to Billy, hoping for support, but Billy merely lowered his head, his lips curling into a knowing smile. That was the final straw.

Ron clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. A game was being played, and he had just realized he was the one being moved like a pawn.

Rin Roy: "Out. Now."

With a sharp inhale, Ron stood up, his pride barely holding him together. Without another word, he stormed out—but instead of leaving entirely, he pressed himself against the wall just outside the door, his heart pounding. He wasn't done yet.

Inside the room, Billy shifted uneasily.

Billy Roy: (quietly) "Sis… was that really necessary? Ron seemed really hurt."

Rin exhaled, folding her arms.

Rin Roy: "You don't get to decide what's necessary. I do. And this wasn't just about the document—it was a lesson. Did you notice how eager Ron was to see what you were up to? That's how much interest people take in your power. You need to be careful, Billy. This world isn't kind. It's full of backstabbers and opportunists."

Billy frowned, Rin's words sinking in like an anchor.

Billy Roy: "I understand, Sis."

But outside the door, Ron's body trembled with barely contained rage. His own sister suspected him? She didn't trust him? He bit his lip so hard he tasted blood.

They will regret this. Every last one of them.

The door suddenly swung open, and Rin stepped out. She didn't flinch upon seeing Ron standing there, her sharp gaze cutting through his poorly feigned innocence.

Rin Roy: "Eavesdropping? How predictable."

Ron forced a nervous laugh. "Sis! You misunderstand! I was just passing by when—ah! My leg twisted! I had to stop here to steady myself, and that's when you opened the door!" He winced dramatically, pretending to be in pain.

Rin wasn't fooled. She stepped closer, her presence suffocating.

Rin Roy: "Ron, from tomorrow, you won't step foot in the office. Stay home. Eat. Enjoy."

She turned, walking away without waiting for his response.

Ron's face darkened.

Enjoy?

He'd show them enjoyment.

Later that evening, tension thickened the air at the dinner table. Everyone sat in stiff silence until Ron arrived late, his expression stormy. The moment he stepped in, he erupted.

Ron Roy: (yelling) "Dad! Who am I in this family? Does my existence mean anything to you? Am I truly so worthless that you don't even care whether I live or die?!"

Omio Roy set down his utensils, his eyes calm but piercing.

Omio Roy: "Are you seriously demanding we worry about you when you think only of yourself?"

Ron slammed a fist onto the table. "You're joking, right?! I want answers!"

Omio sighed. "Then sit down and explain."

Ron scoffed. "Explain?! Your precious daughter threw me out of the office! Tell me—how could she do that?!"

From the side, Rin's voice sliced through the room.

Rin Roy: "Your father's daughter is still sitting here, Ron. Watch your words."

Omio turned to her. "Rin, why did you do this?"

Ron opened his mouth, but Rin's glare silenced him.

Rin Roy: "There's been a major financial fraud in our company. Some evidence points to Ron. That's why I removed him. Then, he tried to eavesdrop. Anyone with half a brain can see why."

Ron paled. "That's a lie! I don't even know what you're talking about!"

Rin Roy: "Oh? But you just said I only warned Billy about business politics. Which means… you did hear us, didn't you?"

Ron's breath caught in his throat. He had slipped.

Butler Samuel Zim: "Sir, perhaps we should leave this matter for another time. There's no point in arguing over dinner."

Rin Roy: (snapping) "Shut up, you classless servant! Who gave you the right to speak?"

Billy Roy: "Ron! Mind your language. He is Butler Samuel Zim, not just some employee."

Ron smirked darkly. "Oh, how could I forget? He's not just a servant—he's Orion Roy's dear brother. Another true successor, right?"

Omio's expression turned to stone. "Watch your mouth, or I will forget that I have a son named Ron."

Ron froze. "Dad…!"

Omio Roy: "I said shut up! Samuel is more valuable to me than you. Apologize. Now."

Samuel Zim: "Sir, it's not necessary."

Omio Roy: "No. Ron is a disgrace. I am ashamed to call him my son. Get out of my sight."

Ron's face twisted with fury. He looked at them all, seething. Then, without another word, he stormed out. Outside, his breath came in ragged gasps.

Ron Roy: "Fine. Make me the villain. My revenge begins now. And I won't stop until you all are ruined. Just wait and see."

 The Seeds of Betrayal

Ron stormed into his private study, slamming the door behind him with such force that the windows rattled. His hands trembled as he braced himself against the desk, his breaths coming out in ragged gasps. The echoes of his father's words still burned in his mind.

"Samuel and Billy is more valuable to me than you."

"I am ashamed to call him my son."

Ron clenched his fists. He had always known he was treated differently, but tonight confirmed it—he was nothing but an outsider in his own family. He had spent years fighting for approval, only to be discarded like a broken pawn. But no more.

They want me gone? They will regret it.

A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. He straightened, forcing his expression into one of indifference.

Ron Roy: "Enter."

The door creaked open, revealing a familiar figure—Nina, his longtime confidante cousin and the only person he could still trust. Her dark eyes flickered with concern as she stepped inside. she is aunt Grace daughter.

Nina: "I heard what happened. They humiliated you. Again."

Ron scoffed, pouring himself a glass of whiskey. "They never saw me as one of them. I was a fool to think I mattered."

Nina: "What will you do now? Accept it? Walk away from everything?"

Ron swirled the amber liquid in his glass, watching the way the light fractured through it. Then, he smirked. No. Walking away was never an option.

Ron Roy: "I will show them what a mistake they made. If they refuse to acknowledge me, I will carve my own path—one that leaves them in ruins."

Nina crossed her arms, her gaze sharp. "Then you need allies. You can't take them down alone."

Ron exhaled, the gears in his mind already turning. He knew exactly where to start.

The following morning, Ron stepped out of his car, his polished shoes clicking against the pavement as he walked toward the towering glass building before him. Smith Enterprises.

It was the rival firm that had been competing with Roy Industries for years. If there was anyone who would want to see Omio and Rin fall, it was them. And obviously Billy

A man in a tailored suit awaited him at the entrance. He smirked, extending a hand.

William Smith: "Ron Roy. I was wondering when you'd finally reach out."

Ron shook his hand firmly. "I believe we have common interests. Let's talk."

As they entered the building, Ron felt a new fire ignite in his chest. He wasn't the castaway anymore. He was the storm brewing on the horizon, ready to strike.

The game had just begun.
