Dark Night Rock Singer

In the restaurant, the Ye family warmly welcomed Gu Muchen.

But compared to their enthusiasm, his cold expression made him seem distant.

"Muchen, try this dish. I think it’s really delicious," Ye Shiyun said eagerly as she sat beside him, serving him food.

Gu Muchen lowered his eyes and glanced at the dish Ye Shiyun had placed in front of him.

A flash of disgust crossed his face. He hated when people touched his things, especially food.

At that moment, a faint fragrance drifted into his nose.

Even though it was mixed with the smell of oil and smoke, his sharp senses still picked it up.

Following the scent, Gu Muchen saw a maid, Ye Chu, carrying a dish as she walked over. She placed it on the table skillfully and then quickly stepped back.

Ye Chu deliberately chose a spot far from him to put the dish, hoping he wouldn’t recognize her.

Ye Shiyun had wanted to show off in front of Ye Chu, to let her see that she would soon be Gu Muchen’s fiancée.

But instead, she accidentally drew Gu Muchen’s attention to Ye Chu.

Ye Shiyun glared at Ye Chu fiercely and quickly picked up more food to serve Gu Muchen, trying to distract him.

"Shiyun, have you ever been to a temple to pray for blessings?" Gu Muchen suddenly asked.

"Huh?" Ye Shiyun was caught off guard, not knowing how to answer.

Gu Muchen wasn’t really expecting an answer from her. He had just randomly thought of the peace charm he had found at the hotel and asked without much thought.

For some reason, whenever he looked at Ye Shiyun, even though she was always gentle, considerate, kind, and generous, he still felt that she didn’t match the small peace and fortune charm.

Outside the Restaurant

Ye Chu walked out with her head down, but she overheard people whispering nearby.

"Did you hear? Gu Muchen, the future head of the Gu Group, is going to be engaged to our Miss."

So that was Gu Muchen, the feared second young master of the business world.

Ye Chu thought to herself and left without stopping.

Late at Night

The sky was dark, filled with stars, and the city lights reflected in a colorful glow.

The bar was noisy.

Young men and women laughed and played under flashing lights, swaying under the influence of alcohol.

The sound of rhythmic drumming filled the stage. A woman in a green sequined strapless dress stepped onto the platform.

The dress was short, barely covering her hips, revealing a pair of long, slender legs.

She wore high heels of the same color, her every step graceful and confident.

On her head was a large, exaggerated wig, silver-white, shining under the bright lights.

Her makeup was extremely heavy, with thick foundation, dramatic eyeshadow, and bright red lips.

She was stunning, but it was impossible to tell what she really looked like.

Holding the microphone in one hand, she stood confidently on stage, her body swaying to the rhythm of the drums.

As the intro ended, she raised the microphone to her lips.

The moment she started singing, her rich and powerful rock voice shook the room, completely captivating the crazy crowd on the dance floor.

The music surged, her explosive energy taking over, carrying the entire song with burning passion. The audience was ignited with excitement.

As the last note faded, she struck a stylish and effortless pose to end the performance.

"Jenny! Jenny!"

The crowd roared, their cheers shaking the entire venue.

On stage, Ye Chu smiled slightly at the enthusiastic audience. She removed the microphone from the stand and stepped to the edge of the stage, interacting with the guests naturally.

As "Jenny" greeted the crowd, the emcee started announcing the gifts.

"Mr. Wang sent Jenny two flower baskets. Thank you, Mr. Wang! Mr. Song sent Jenny five fruit platters. Thank you, Mr. Song! Mr. Zhao sent Jenny a fruit basket. Thank you, Mr. Zhao!"

Then, a man from the crowd suddenly called out.

"Jenny! Here are ten bottles of beer! If you can drink them all right now, I’ll cover everyone’s expenses for the whole night—triple the amount!"

A tattooed man with a lecherous look stared at "Jenny" on stage. As soon as he spoke, the whole room erupted into cheers.

Tripled expenses? This guy was really generous!

Immediately, ten bottles of beer were placed on the stage, and the entire crowd started chanting.

"Drink! Drink! Drink!"

The atmosphere grew livelier. Ye Chu stared at the ten bottles, calculating in her head how much she could earn from the tripled expenses.

"What's wrong? Don’t want to drink?" The tattooed man smirked. "That’s fine too. Come down and let me hold you and give you a few kisses, and I’ll still pay three times the price!"

He leaned back in his chair, one foot propped up, his eyes filled with bad intentions.

As soon as he said that, the people in the bar started shouting even louder.

"Kiss her! Kiss her!"

"Who said I won’t drink?" Ye Chu took the microphone, her voice calm as she lowered it.

Then, without hesitation, she picked up a bottle from the ground and started drinking.

The moment "Jenny" began drinking, the crowd erupted into cheers.

In the midst of the excitement, Ye Chu drank one bottle after another.

By the time she finished the last one, she slammed the empty bottle on the ground, grabbed the microphone, and looked straight at the tattooed man.

"Big brother, three times!"

The tattooed man had a fake smile on his face. He stared at the slightly drunken "Jenny," rubbing his chin. "Don’t worry, three times it is. I can afford it!"

Then, he suddenly stood up.

"Beauty, do you dare to play another game with me? If you can handle it, I’ll add five times on top of the three times!"

Ye Chu, still on stage, was already feeling dizzy from the alcohol.

Her legs were unsteady, and it felt like she was floating.

She was good at drinking, but her tolerance wasn’t great.

Normally, she should have just sung a few more songs to entertain the guests and then gone back to the hospital.

But when she thought about the money, she couldn't help but do the math in her head.

"Okay! Big brother, what game?" she asked.

"Truth or dare!" The tattooed man smirked. "I had my people put a card with a number on each seat. I’ll pick a number at random, and whoever has that number has to kiss someone of my choosing."

Kiss?

Ye Chu hesitated for a moment, but then she thought to herself, she had already lost her innocence.

What difference did one kiss make?

She smirked. "Big brother, go ahead and pick a number."

"Great! Let’s see… 183!"

As the tattooed man called out the number, everyone in the bar checked their cards.

But after a while, no one stood up.

In a corner of the bar, Qin Jingxuan tossed his card onto the table and turned to his friend, Bai Li.

"Was it you?"

Bai Li shrugged and flipped his card over. "I’m actually interested in this 'Jenny,' but no luck for me."

Qin Jingxuan then looked across the table at the man who had been silent all night, holding a glass of wine.

"Second brother, what’s your number?"

The man, Gu Muchen, looked up at Qin Jingxuan with cold eyes but didn’t say a word.

Qin Jingxuan had dragged him out tonight to celebrate his "second brother" finally being single again. Gu Muchen hadn’t wanted to come, but since he hadn’t gone out in a long time, he ended up agreeing.

Seeing that Gu Muchen was ignoring him, Qin Jingxuan simply reached out and grabbed the card in front of him.

Bai Li leaned in curiously.

The moment Qin Jingxuan flipped the card over, Bai Li’s voice rang out excitedly.

"Oh my god! We won!"
