Different Worlds, Different Bodies

"To be honest, after watching that kid eat, I feel full already." An operator who had just entered the cafeteria and witnessed Kanna's entire meal without touching their own tray patted their stomach before quietly murmuring to a colleague while heading for the exit. "Who wouldn't? Let's go together." The colleague shook their head with a sigh and followed them out.

Meanwhile, Kanna, having finished her meal, was surrounded by medical staff as they escorted her to the infirmary. Since Amiya had already confirmed that she posed no danger, all that remained was a full medical examination. Once completed, she would receive her official Rhodes Island credentials, marking her formal acceptance into the organization.

Everything was already set up at the infirmary, and even the infamous bloodsucker who had been left hanging on the ship's bridge earlier had been retrieved and was now participating in Kanna's examination.

The initial physical test results left everyone stunned—they matched those of a normal young girl. Yet just moments ago, Kanna had devoured an amount of food that, by weight, was more than half of her own body mass. If all that food had truly been processed and absorbed, then did that mean Kanna's base body weight was under ten pounds? That was clearly impossible.

The only logical explanation was that everything she consumed had been fully digested and converted into energy at an extraordinary rate. But even then, not even thirty minutes had passed since she finished eating. Even if she had only consumed water, digesting that much liquid would still take significantly more time.

As the head of hematology, Warfarin carefully extracted a blood sample from Kanna's hand and took a small piece of skin tissue before following Kal'tsit into the lab for further analysis.

Before long, Kanna's medical report was ready.

Originium crystal density in blood: 0.01u/L

Cellular Originium fusion rate: 0%

Conclusion: No signs of Originium infection.

However, the next section contained an unexpected anomaly:

Unusual ionized electricity concentration in blood: 50u/L

Everyone was baffled. Why would such a high concentration of electrical ions exist in normal blood? And why was it specifically labeled as "unusual"?

Moments later, Kal'tsit and Warfarin emerged from the lab, their shocked expressions making it clear that even they were taken aback by Kanna's test results. In particular, during their examination, they discovered that Kanna's cells displayed an extreme level of devouring behavior toward any energy-containing substances.

Under the microscope, they first introduced sugar water and ketone aggregates—both were immediately consumed by her blood cells and broken down into vast amounts of "ionized electricity." Initially, they planned to finalize the report based on that finding.

But in a moment of curiosity, Warfarin decided to add a drop of Originium solution to the sample. To their utter disbelief, under their very eyes, Kanna's blood cells devoured and broke down the Originium solution as well, converting it entirely into dense clusters of electrical ions.

The two scientists exchanged glances. Kal'tsit was the first to speak. "Forget it. We saw nothing."

They both understood the sheer magnitude of the discovery before them. This could be the key to a breakthrough in Originium treatment. However, Kal'tsit's years of experience kept her rational. If this information were to be leaked, not only would Rhodes Island struggle to protect Kanna, but if her condition turned out to be an isolated case or had unknown risks, Rhodes Island could end up being branded as the executioners responsible for endangering or even harming an innocent child due to a misjudgment.

Snapping out of her shock, Warfarin nodded. "I have to admit, this little one's situation completely surpasses our expectations. I suggest that all further blood analysis be personally handled by me."

Kal'tsit nodded in agreement. "No objections."
