Chapter 2: A World of Hidden Wonders

A Place Among the Losers

Levi Morningstar had spent centuries mastering power. In another life, he was feared, respected, and untouchable. But here, in the small town of Derry, surrounded by a group of misfit kids, he found himself in uncharted territory—friendship.

After the Losers' Club found him near Neibolt House, they took him in without hesitation. Ben Hanscom convinced his mother to let Levi stay with them, and just like that, he had a place to sleep, warm meals, and a strange sense of belonging.

At first, it was… uncomfortable.

They treated him like one of them—pulling him into bike races, swimming trips, and late-night campfires by the river. They laughed, fought, and told secrets. It was a life without schemes, wars, or shadows.

For the first time in centuries, Levi wasn't a ruler, a warrior, or a monster.

He was just a kid.

But deep inside, he knew this peace wouldn't last.

Because Pennywise was still watching.

And when the time came, Levi would show that he was not prey—he was the hunter.

A Spark of Magic

It started with Eddie Kaspbrak.

Eddie was always on edge, clutching his fanny pack of inhalers, ointments, and disinfectants like a lifeline. One afternoon, while they were exploring the Barrens, he tripped over a fallen log and scraped his knee badly.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Eddie panicked, staring at the blood trickling down his leg. "This is bad. This is really bad! I could get infected!"

"Eds, it's just a scratch," Richie groaned.

"I could get gangrene, Richie!" Eddie shot back, reaching for his disinfectant.

Levi sighed. This was going to be annoying.

Without thinking, he reached out, placing a hand over the wound. His fingers tingled, and suddenly, golden light radiated from his palm. The air hummed softly as the skin stitched itself back together, leaving no trace of the injury.

Silence.

Eddie stared. Then he screamed.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"

The other Losers turned, eyes wide.

"You—" Bill stammered.

"Did you just—" Beverly began.

Levi sighed. So much for keeping secrets.

"Yeah," he admitted. "I used magic."

They didn't scream or run away. Instead, they just stared, trying to process what they had just seen.

"Magic," Mike finally said.

Levi nodded.

"Like… actual magic?" Stan asked skeptically.

Levi pulled out his wand—a beautifully crafted piece of Elder wood, dark and ancient. He flicked it, and instantly, the pebbles around them levitated into the air, floating gently before settling back down.

The Losers gasped.

Ben's jaw dropped. "Holy crap."

Beverly grinned. "That is the most badass thing I've ever seen."

Richie grabbed Levi's face.

"You mean to tell me—you're a freaking wizard?"

Levi smirked. "More or less."

For the first time in his life, his magic wasn't met with fear or envy.

It was met with awe.

Testing the Limits

Once the Losers accepted that Levi could use magic, they wouldn't stop pestering him about it.

"Can you fly?" Richie asked.

"Can you turn invisible?" Stan added.

"Can you control the weather?"

Levi chuckled. "No, but I can do this."

He raised his wand, muttered a quiet spell, and suddenly—a bright, fiery phoenix burst from the tip, soaring through the air before vanishing into golden sparks.

The group stared in awe.

"That was amazing," Ben whispered.

"Do it again!" Eddie demanded.

Levi smirked. "Not for free."

Richie groaned. "Oh great, our new friend is a magician and a businessman."

For the first time in centuries, Levi laughed—not out of cruelty or mockery, but because, for once…

He felt happy.

A Night of Secrets

That evening, they gathered around a campfire by the river, talking about their worst fears.

Bill went first. "I… I still dream about Georgie." His voice was quiet. "About him calling for me in the storm drain."

The Losers fell into a heavy silence.

Ben spoke next. "I'm scared of being alone again."

Beverly hesitated. "...My dad."

Eddie muttered, "Diseases."

"Clowns," Richie admitted. "Fucking hate 'em."

Levi listened. Then, when the time came, he spoke the truth.

"I'm afraid of losing all of you."

That stunned them. Levi had always been powerful, always in control. But now, for the first time, he had something worth protecting.

A family.

Before anyone could respond, he waved his wand, and suddenly—thousands of golden fireflies filled the night air, flickering softly like stars.

A silent promise.

No matter what happened…

He would protect them.

And soon, Pennywise would learn what it meant to challenge a Morningstar.
