Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Psychiatric Ward
Two days after their failed suicide attempts, the Alistair siblings found themselves in a place they never imagined: the psychiatric ward of Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
Their partners had made a difficult decision—they could no longer pretend that everything was fine. They loved the Alistair siblings, but they also knew that love alone was not enough to heal such deep wounds.
So, with heavy hearts, they entrusted their loved ones to professional care.
Victoria Alistair
Victoria sat on her bed, dressed in a blue hospital gown. Her hands were still trembling, her mind blank.
Amir sat in a chair across from her, his eyes red from lack of sleep. "Victoria..."
She didn't respond.
"I'm not going anywhere," Amir finally said. "I know you're mad at me for bringing you here. But I'd rather have you hate me than lose you."
For the first time since being admitted, Victoria looked at him. Her eyes were filled with exhaustion and wounds too deep to hide.
"Whatever," she murmured weakly.
But when Amir took her hand, she didn't pull away.
Rebecca Alistair
Rebecca still felt dizzy from the overdose. Her hands were marked with IV needle scars, and her body felt heavy.
Ethan stood near the window, gazing at the bright Los Angeles sky. "I almost lost you."
Rebecca closed her eyes. She hated looking weak, but this time, she was too tired to pretend.
"You can leave if you want," she said softly.
Ethan turned sharply. "I'm not leaving."
Rebecca let out a small, cynical laugh. "I can't work from here. My company needs me."
"You are more important."
Rebecca fell silent. It was the first time in her life that someone had considered her more important than her ambition.
And that terrified her.
Madison Alistair
Madison sat in the corner of the room, hugging her knees. She had lost a drastic amount of weight, her face gaunt.
Lea Marie held a tray of food in her hands, her face filled with despair. "You need to eat."
Madison shook her head slightly.
Lea set the tray down on the table and knelt before her. "I love you, Madison. I'll wait for you. But I can't watch you slowly waste away like this."
Madison finally lifted her face. Her eyes were glassy. "I don't know how to stop."
Lea took her hand. "We'll figure it out together."
Madison bit her lip. For the first time, she wanted to believe.
Davis Alistair
Davis's wounds still stung, but the shame hit him harder. He sat on the bed, staring at the bandages on his arms.
The door opened, and a petite woman with black hair stepped in. Akina Kurosawa.
She closed the door gently before looking at Davis with an unreadable expression.
"I'm an idiot, aren't I?" Davis said, trying to smile.
Akina didn't smile back. "I almost lost you." Her voice trembled.
Davis wanted to joke, to say he was fine. But when he saw Akina's tears fall, he knew that this time, no words could fix anything.
"I'm sorry," he whispered.
Akina shook her head. "I don't want an apology. I want you to live."
Davis looked at her for a long time. Then, for the first time since it happened, he let his tears fall.
Sadie Alistair
Sadie stared at the white wall in front of her, listening to the slow beeping of the monitor. She didn't know whether to feel relieved or disappointed that Ravi had stopped her.
Ravi sat in the chair beside her bed, his hands clasped together. "Do you know why I'm here?" he finally asked.
Sadie shook her head.
"Because I can't imagine a world without Sadie Alistair in it."
Sadie looked away, feeling her eyes start to burn.
"You need help. And that's okay," Ravi continued. "I'm here. I'll always be here."
Sadie wanted to argue, to say she didn't deserve any of this. But the words were too weak to come out.
Corina Alistair
Corina still felt weak. Her chest was heavy, her lungs still recovering from the asthma attack that nearly took her life.
Malik sat beside her bed, his large hand holding her much smaller one.
"Why did you do this?" His voice was broken.
Corina looked at him with tired eyes. "I'm exhausted."
Malik took a deep breath, gripping her hand tighter. "I know. But I will never be tired of you."
Corina felt something warm slide down her cheek. She didn't know if it was tears or the remnants of wounds that hadn't fully healed.
But for the first time, she didn't want to be alone anymore.
