The Watcher

Seo-jin's breath hitched as his eyes locked onto the figure standing in the shadows. The streetlight flickered again, momentarily illuminating the alleyway.

Nobody was there.

But he knew what he saw.

His fingers curled around his phone as he took a shaky step backward. Keep moving. Don't look back. The voice in his head was urgent, yet his body refused to obey. He lingered, scanning the darkness.

Then, another message arrived.

> Unknown [11:48 PM]: Go home, Seo-jin. You're not ready for the truth.

His pulse pounded in his ears. Who are they? How do they know my name?

Seo-jin didn't wait to find out. He turned on his heel and ran.

The moment he slammed the door shut behind him, he pressed his back against it, panting. His small apartment felt suffocating, the silence stretching in a way that made his skin crawl. His hands trembled as he locked the door, double-checking the latch before backing away.

Was it paranoia? Or was he really being watched?

A sudden vibration in his hand made him flinch. His phone. Another message.

But this time, it wasn't from the unknown number.

> Detective Kang Hyun-woo [11:52 PM]: If anything strange happens, call me. Immediately.

Seo-jin hesitated before typing back.

> Seo-jin [11:53 PM]: I think someone's watching me.

His message was marked as read almost instantly. But no reply came.

Not yet.
