The sun was beginning to set as Seo-jin and Hyun-woo arrived at Hanwol's abandoned train station. The place had been out of service for over a decade, yet the eerie stillness made it feel as if time had completely stopped.
Seo-jin shivered, gripping his jacket. "Min-jae was last seen here… Why would he come to a place like this?"
Hyun-woo scanned the surroundings, his posture tense. "Let's find out."
The entrance was blocked by rusted metal gates, but a section of the fence had long been broken. They slipped through, stepping onto the platform. Cracked tiles and overgrown weeds painted a picture of neglect.
Seo-jin's heart pounded. Min-jae was here.
Hyun-woo moved ahead, flashlight in hand. "Stay close."
They walked past the empty ticket booths and toward the train tracks. A cold gust of wind whistled through the hollow station, sending an uneasy chill down Seo-jin's spine.
Then, he saw it.
Near the edge of the platform, something was scratched into the concrete. Seo-jin crouched, tracing the letters with his fingers.
> HELP ME.
The scratches were uneven, as if carved in a hurry.
Seo-jin's stomach twisted. "Min-jae…"
Hyun-woo knelt beside him, studying the marks. "If he had time to write this, he wasn't taken immediately."
Seo-jin swallowed hard. "Then… where did he go?"
Before Hyun-woo could respond, a sudden sound echoed through the station—a soft thud from inside one of the abandoned train cars.
Seo-jin's breath hitched.
Hyun-woo instantly stood, placing a hand on his gun. "Stay behind me."
Seo-jin barely had time to nod before Hyun-woo moved toward the old train car. The door was slightly open, revealing only darkness inside.
Hyun-woo raised his flashlight and pushed the door open. The hinges groaned. The interior was just as abandoned as the rest of the station—rows of torn seats, shattered windows, and dust that hadn't been disturbed for years.
And yet, there were fresh footprints on the floor.
Seo-jin pointed. "Someone was just here."
Hyun-woo followed the tracks, leading them deeper inside. The air was heavy, the silence oppressive. Then—
A faint beep.
Hyun-woo froze. "Seo-jin, step back—"
But before he could react, the train's emergency announcement system crackled to life.
A distorted voice echoed through the empty train.
> "Seo-jin… you should have listened."
Then—the lights inside flickered violently.
Seo-jin stumbled backward, his heart racing. "Who—?!"
The speakers buzzed again, but this time, all they heard was distorted laughter.
Hyun-woo grabbed Seo-jin's wrist. "We need to go. Now."
Just as they turned to leave, a metal panel slammed shut behind them.
They were trapped.
And someone was watching.
