ADRIEN

Ishmael escaped a strike of my sword, jumping in the air before me, with both of his elbows coming down in a brutal attack on my shoulders.

I fell to my knees.

That caused a stir within the group of guards stationed in the courtyard with us. They pushed their spears out, marching towards Ishmael in a straight line.

Any who dared to harm the King would be put down, regardless of who it was.

A wave of my hand had them stopping and marching backward.

“You need help to stop me from whomping you?” He asked in my mind, his head cocked sideways.

His annoyingly judgemental gaze had remained and it was time to wipe it off his face. Oddly enough, Aly’s face had stopped haunting the frayed edges of my mind. But I would visit her still, and halt future occurrences before they surfaced.

“You're coming with me to earth,” I stated through the mind link as I bent into stance again. Hands and weapon poised before me.
