A nuclear bomb, at times, can bring not only destruction but also rebirth.
The young man sealed within the crystal was named Onisia, the proxy of the Eternal Station. Like Yore, he possessed immense power.
But he had been sealed within the crystal by the true master of the Eternal Station, who prophesied that only when the station reached true eternity would he be freed from the crystal's seal.
Onisia had never understood what true eternity meant.
As the proxy, he yearned for freedom every moment. He had nearly infinite life and could see everything happening within the Eternal Station.
Thus, during the times when players entered the station, Onisia struggled relentlessly, attempting to use blood and human nature to break free from the crystal's seal. But all his efforts ended in failure.
Now, however, he began to understand what true eternity was.
The Eternal Station was a malformation society. Over the countless times players passed through, the station experienced repeated upheavals of power. Sometimes the lower class won; other times, the upper class emerged victorious.
Yet, no matter the outcome, after decades or even centuries, the once victorious lower class would become the new upper class.
And the victorious upper class would continue to oppress the lower class endlessly.
Wasn't this a form of eternity? But it wasn't the eternity the master desired.
He wanted an Eternal Station that thrived endlessly, filled with light and future, free from oppression, resistance, and the gap between rich and poor.
On this point, the doctor and that deity had reached an agreement.
And the only one capable of creating such eternity was Onisia himself.
Because the doctor knew that humans alone could never achieve such eternity.
Humans were inherently selfish. Even if he could overcome all obstacles and lead humanity to temporary eternity, what would happen after his death? After Jon's death? Humanity would inevitably fall back into the painful cycle.
The only way to achieve an endless future was through one path.
This was what a time traveler had once told him. That person had also brought something that could release Onisia.
The doctor wanted to give the upper-class nobles a chance. If they agreed to his plan and made compromises, they could all share in this bright future.
But they were too immersed in their selfishness, an ocean that would eventually drown them.
In the next moment, Zhou Xing and Kriminna vanished, leaving only [Death's Roar] before the young man.
"Come out," Onisia said slowly.
Zhao Kuor's heart skipped a beat. Honestly, until now, he had no idea what was happening. The young man in the crystal seemed both eerie and erratic, laughing and crying like a madman.
Onisia sighed. "You're as cautious as ever. But isn't all this what you hoped to see?"
Seeing that Zhao Kuor still hadn't emerged, Onisia spoke again. "Let's make a deal."
"After I send you out of the Eternal Station, you can press the button in your hand and detonate this [Death's Roar]."
"Don't worry. I'll use a special method to confine the explosion to this cavern. When that happens, Death's Roar will destroy the crystal sealing me, and I'll gain true freedom."
Death's Roar could actually help this guy break free from the seal?
Zhao Kuor frowned. But now that he'd been exposed, hiding was pointless.
So he stepped out slowly, though Tang Yingying remained hidden around the corner.
He had always been cautious.
Looking at the young man sealed in the crystal, Zhao Kuor asked, "Why should I release you? What's in it for me?"
He had no fondness or trust for this so-called evil god from the book.
Onisia smiled as he looked at the somewhat familiar young man. "I'm the proxy of the Eternal Station. You may not know this yet, but as long as the proxy wills it, I can keep you here forever."
"Then let's stay here forever. I think the Eternal Station is quite nice, especially the upper world," Zhao Kuor said indifferently.
Onisia shook his head. "No, you have more important things to do."
With that, a badge appeared before Zhao Kuor. It resembled the Lushan Badge, but this one was divided into black and white, with clear hierarchy.
On the white and black areas were two characters: "Eternity."
[Eternal Badge]
[Players holding this badge gain immunity to death once. Upon revival, all attributes increase by 5 points.]
[Hidden effect: Slightly boosts Luck recovery, 4 points per hour.]
Seeing the badge's description, Zhao Kuor's pupils contracted sharply.
The Eternal Badge could grant players immunity to death, and upon revival, it would boost attributes. That added up to a full 20 attribute points!
"How about it? As long as you agree to press the button, this badge is yours," Onisia said with a smile. He knew Zhao Kuor wouldn't refuse.
Zhao Kuor's eyes showed clear hesitation.
Onisia continued, "I know what you're afraid of, but there's no need. This [Death's Roar] was sent by your future self, wasn't it? What does that mean? Perhaps you understand better than I do."
Indeed, the blueprint for Death's Roar and the shattered Lucky Dice had been sent by his future self through time.
This meant that after leaving the Eternal Station and detonating the bomb, he wouldn't face any danger.
It seemed like a paradox of time... After a moment of hesitation, Zhao Kuor finally took the Eternal Badge.
With this badge, he now had a "get out of death free" card, giving him the courage to take risks.
But he still didn't agree immediately. Instead, he said, "You must swear that once I release you, you will never harm me or those around me."
Onisia nodded with a bitter smile, then spoke in an almost abstruse language.
Though Zhao Kuor couldn't understand it, he somehow knew it was an ancient oath. Breaking it would result in severe punishment.
Finally, Zhao Kuor nodded and said one last thing. "Tell me what exactly happened in the Eternal Station."
As an observer, he was still completely in the dark.
In truth, the ones truly clueless were the players who had arrived at the Eternal Station less than two days ago.
Most of them had been escorted to the upper class as soon as they arrived at the station, then gathered together and told to attack the lower class, with rewards for each kill.
Just as they were thinking about the rewards, the order was canceled.
Later, they were told the war had begun, but before they could even reach the lower class, they inexplicably found themselves back on their own trains, leaving the Eternal Station.
Almost everyone was confused.
What happened? They had no sense of participation. But at least they received some Metro Coins or items as gifts from the upper class of the Eternal Station.
Only Zhao Kuor understood the full truth. He looked at the red button in his hand and pressed it.
