The supernatural status panel had changed, and the reason for this change was the completion of the advancement ritual.
"Did I just become a Spirit Medium like that?"
Irina's eyes widened in surprise. She instinctively glanced at Emma, who was still sleeping beside her.
The advancement ritual for a Spirit Medium required a supernatural being to sleep for a night beside someone they recognized as an enemy. Irina had previously worried about how she would complete this ritual, yet somehow, in her half-asleep state, the ritual had been fulfilled.
"Maybe Emma really counts as an enemy to me? Thinking about it, she has always been hostile toward me. Perhaps that very hostility allowed the ritual to succeed."
Irina pondered this possibility and soon came to understand what had happened.
She stopped focusing on Emma and instead turned her attention back to the changes on her supernatural status panel.
Now that she had advanced to the second-tier class of Spirit Medium, the black dot representing the class had turned into a glowing point, branching into two separate paths, signifying the two available third-tier classes she could progress into.
Magician.
Sorcerer.
These were the two possible advancements for a Spirit Medium. Irina recalled that Fred had aimed to become a Magician. In Fred's notes, he had recorded the advancement ritual for a Magician: to perform an act of deception that no one could see through. Fred had attempted a murder trick but had failed when Irina saw through it, preventing his advancement.
Interestingly, it wasn't just the Spirit Medium class that had branched out. The Warrior path, which Irina had not chosen, had also revealed two possible third-tier classes.
For Warriors, the possible advancements were:
Duelist.
Heavy Armored Fighter.
"A first-tier class only has two options: Spirit Medium or Warrior. Then Spirit Medium and Warrior each have two more choices, leading to a total of four third-tier classes. If this pattern continues, does that mean these four third-tier classes will each branch into two more? That would mean eight fourth-tier classes… sixteen fifth-tier classes… Will even more classes appear later?"
Irina's mind raced with speculation. She then tried adding experience points to the Duelist class but failed. However, when she tried adding points to the Warrior class, she successfully allocated ten points.
From this, Irina realized that she could indeed possess multiple classes at once, but she needed to meet all the prerequisite conditions to do so.
For now, she decided not to spend the remaining experience points. She wasn't in a rush to acquire multiple classes immediately—she believed that fully developing one third-tier class would be far stronger than spreading her experience points thin across multiple.
However, the experience cost for a third-tier class was a staggering 1000 points.
"I'll save up experience to unlock my Spirit Medium abilities first. I won't worry about secondary classes for now."
With this decision in mind, Irina looked over the three abilities available for a Spirit Medium.
Paper Puppet: Allows a piece of paper to take on the form of a human and follow simple commands. Has no combat ability.
Air Bullet: Forms compressed air into a bullet to attack a target.
Slipping Spell: Creates a slippery surface within a certain area, including floors and walls. Useful for cleaning but can also be used in combat for surprise attacks.
Among these, Irina had already witnessed Air Bullet in action when Fred had used it. It seemed to be the most offensive ability of the three, while the others had more utility-based functions.
Now that she had unlocked the Spirit Medium class, she could also see the abilities of the Warrior class.
Limb Reinforcement: Temporarily strengthens limbs, making them more durable and agile, enhancing close combat skills. Duration depends on the user's supernatural strength.
Endurance Boost: Increases stamina, allowing for long-distance travel without fatigue.
Neural Reflex: Temporarily enhances reflex speed. Duration depends on the user's supernatural strength.
The Warrior class had three abilities as well, one of which seemed to be a passive trait, while the other two were temporary enhancement skills that likely couldn't be used continuously.
"Irina, you're up early."
At some point, Emma had opened her eyes and was looking at her with a displeased expression.
Irina looked at Emma with a much softer gaze than before. While Emma certainly had an attitude that made her want to punch her, the fact that she had unknowingly helped complete Irina's advancement ritual made her a bit more tolerable.
However, Irina's gentle expression only made Emma feel uncomfortable. Her tone grew even colder.
"Irina, I've made up my mind. From now on, I will stay here and accompany Becky. So don't even think about clinging to her all the time anymore."
Irina immediately retracted her previous thoughts. This girl really did deserve to be pinned to the ground and stomped on.
If Emma stayed by Becky's side, how was Irina supposed to continue gaining experience points from her?
Without hesitation, Irina jumped out of bed and suddenly yelled, "Princess Emma! Even if you don't like me, how could you hit me? Boo hoo! I won't come here anymore!"
With those words, Irina ran out of the room dramatically.
Emma: "???"
Before she could even process what had just happened, she heard an indignant voice from behind.
"Sister! Did you hit Irina?"
Emma spun around to see Becky, who had just woken up, puffing her cheeks in anger.
"I didn't! I swear I didn't lay a hand on her, Becky!"
"Sister, you're too much! I don't like you anymore. Go away! I don't want you staying here!"
"I really didn't hit her!"
"I don't want to hear your excuses! I'm going to find Irina and comfort her!"
Fuming, Becky jumped out of bed, hastily put on some clothes, and stormed out.
Emma was so enraged she could barely contain herself. Everyone outside praised Princess Irina of the Bright Moon Kingdom as kind, innocent, and pure, but those people had to be blind!
Just as Irina stepped out of Becky's house, she heard Becky's voice calling after her.
"Irina! Irina…!"
Irina immediately slapped her own cheek a few times, just enough to redden her face without actually hurting herself. Then she turned around with a wounded expression.
When Becky caught up, she saw that Irina's face was unevenly flushed—one side normal and the other unnaturally red. That was definitely a slap mark!
"I'm so sorry, Irina! I didn't think my sister could be so mean. Does it hurt?" Becky ran up, stood on her tiptoes, and gently touched Irina's reddened cheek.
Irina seized the opportunity, taking Becky's soft little hand in her own and putting on an even more pitiful expression.
With just a few simple words, Irina successfully convinced Becky to follow her to her own villa, where she happily racked up experience points while cuddling Becky in her room.
"Feilin, prepare breakfast for Becky as well. Bring it up to my room when it's ready. Also, go to Becky's villa and inform her maid that she'll be staying here all day and won't be returning."
"I understand."
Feilin had no idea what had happened, but she didn't question it.
Meanwhile, next door, upon hearing this news, Emma was so furious that she smashed a teacup onto the floor.
