The First Night

"Liam, I hate it..."

Moan.

"Don't be like that. This is your sister's and my wedding bed..."

A soft, teasing voice came from the master bedroom next door.

Skyler's eyes flew open, and she sat up suddenly.

Tomorrow was supposed to be her wedding day with her boyfriend, Liam. But while decorating the wedding room, she had a high fever and passed out.

Was she hearing things?

How could she hear her sister Olivia's voice?

"If your sister finds out about us, what should we do?"

The gentle voice spoke again.

Skyler's heart skipped a beat.

It was Olivia!

She wasn't imagining it. It was really her half-sister, Olivia.

How could Olivia be in the room next door with Liam?!

With weak steps, Skyler pushed open the door and walked toward the master bedroom.

It was supposed to be her and Liam's wedding room.

She had come earlier to decorate it—new mandarin duck pillowcases and a bright red quilt.

"You know, you're much purer than Skyler. That woman has no self-respect. What right does she have to question you?"

Suddenly, Liam's familiar, cold voice sounded.

Skyler had already grabbed the bedroom doorknob, but she froze.

Liam... Was it really him inside?!

He was talking about her like this!

"Liam, I didn’t know I meant so much to you. Too bad you're marrying my sister tomorrow. I really feel sorry for you. Skyler doesn’t even respect herself. Everyone in Jincheng knows she sold her body to win that award a year ago—with the professor and the judges..."

"Don’t worry. The wedding won’t happen. Skyler doesn't deserve to marry into the Lee family. I've already spoken to your father. I won’t marry a woman like her. Tomorrow, Skyler will just be a joke—a broken engagement."

Broken engagement!!!

A joke!!!

Skyler’s heart clenched painfully.

Her pupils widened in shock. She couldn't believe she was hearing such cruel and cold words from her own boyfriend.

It was Liam.

The man she had loved for years.

The one who had promised to always trust her and stand by her side.

But now, he believed the rumors and thought she had traded her body for a jewelry design award.

And because of that, he was with her half-sister, Olivia.

At that moment, Skyler felt her blood boil. Grief, anger, and injustice swirled violently inside her chest.

She wanted to rush in and scream at Liam.

But the moment she stepped forward, her legs gave out, and she nearly collapsed. Her whole body swayed as dizziness took over. The fever made it impossible for her to move properly. But no matter what, she couldn't pass out in front of those two people—even if it killed her.

She forced herself to breathe and stumbled out of the wedding room. As she stepped into the luxurious elevator, the doors closed behind her. At that moment, all her strength drained away.

Skyler fell to the cold floor, silent tears streaming down her face, blurring her vision.

She had been falsely accused and expelled from college. The only person she thought would believe her was Liam, her boyfriend. But now, she realized he was someone she had never truly known.

"Why did you give me hope if you never believed in me?"

Ding.

The elevator reached the top floor, snapping her out of her thoughts.

Skyler remained on the marble floor, her long hair messy, her eyes red and swollen from crying. One of her legs was stretched out—fair and slender, a picture of elegance even in her misery.

"Who are you?"

A low, cold voice rang out from outside the elevator.

Skyler froze.

She slowly lifted her gaze and saw a tall, imposing man standing there. He wore only a dark bathrobe, his deep black eyes sharp and emotionless. The elevator doors remained open.

The man's messy jet-black hair was still damp, and his chiseled face had a faint unnatural flush.

The bathrobe was slightly open, revealing well-defined muscles—powerful, dangerous, and enough to make anyone’s imagination run wild.

Skyler took a deep breath.

She suddenly realized where she was.

This was a top-tier luxury apartment. Each floor only had one unit.

Once the card was swiped, the elevator went straight to the resident’s home. The higher the floor, the more prestigious the owner.

Even someone like Liam, with his family’s wealth, could only afford a unit on a mid-to-high floor.

So this man... was he the resident of the top floor?

"I..." She barely got a word out before she noticed the man's thick black eyebrows knit together.

His narrow phoenix eyes held a sharp, cold glint.

"You didn’t take a shower before coming here."

His tone wasn’t a question, but a statement. There was even a hint of displeasure.

Before Skyler could respond, the man’s slender fingers suddenly grabbed her chin. His gaze studied her as if he were inspecting some kind of merchandise.

"Uh... it hurts..." A soft, delicate sound escaped Skyler’s lips.

The moment she heard herself, she was stunned.

She never knew she could make such a sound.

But the man seemed pleased.

His grip on her chin loosened slightly as he tilted his head and examined her face.

Her petite face was flushed from the fever, making her look even more like a delicate peach, ripe for the picking.

"Forget it. Just remember next time—I like clean women."

His deep voice was indifferent as he suddenly bent down and picked her up.

"Ah..."

Skyler instinctively grabbed onto his bathrobe, her whole body weak in his arms.

Why was he carrying her?

"Sir, I’m not—"

Before she could finish, the man pinched her chin and kissed her.

"Mmm..."

Her eyes widened in shock.

He wasn’t listening at all! He thought she had come to him willingly!

Bang!

The door slammed shut behind them.

Skyler's whole body was pressed against it, supported by the man’s strong palm.

His cold, masculine scent mixed with his body’s natural heat filled the space between them.

Her first kiss!!!

She had been with Liam for so long, but they had never even gone this far.

"Sir, please listen to me first—"

Her shaky voice was swallowed up by the man's lips.

His kiss was rough and overwhelming. Skyler had never been kissed like this before. She had no way to resist.

Her legs went weak, her whole body hanging onto him.

"Remember, I don’t like women who talk too much in moments like this."

The man’s large hand suddenly slapped her lightly on the backside—not too hard, but enough to be a warning.

Skyler's body trembled.

She looked up at him with tearful eyes, but the dim light and her blurred vision made it impossible to see his face clearly.

"So sweet... You smell so good."

There was a faint fragrance on her body.

A soft, sweet scent—delicate and mysterious, with a lingering hint of orchids.

"Be good. Don’t move."

The man’s deep voice was hoarse as he held her close.

Skyler's body stiffened.

She suddenly realized something.

The man’s body was burning hot, and his state seemed... unnatural.

His strength was overpowering.

"Um... sir, you're not acting normal..."

Skyler tried to struggle. She wanted to stop him.

But before she could finish her sentence—

Rip!

The sound of fabric tearing filled the air.

Her last piece of clothing... was torn apart!

Suddenly, the man’s deep and sharp eyes filled with complicated emotions, and his expression darkened.

"Is this... your first time?" He squinted at her, thinking that the woman in his arms had been specially chosen for him.

Skyler shook her head while sobbing and fiercely bit his shoulder, crying so hard she almost choked.

The man loosened his grip on her waist and kissed her red, swollen eyes. "Good girl. Remember, I am your first man. I will take responsibility for you."
