2 weeks later
Later that day with his training with Roswaal, as Koyami was on Subaru head amplifying both his Yin and Yang magic, just like what Puck does too Emilia Ice magic.
Subaru then stopped as he looked at Emilia. "Now that I think about How do you even use Ice Magic, like is it an advanced form of Fire Magic".
Emilia shakes her head as she spoke. "No what I do use Fire magic, and then Puck reverse it into Ice Magic".
Subaru blinked. "Wait... what?"
He looked at Emilia with a deadpan expression. "So you're telling me... Ice Magic isn't its own thing? It's just reversed Fire Magic?"
Emilia nodded, smiling. "Yup! Puck handles the reversal for me, so I don't have to think too hard about it."
Subaru facepalmed. "So basically, if I figure out how to reverse my own magic, I could theoretically use Ice Magic too?"
Roswaal, who had been listening, chuckled. "Ooooh, quite perceptive, Subaru-kun. Yes, with the right control over Yin and Yang magic, you could manipulate the temperature of Fire Magic, essentially creating Ice Magic."
Subaru processed this for a moment. "So magic in this world works on weird logic... but if I apply what I know from anime and video games..."
He looked at Koyami, the little cat spirit sitting on his head. "Koyami, can you reverse my Fire Magic into Ice?"
Koyami tilted its head, then yawned. "Maybe~ but only if you feed me lots of mana."
Subaru groaned. "Why do all spirits demand mana like it's their life source?"
Emilia giggled. "Because it is their life source."
Subaru sighed. "Great. More mana-draining allies."
Subaru then actived [Witch Lie], ready to make this work. "Hey Roswaal, after seeing you do this for a while I think I figured out how too do this".
Roswaal looked as he Spoke. "Subaru you have Divin Blessing of Sorcery and have all 6 of the elements, if you learn something from me by watching me do I wo-".
He was cut as he just saw Subaru Air Glide, obviously Subaru is not gonna tell it was the witch that though him this but still nice too the look in everyone's face.
Ram opend the window as she was ready to pore water as she saw what happend dn close. "I am gonna ignore what I just saw and go on with my day".
Roswaal's eye twitched as he watched Subaru casually floating in the air with Air Glide.
"Hoooh~?" Roswaal grinned, though there was a clear twitch in his expression. "That is quite an interesting deeevelopment, Subaru-kun."
Subaru smirked, landing smoothly on the ground. "What can I say? I'm just that talented."
Roswaal narrowed his eyes. "You definitely learned that from someone else… but I suppose I will let it sliiide."
Subaru internally sighed in relief. "Good thing Roswaal doesn't know I have the Witches as my personal magic tutors…"
Meanwhile, Emilia was clapping excitedly. "Wow, Subaru! That was amazing!"
Subaru puffed out his chest proudly. "Of course! With my genius, learning new magic is—"
Before he could finish, Roswaal suddenly threw a fireball at him. Subaru barely dodged, his body moving on instinct.
Roswaal smirked. "Then let's see if you can handle a real test~."
Subaru gulped. "Oh crap."
[Minerva then spoke in his head. "If he breaks even a bone in your body, I am telling Koyami too attack him in his main area"]
Subaru internally winced at Minerva's protective threat.
"Oi, oi, Minerva, chill!" Subaru thought back. "If you send Koyami after Roswaal, he might actually take it as a challenge!"
Minerva huffed. "I don't care. If he hurts you, I'll make sure he regrets it."
Meanwhile, Roswaal smirked, his eyes glinting with curiosity. "You've been improving quiiiite a lot lately, Subaru-kun. I wonder—" He suddenly vanished and reappeared behind Subaru. "—how you will handle this?"
Subaru barely had time to react before a gust of wind blasted toward him. Instinctively, he activated Air Glide, dodging upward just in time.
Emilia gasped. "Subaru!"
Roswaal chuckled. "Not bad~! But let's see if you can keep up!"
Subaru gritted his teeth. "Why does it feel like every time I get stronger, people just want to test how breakable I am?!"
Subaru barely had time to think before Roswaal launched another spell—El Fura! A massive gust of compressed wind shot toward him, slicing through the air like a blade.
"Crap!" Subaru instinctively activated Yang Travel, warping out of the way just in time. He reappeared a few meters away, only for Roswaal to already be in front of him with a smug grin.
"Too slow~!"
Roswaal's fist, enhanced with Yin Magic, came crashing down. Subaru hastily activated Shadow Step, sinking into the ground and reappearing behind Roswaal, panting.
"Oi, oi, what the hell is this?! I thought we were training, not trying to kill me!" Subaru yelled.
Roswaal smirked, twirling a finger. "Ohhh, but Subaru-kun, this is training! If you can't handle me, how do you expect to protect Emilia-sama against real threats?"
Subaru clenched his teeth. "He's not wrong, but does he really have to be such a damn show-off?!"
Minerva's voice rang in his head. "If he lands even one real hit, I'm breaking every bone in his body!"
Satella's voice joined in, softer but firm. "Subaru… focus. You can do this."
Taking a deep breath, Subaru activated Air Glide, propelling himself upward and flipping in the air. As Roswaal fired another El Fura, Subaru twisted his body mid-air, summoning a small orb of Yang Magic and throwing it straight at Roswaal.
The impact sent a shockwave through the training field, dust flying everywhere.
Emilia covered her eyes. "Did Subaru… win?"
As the dust settled, Roswaal stood there, unharmed, a pleased smile on his face. "Ohhh, excellent, Subaru-kun! You really are improving~!"
Subaru groaned, dropping to the ground, exhausted. "You… insane… clown…"
Ram walked by, glanced at the scene, and sighed. "I'm ignoring whatever just happened and continuing with my day."
Meanwhile, Koyami purred on Subaru's head, lightly tapping him with her tail as if saying, "Good job, dummy."
[Echidna then spoke in his head. "As his former teacher I am disappointed he is bullying".
Sekhmet then spoke in his head as she yawn. "I wonder if there is number higher then 1 we can put in out shit".
Pandora his radiating killing energy which almost leaked out of Subaru. "I think we should make a whole category just for him"]
Elsa and Meili then came as they were done cooking for everyone, as Elsa then spoken. "So what did we miss".
Subaru, still lying on the ground, groaned. "You missed Roswaal beating the crap out of me in the name of 'training'".
Elsa chuckled, setting down a tray of food. "Oh? That sounds entertaining."
Meili tilted her head. "Did he break anything?"
[Minerva's voice rang out again in Subaru mind. "If he did, I would've already jumped out of Subaru's soul and punched him myself!"]
Roswaal simply laughed, crossing his arms. "Fufufu~ Subaru-kun is getting stronger, but he still needs to learn how to properly use his abilities~!"
[Pandora's killing intent flared again in Subaru's mind. "I swear, this clown will have a special place in the afterlife if he keeps this up."]
Subaru, sensing the rising hostility from his witches, sighed as he spoke in his mind. "Guys, guys… please. Let's not make today 'The Day Subaru Accidentally Becomes a Witch Cult Leader by Killing Roswaal'."
[Sekhmet yawned. "Mmm… sounds like effort, but I won't stop Pandora if she wants to 'accidentally' erase him."
Echidna added, "As his former teacher, I must say… bullying a student is unbecoming."]
Emilia then looked at Roswaal as she was frustrated. "As one of your students, bullying a student is unbecoming of a teacher".
Roswaal grinned. "Ohhh, but I am merely preparing Subaru-kun for what's to come~!"
Elsa smirked at Subaru. "Would you like me to… take care of him?"
Subaru immediately shook his head. "No. Nope. Absolutely not. No need for murder."
Meili pouted. "Boo…"
Ram walked past them again, now holding a teacup. "I am still ignoring everything happening here."
Subaru sighed, finally sitting up. "Fine. Let's just eat before this turns into a full-on assassination attempt."
Elsa handed him a plate, smirking. "For now."
Everyone then saw postal bird as it dropped a book as Emilia lap, as she realised her preorder has arrived as she ripped the packages in excitement as she was holding the Volume 2 of Naruto. "It is here".
Subaru looked at the book he wrote as he fainted ignorance. "Didn't Volume 2 just come a few horse ago".
Roswaal looked as he spoken, as he looked at Subaru with a knowing looks. "Preorder is an amazing things" .
As then magical gave Subaru a letter from the Publishing company, as they looked at eachother with a knowing looks of keeping Subaru Secret.
Emilia, too excited to notice the subtle exchange, flipped open the book and gasped. "It even has extra illustrations! Look at this scene of Naruto and Sasuke fighting!"
Beatrice, sitting beside her, peeked over curiously. "Hmph, I suppose the art quality is adequate."
Roswaal, still smirking, handed Subaru the letter. "It seeeems you have some fan mail, Subaru-kun~."
Subaru gulped and carefully opened it. Inside was a formal letter from the publishing company, praising the success of Naruto and requesting his manuscript for Volume 3.
"Wow, they really want me to work fast, huh…" Subaru muttered, rubbing his temple.
Pandora's voice rang in his head. "Of course they do, darling~. You created something new and exciting in this world. The people crave more."
Minerva huffed. "But don't overwork yourself! If you pass out, I swear I'll break your arm just to heal it again!"
Satella whispered gently. "We'll help you, Subaru… just take your time."
Meanwhile, Emilia, now completely absorbed in Volume 2, gasped loudly. "Wait, wait, wait—who is this Gaara guy?! And why does he look so scary?!"
Subaru chuckled nervously. "Oh yeah, you're in for a ride…"
Few hourse later Subaru was in Regis Company, as he was looking at the manuscript for Volume 3. "Damm this whole Volume is the moon kingdom arc".
Subaru looked as he spoken. "Will half thr Volume, the other two are Two Arc on Sasuke".
Ragis then looked at him as he spoke. "So this not finished yet".
Subaru sighed as he spoke. "No, but while I was working on Naruto, I had anothee story that I want you too check out".
He then gave him a different Manuscripts, as he saw the titled was "Shadow Slave"
Ragis raised an eyebrow as he examined the title. "Shadow Slave? This isn't related to Naruto, is it?"
Subaru shook his head. "Nope, this is a completely separate story. Something darker, grittier… a tale of survival, power, and the price one pays for strength."
Ragis flipped through the manuscript, his interest piqued. "Hmmm… this feels different from your usual writing style. It's more… mature."
Subaru smirked. "Well, I figured I'd try something new. Naruto is a long journey, but I wanted to see how a different kind of world would be received here."
Ragis leaned back in his chair, rubbing his chin. "Interesting. Naruto is already a massive hit, but if we introduce another series at the same time… this could be risky."
"Yeah," Subaru admitted, "but it could also be an opportunity. A story that's more intense, with different themes and struggles, could attract a whole new audience."
Ragis chuckled. "You really don't stop, do you? Alright, I'll have my editors go through it. If it's as good as Naruto, we might just have another bestseller on our hands."
Subaru grinned. "Great! In the meantime, I'll finish up Volume 3 of Naruto. Let me know what you think about Shadow Slave once you've read through it."
As he left the office, Subaru felt an odd sense of excitement. Naruto was already a success, but Shadow Slave? That was something different—something that could change how people saw him as a writer.
"Let's see if this world is ready for it…" he muttered to himself, stepping out into the streets of the capital.
As Subaru stepped out of Regis Company, he felt a cool breeze brush against his face. The streets of the capital were bustling with life, merchants calling out to potential customers, children running through the alleyways, and knights patrolling in their gleaming armor.
He adjusted the bag slung over his shoulder, which contained another copy of his manuscript. His mind was still buzzing with ideas, from completing Naruto: Volume 3 to refining Shadow Slave.
Just as he was about to make his way back to Roswaal's mansion, a familiar voice called out.
"Yo, Subaru! What are you doing here?"
He turned to see Julius Juukulius approaching with a casual smile. The knight of the Royal Guard was dressed in his usual pristine uniform, his light purple hair moving in the wind.
Subaru sighed. Great, it's the "Knight in Shining Armor" himself.
"Oh, just running some errands," Subaru said, trying to keep it vague.
Julius glanced at the bag. "That looks heavy. Are you carrying something important?"
Subaru smirked. "Just some light reading material. You wouldn't be interested."
Julius chuckled. "I take it this has something to do with that book everyone's been talking about? Naruto, was it?"
Subaru raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Even a noble knight like you is interested?"
Julius shrugged. "I haven't read it myself, but I've seen plenty of people carrying copies. It's making waves, that's for sure."
Subaru felt a surge of pride but kept his expression neutral. "Well, I do my best to entertain."
Julius gave a knowing smile. "Perhaps I should give it a read. After all, if someone like you wrote it, it must have an… interesting perspective."
Subaru rolled his eyes. "Oh, go ahead, Knight-boy. Maybe it'll teach you something about real warriors."
Julius chuckled again but didn't press the matter further. Instead, he looked around the busy streets before speaking. "By the way, have you heard? There have been some unusual reports coming from the slums."
Subaru tilted his head. "Unusual? How so?"
Julius's expression grew serious. "People have been disappearing. Not just the usual cases of crime, but entire households vanishing overnight. There are whispers of something unnatural at play."
A shiver ran down Subaru's spine. "Great. As if this world wasn't already full of enough nightmares."
Julius nodded. "I thought you might want to know, considering your tendency to be in the middle of strange situations."
Subaru sighed. "Fine, fine. I'll keep my ears open. But don't expect me to jump into danger just because you think I have a hero complex."
Julius smirked. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it."
With that, the knight turned and walked away, leaving Subaru alone in the crowded street.
As he watched Julius disappear into the crowd, Subaru muttered under his breath.
"Disappearances, huh? Guess I better be careful… things are never as simple as they seem."
With that, he made his way back to the mansion, unaware that his peaceful days were about to come to an abrupt end.
