Her Sweetness 5

"No—"

Skyler woke up from the nightmare, gasping for breath.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly, her heart pounding as if she was still trapped in that dark alley.

Hoo... hoo...

She clenched the sheets under her fingers, her mind still caught in the lingering fear of being kidnapped.

But after a while, as the cool air in the room wrapped around her, her heart gradually calmed down. She blinked, adjusting to the dim lighting.

The terrifying scene from before replayed in her mind, she had been taken away, but... she was saved.

Yes, she clearly remembered, someone had rescued her.

Now, she was lying on a big bed, one that felt unfamiliar yet strangely comforting.

The room was silent, except for the faint sound of an IV drip attached to the back of her left hand.

The clear liquid flowed slowly down the tube, indicating she had received medical treatment.

Skyler let out a small breath of relief.

It was just a nightmare.

Luckily...

But in the next second, she suddenly realized something—the bedding under her was black.

The walls in her line of sight were black.

The entire room was covered in cold, dark, and heavy furnishings.

Her body stiffened.

This place… wasn’t this Logan’s bedroom?!

Skyler’s heart thumped wildly.

She had clearly been thrown out by Logan before! Why was she here again?

Panic surged through her, and she instinctively tried to sit up, but the moment she moved—

"Ah..."

A sharp soreness shot through her limbs, and she collapsed back onto the soft bed.

Her whole body ached. Her arms, legs, and even her waist felt weak, like she had been drained of all her strength.

And her head, it felt like it was about to explode. A wave of dizziness hit her, making her unable to even lift herself up.

"Skyler, you're so restless the moment you wake up. Where are you trying to go?"

A deep and husky male voice suddenly sounded from the darkness.

Skyler's breath hitched.

Her fingers curled against the sheets in shock, her body shrinking back into the bed as if she had been electrocuted.

Her mind went blank for a second.

That voice...

She swallowed and raised her misty, reddened eyes, looking towards the source of the voice.

In the dimly lit room, there were no lights turned on, but a faint red glow flickered in the air.

A tall and imposing figure sat lazily on the sofa in the corner. His long legs were crossed, his powerful frame half-hidden in the shadows.

He held a lighter in his hand, flicking it open and closed, the small flame dancing in the darkness.

That faint red glow—

It was from the friction of the lighter.

The moment Skyler recognized him, her heartbeat sped up uncontrollably.

"Lu... Logan... what are you doing here?"

She bit her lip and asked instinctively.

She didn’t address him as "Mr. Lee" like she used to. For some reason, the respectful title never even crossed her mind.

Logan raised his eyebrows, his deep gaze unreadable. His chiseled face showed no emotions.

"This is my room. If I’m not here, who else would be?" His voice was calm yet held a dangerous undertone. "Or do you prefer to see someone else?"

Skyler's breath hitched.

"I—I don’t want to see..."

She wanted to deny it immediately, but the name "Liam" almost slipped from her lips.

She quickly swallowed it down.

No.

She didn’t care about Liam.

That man was just a former boyfriend who had betrayed her. She had no lingering feelings for him.

But still, why was it that the last person she saw before losing consciousness wasn’t Liam?

"No... I don’t want to see anyone..." Skyler hesitated for a second and changed her words. "Besides, our cooperation is over. No matter who I want to see, it has nothing to do with you, Mr. Lee..."

She spoke in a firm voice, but as the last few words left her lips, she suddenly paused.

Because Logan was staring at her.

His deep and unfathomable gaze was like an abyss, locking onto her.

Skyler could feel the weight of his stare, cold and oppressive.

A chill ran down her spine.

She didn’t miss the darkness that flickered in his eyes.

Her lips parted slightly, but suddenly, she didn’t dare to continue speaking.

But even if she didn’t finish her sentence, the meaning was clear—

She and Logan no longer had anything to do with each other.

Logan could no longer interfere in her life like before.

From now on, she was free.

"Who said it has nothing to do with me?"

The deep and hoarse voice echoed in the silent room.

Skyler’s body froze.

She lifted her gaze in shock.

"What... what do you mean?"

Before she could react, she suddenly realized—

At some point, Logan had moved.

His tall and broad figure was now towering over her, pressing her soft body back onto the big bed.

His strong arms trapped her on both sides, preventing her from escaping.

His deep, narrow eyes stared straight at her, his gaze sharp and unreadable.

His well-defined features were dangerously close to hers, the air between them suffocatingly tense.

Skyler could barely breathe.

Her lips trembled slightly as she stared at him in shock.

Logan’s gaze darkened even more.

"If I say that from now on, Skyler, everything about you belongs to me..."

His voice was deep and magnetic, each word slow and deliberate.

"You are still my Mrs. Lee."

Skyler: "..."

Her mind went blank.

She blinked.

Then blinked again.

Her bright, misty eyes widened slightly, filled with surprise and disbelief.

Did she hear him wrong?

Her ears turned red instantly.

What did he mean?

She... she didn’t understand!
