Emily's eyes slowly opened, and she was met with a blurry vision of Ryan's face. He was leaning over her, his eyes filled with concern.
"Emily, can you hear me?" he asked, his voice soft.
Emily nodded, trying to sit up. But a wave of dizziness washed over her, and she fell back onto the bed.
Ryan caught her, holding her in his arms. "Don't try to move," he said. "You've been out for a while."
Emily's mind was foggy, but she tried to remember what had happened. They had been talking to the figure, and then...and then everything had gone black.
"What happened?" Emily asked, her voice weak.
Ryan's face was grim. "I don't know," he said. "One minute we were talking, and the next minute you just collapsed. I couldn't revive you, no matter how hard I tried."
Emily's heart was racing as she looked at Ryan. What had happened to her? And why couldn't she remember?
As she lay there, trying to piece together what had happened, Emily realized that something was off. Something didn't feel right.
And then, suddenly, it hit her. A wave of memories flooded her mind, memories that she had never known she had.
Emily's eyes widened as she looked at Ryan. "I remember," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ryan's eyes narrowed, his face filled with concern. "What do you remember?" he asked.
Emily took a deep breath, trying to process the memories that were flooding her mind. "I remember being part of the program," she said. "I remember being trained to be a soldier, to be part of Project Eternity."
Ryan's eyes widened in shock. "What else do you remember?" he asked.
Emily's mind was racing as she tried to piece together the memories that were flooding her mind. "I remember being part of a team," she said. "A team of soldiers who were trained to carry out missions for the government."
Ryan's face was grim. "What kind of missions?" he asked.
Emily's heart was racing as she tried to remember. "I don't know," she said. "But I remember that we were trained to do whatever it took to complete our objectives. We were trained to be ruthless, to be efficient, and to be deadly."
Ryan's eyes narrowed, his face filled with concern. "What else do you remember?" he asked.
Emily took a deep breath, trying to process the memories that were flooding her mind. "I remember being part of a mission," she said. "A mission to take out a target. I remember being in a building, sneaking through the hallways, trying to reach the target."
Ryan's face was grim. "What happened?" he asked.
Emily's heart was racing as she tried to remember. "I don't know," she said. "But I remember that something went wrong. I remember that the target was not what we expected, and that we had to get out of there as fast as we could."
Ryan's eyes narrowed, his face filled with concern. "What else do you remember?" he asked.
Emily took a deep breath, trying to process the memories that were flooding her mind. "I remember being in a car," she said. "A car that was being chased by other cars. I remember that we were trying to get away, but that we were being pursued by people who wanted to kill us."
Ryan's face was grim. "What happened?" he asked.
Emily's heart was racing as she tried to remember. "I don't know," she said. "But I remember that we crashed the car, and that we had to get out of there as fast as we could."
Ryan's eyes narrowed, his face filled with concern. "What else do you remember?" he asked.
Emily took a deep breath, trying to process the memories that were flooding her mind. "I remember being in a hospital," she said. "A hospital where I was being treated for my injuries. I remember that I was in a lot of pain, and that I was trying to remember what had happened to me."
Ryan's face was grim. "What happened next?" he asked.
Emily's heart was racing as she tried to remember. "I don't know," she said. "But I remember that I was visited by a man. A man who told me that I was part of a program, and that I had been trained to be a soldier."
Ryan's eyes narrowed, his face filled with concern. "What else do you remember?" he asked.
Emily took a deep breath, trying to process the memories that were flooding her mind. "I remember being told that I had to forget my past," she said. "That I had to forget who I was, and what I had done.
