Chapter 5 – Rewards and Relief

The camp was silent and heavy.

The morale of Konoha's ninjas was at rock bottom.

The squad had suffered a crushing defeat. Many had died, others were gravely wounded, and those who survived barely had the strength to speak.

Sal sat outside the medical tent, anxiously waiting for news about Tanaka.

He could still feel the soreness in his muscles from the excessive chakra he had burned during the battle.

"Please, let him be okay..."

Even if he wasn't the true owner of this body, the memories of the original Sal were still alive within him.

He couldn't just ignore them.

That's when one of the medical ninjas stepped out of the tent.

— "He's out of danger. The treatment was a success."

Sal let out a long sigh of relief.

— "Thank the gods..."

He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling a weight lift from his shoulders.

Now that Tanaka was safe, he could finally relax a little.

And, more importantly...

— "System, open Chest Shop."

The translucent blue interface appeared before his eyes.

He had earned Change Points from the battle, and now it was time to spend them.

He had a total of 5,400 Change Points.

The Rare Chest cost 1,000 points each.

Without hesitation, he bought five at once.

---

> [Rare Chest opened!]

Reward: 3 Military Pills

> [Rare Chest opened!]

Reward: 10 Steel Kunai

> [Rare Chest opened!]

Reward: 15 Sharp Shuriken

---

Sal raised an eyebrow.

— "You've got to be kidding me."

These items were useful, but nothing that truly justified spending 1,000 points each.

With a sigh, he opened the fourth chest.

That's when his eyes widened.

---

> [Rare Chest opened!]

Reward: Technique – Kage Bunshin no Jutsu! (Shadow Clone Jutsu!)

---

Sal froze in shock.

— "That jutsu?!"

The Shadow Clone Jutsu was one of the most broken techniques in the ninja world! Unlike regular clones, which were mere illusions, Kage Bunshins were physical duplicates that could fight, think, and even learn!

— "This is perfect!"

But one chest still remained unopened.

Heart pounding, he opened the fifth chest.

---

> [Rare Chest opened!]

Reward: Training Manual – Paper Painting!

---

Sal's eyes widened even further.

— "Paper Painting? Wasn't that the technique from that guy in One Piece?"

He quickly opened the reward description.

---

> A technique that allows the user to move their body as if it were paper, bending and dodging attacks with absurd fluidity.

Modified by the system to fit the ninja world, now requiring chakra to function.

---

Sal immediately understood.

In One Piece, people had ridiculously strong bodies, so Paper Painting was purely a physical skill.

But in the world of Naruto, where bodies were more fragile, the system had modified the technique to consume chakra, compensating for the weakness.

He closed the system screen, now completely energized.

Shadow Clones and Paper Painting...

With these abilities, he had taken a massive leap in strength!

At that moment, someone approached.

— "There you are!"

Sal turned and saw Nawaki walking over with a grin.

— "I've been looking for you, man!"

Nawaki sat beside Sal and gave his shoulder a friendly slap.

— "Thanks for saving me from that trap!"

He chuckled.

— "Seriously, I almost died! I thought Orochimaru would grab me, but you came out of nowhere! How'd you do that?"

Sal gave a faint smile.

— "Let's just say I'm really fast."

Nawaki laughed out loud.

— "Really fast? You vanished and reappeared in a flash! It was like what they say about that guy from Kumo—the Raikage!"

Sal scratched the back of his head, not wanting to reveal too much.

— "Well, let's just say I've trained my speed a lot."

Nawaki grinned and stood up.

— "Anyway, I owe you one! When we get back to Konoha, I'm buying you sake! Or ramen. Your pick!"

Sal chuckled.

— "Deal. But you're paying."

Nawaki walked off laughing, while Sal gazed up at the sky for a moment.

— "Changing fate... I really did it, didn't I?"

He closed his eyes.

Slowly but surely, the world of Naruto was beginning to change.
