When the earth split open and nightmares crawled out, humanity had only one choice—fight or die. A special task force was created, warriors chosen by lottery to battle the monsters that threatened to consume the world. But fate is cruel, and so is family.
Lyria Vance was never meant to be a soldier. The lot had fallen on her twin sister, but their parents, blinded by favoritism, forced Lyria to take her place. They sent her to die in her sister’s stead, casting her into a war she never asked for.
Her first mission was an execution disguised as duty—an S-Class hunt for a creature so powerful, it erased her entire team in seconds. The world believed she perished that day.
They were wrong.
Lyria returned from the abyss, but she was no longer the girl they sacrificed. Shadows clung to her like a second skin. And she was not alone.
By her side stood a monster—a being of unspeakable power, one that should have torn her apart. Instead, he kneels. He speaks her name like a vow. He claims her as his bride.
The world sees him as a threat. They see her as something worse. But Lyria is done seeking their approval. Because the true danger isn’t the monster at her side—it’s the war she’s about to unleash.
Let them call her cursed. Let them call her damned. She has already chosen her side.
And the abyss? It belongs to her now.
I was pulled in by the synopsis and was thoroughly overjoyed by what I read. I feel like there is a back story here that will only add to this amazing piece , and afterward, or continuation would be awesome.
