Eastern Region
Xuanyang Sect, Outer Sect
Inside a thatched hut
A tall, handsome young man sat by the window, holding a bronze mirror and scrutinizing his reflection.
After a moment, he sighed.
"Ugh."
Li Xun slowly set down the mirror, a helpless expression on his face.
Unsurprisingly, he had transmigrated into another world.
His newly merged memories confirmed his current reality: he was now a disciple of the Outer Sect in a large organization called the Xuanyang Sect.
"A fantasy world," Li Xun muttered to himself.
This world was perilous beyond imagination. The strong could move mountains, reclaim seas, pluck stars from the sky, and shift the moon's path. The weak, however, lived on the edge of survival, often perishing as collateral damage in battles between giants.
"At least my body isn't useless," he mused. "And thankfully, I don't have to change my name either."
The memories revealed that the body he now inhabited shared his name—Li Xun—and had good potential. In just two years as a disciple of the Xuanyang Sect, the original Li Xun had reached the Tenth Stage of Body Refining cultivation.
He was just one step away from breaking into the Primordial Qi Realm—a significant achievement. Even among other prestigious Sacred Lands, this would be considered a mark of talent.
Unlike other transmigrators who often started with disadvantaged bodies, Li Xun felt lucky. He didn't have to worry about passing the Inner Sect assessment three years from now, nor fear being sent down the mountain.
In the Xuanyang Sect, Outer Sect disciples had five years to break into the Primordial Qi Realm. Failing that, they would be assigned to manage the sect's secular businesses. Though not technically expelled, returning to cultivation afterward was nearly impossible.
Three years remained before his deadline. With his current pace, Li Xun believed it was unlikely he would fail to break through.
More importantly, he had a secret weapon: a medicine pill.
Setting the mirror aside, Li Xun picked up a white jade box from the table and gently lifted the lid. A sweet fragrance filled the air.
Lingyuan Pill.
This pill boosted the chance of breaking into the Primordial Qi Realm by 30% for ordinary cultivators. For someone with Li Xun's innate talent, the probability increased to between 50% and 70%. Given his solid foundation, the breakthrough was almost guaranteed.
"Superior aptitude, strong family background..." A smile touched his lips. "This start is perfect."
The Lingyuan Pill had been sent by his family, hoping to help him enter the Inner Sect quickly. The sooner he advanced, the more attention he would gain from the elders of the Xuanyang Sect. Once recognized, resources would naturally flow his way, benefiting both him and his family.
"Once I familiarize myself with the cultivation process, I should break through in a few days."
Just as the thought settled in his mind:
[Ding!]
A clear chime echoed in his head.
[The strongest investment system is being installed…]
[Installation successful!]
[Welcome, Master.]
"Huh?"
Li Xun's eyes widened. He shot up from his chair in disbelief.
Moments later, he calmed down, muttering to himself, "I actually have a system?"
From what he knew, transmigrators typically awakened systems when they faced hardship. But he was already off to a strong start—why did he need a system?
Not that he was complaining.
"System, explain your function," Li Xun requested mentally.
[Dear Master, this system's sole function is investment. You can invest in people, and each investment yields a corresponding return.]
[There are five grades of investment: white, blue, purple, gold, and red. The rewards improve with each grade.]
[Note: When you encounter someone suitable for investment, the system will notify you immediately.]
[Additional rewards beyond the system's offerings might also surprise you.]
"Invest in people?" Li Xun frowned thoughtfully.
The mention of unexpected rewards intrigued him. What surprises could the system be referring to?
"I'll need to experiment to find out," he decided.
Just as he was about to ask another question:
Knock! Knock! Knock!
A knock sounded at the door.
"Senior Brother Li Xun? Junior Brother Lu Changhe is here to visit."
