Chapter 3: Allies in The Wild

(These scenes are after Joy met Leo,in between those 20 days, and before Joy left the endless jungle.)

The sun dipped lower in the sky as Joy and Leo moved cautiously through the dense jungle .He glanced at Leo, who walked beside him, his golden eyes scanning the surroundings.

Leo stopped abruptly, his ears perking up. A low growl rumbled in his throat as his gaze locked on something in the distance. Joy followed Leo's line of sight and spotted a massive gorilla, its muscles bulging unnaturally, its eyes glowing yellow like the infected animals he had seen earlier.

The gorilla beat its chest and let out a deafening roar, sending birds flying from the trees. Joy's grip tightened on a makeshift spear he had fashioned earlier.

"Leo, we can't fight that thing," Joy whispered.

Leo growled softly but didn't back away. The gorilla stomped closer, its powerful arms swinging menacingly.

Before Joy could react, Leo leapt forward, growling ferociously. The gorilla paused, as though assessing its new opponent. Then, to Joy's astonishment, it stopped its advance and sat back on its haunches, observing them.

Joy approached cautiously, his spear at the ready. "What… is it doing?"

The gorilla tilted its head, as though recognizing Joy. Its glowing eyes softened, and it made a series of gestures with its massive hands. Joy's breath caught in his throat.

"Sign language," he whispered.

The gestures were crude but clear: Help. Pain. Lab.

Then remembered everything about what had happened in those past days, how he ended up in this jungle, and the virus too injected in his body and on the Gorilla.

Joy lowered his spear, his heart pounding. The gorilla wasn't just infected—it was intelligent, aware. The serum hadn't just changed its body; it had enhanced its mind.

"I understand," Joy said, his voice trembling. "You want to stop this too, don't you?" The gorilla grunted in response, a sound that felt almost like agreement.

Leo circled the gorilla cautiously, then nudged Joy's leg as if urging him forward. Joy took a deep breath. "Alright. If we're going to stop Victor, we're going to need more help."

Building an army

As the days passed, Joy and Leo journeyed deeper into the jungle, because the gorilla did some sign language that an elephant was also injected and he needs help.

Joy's bond with the animals grew stronger. He discovered that the serum in his blood gave him a strange connection to them—a shared understanding. He communicated through gestures and intuition, forming a makeshift army to reclaim the lab.

Among his allies were a family of gorillas and the elephant family, led by the same intelligent gorilla he had encountered first. They scouted the jungle, locating the lab's hidden entrances.

Joy worked tirelessly, using his scientific knowledge and the resources of the jungle to prepare. He crushed herbs to create antidotes for the animals and fashioned weapons from vines and sharpened stones.

One night, as the group rested, Joy sat beside Leo, staring into the fire.

"I don't know if this will work," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But we have to try. Victor's experiments… they've gone too far."

Leo rested his head on Joy's lap, his presence a silent reassurance.

The Assault on the Lab

The moon hung high in the sky as Joy and his animal allies approached the lab. The once-hidden facility now buzzed with activity, its guards armed and on high alert.

Joy crouched behind a fallen tree, scanning the perimeter. He turned to the gorilla leader and gestured toward the fence. The gorilla nodded, signaling the others.

The elephants charged first, their massive bodies smashing through the electrified fence. Sparks flew, and alarms blared as the guards scrambled to respond.

The gorillas swung into action, their agility allowing them to take down the guards with ease. Leo led the leopards in a coordinated attack, their speed and ferocity unmatched.

Joy slipped through the chaos, using the distraction to infiltrate the lab. His goal was clear: to find the formula for the antidote and stop the virus from spreading further.

Inside, the facility was in disarray. Scientists ran for cover as Joy navigated the halls, his heart pounding. He reached the main lab and began searching for the files he needed.

All the gaurds and the people of lab were now all unconscious.

Creating the Antidote

With all the guards and people subdued, Joy worked frantically in the lab, using natural herbs and his scientific expertise to create an antidote. The gorilla leader stood by, watching him intently.

After hours of work, Joy held up a vial of the antidote. He administered it to a nearby infected animal, holding his breath as he waited.

The animal's glowing eyes dimmed, its aggressive behavior fading. Joy let out a sigh of relief. "We did it," he said, turning to Leo. "Now let's end this."
