The Momentum Builds

Ethan couldn't help but ride the wave of excitement from his first successful gig. The energy from that small victory made the grind of his part-time job seem a little less taxing. He had taken the first step, but he knew this was only the beginning. He couldn't let himself get comfortable.

In every free moment, he found himself refreshing his freelancer dashboard, hoping for another message. But hours passed, and nothing came. The thrill from the previous night started to fade, replaced by nagging doubt. One five-star review wouldn't build a sustainable career. He needed more.

Determined not to lose the momentum, Ethan refined his approach. Instead of offering free work, he listed his services at a rock-bottom price—just enough to make it appealing to potential clients while still keeping his work valuable. It was a gamble, but it paid off.

By the end of the week, Ethan had completed three more small jobs: another logo, a simple website header, and a product description. Each project came with another positive review, slowly building his credibility one task at a time.

Then one evening, while grabbing a coffee between shifts, he saw a new notification on his phone. His breath caught as he read the message.

"Hey, I run a small business and need a full website. Are you able to help?"

A full website. The request was a huge leap from the small, simple tasks he had been taking on. Ethan had worked with website builders before, but he wasn't sure if he had the experience to pull off something this large. For a moment, doubt crept in. But then, he remembered what he was trying to do—if he wanted to grow, he had to take risks.

"Absolutely! Let's talk about the details," he typed quickly, sending the message without looking back.

As he hit send, it hit him—this was more than just a chance to make some money. This was about proving to himself that he could build something from scratch, that he had what it took to succeed on his own terms.

And he was just getting started.
