Elsa then walked as she spoke. "From my point of view of what Subaru told, it was more like Subaru was in the heads up the whole fight, he might have won if the match went one".
Meili then spoke looking at Subaru. "Yeah, big sis is correct, Big Bro is Cool".
Subaru grinned at Meili's words, ruffling her hair playfully. "See? Finally, someone recognizes my true greatness!"
Elsa smirked. "It's not surprising. You fight more like an assassin than a knight. Julius was probably thrown off by your unpredictable moves."
Ram rolled her eyes. "That doesn't change the fact that the match ended in a draw, Barusu."
Subaru huffed. "Details, details. The point is, I put up a good fight!"
Roswaal chuckled. "Hooooh… well, if you're so confident, perhaps you should request a rematch. I'm sure Julius would be delighted to settle things properly."
Subaru rubbed his chin, considering it. "Maybe… but I still have some things to work on first."
Meili tilted her head. "Like what, Big Bro?"
Subaru smirked. "You'll see soon enough. Just know that next time, if I fight Julius again, there won't be a draw—only my victory!"
Elsa chuckled darkly. "Heh. I like that confidence."
Meanwhile, Fortuna, who had been listening nearby, pouted. "Big Brother will win next time, too!"
Emilia giggled. "Well, if Subaru does challenge him again, I'd love to watch."
Subaru stretched his arms behind his head. "No rush. I'm just taking things one step at a time."
As they continued walking through the capital, a thought crossed Subaru's mind—if he was going to challenge Julius again, he'd need to refine his techniques even further. He wasn't just aiming to win—he wanted to overwhelm him completely.
Reinhard was in the slum as he was Felt, with was other night ready too protect her, after all she is a Candidate to take the throne.
Reinhard walked too a place where a make shift house was, that has now desiperd. "It seems like Julius was right when said we should investigate the rumour".
Felt looked around as her old staying place, where she you used to fight tooth and nail every day, and now she is wearing a dress, with night holding and living in a Manchine, all because that Insignia reacted too her, as she looked sad for the other people
Reinhard noticed Felt's expression and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Do you regret it?" he asked, his voice calm but filled with understanding.
Felt clenched her fists. "Tch, it ain't about regret. It's just… I got outta here, but what about the rest of them?" She looked around the slums, now even worse than when she had lived there. People were missing. The ones that remained looked wary, their eyes hollow with exhaustion. "This place ain't just rough—it's getting worse."
One of the knights accompanying them, a man named Gareth, spoke up. "Rumors say people have been disappearing. Some say they ran away, others… they weren't so lucky."
Reinhard narrowed his eyes. "That's why we're here. We need to figure out what's happening."
Felt clicked her tongue. "I'll ask around. The people here trust me more than you fancy knights."
Reinhard nodded, knowing she was right. As Felt moved ahead, a shiver ran down her spine. Something about the air here felt… wrong. And she had a gut feeling that whatever was happening in the slums was only the beginning.
Felt looked as she spoke. "Do you think it is one of the Three Big Mabeast".
Reinhard looked at him as he spoke. "I don't think so The Whale hasn't been seen for decades, the white rabbit comes in back and don't make house desiper and the black is snakes.... Somewhere in the ocean's".
Felt crossed her arms. "Then what the hell could make a whole house just disappear?"
Reinhard looked around the area, his sharp eyes scanning for any traces of what could have happened. "It's possible that it was moved with magic, but for an entire house to vanish without a trace… that would take an enormous amount of power."
Gareth nodded. "There's been talk of strange figures wandering the slums at night. Some say they don't look human."
Felt frowned. "That ain't normal. I remember every lowlife and crook that used to run these streets. If something new's creeping around here, someone's gotta know."
Reinhard placed a hand on his sword hilt. "Then let's start asking."
As the group began moving deeper into the slums, the eerie silence of the once-busy streets weighed on them. Something was happening here—something unnatural.
Reinhard then saw someone, as he moved and hit his sword, as his sword was blocked by another one
"Hey Chill out Reinhard it is me".
He got a good luck and saw it was Halibal. "Halibal what are you doing here".
Halibal put his sword down showing the Volume 2 of Naruto. "Two things, one Exploring Lugunica, seeing all the corners of even this place and second still tracking down the writer of this book".
Reinhard lowered his sword, eyeing Halibel with curiosity. "You're still searching for the author of Naruto?"
Halibel nodded. "Yeah. The way this story is written… It's too detailed, too precise. Whoever wrote this knows more than they should. I have a feeling they aren't just some ordinary storyteller."
Felt smirked, crossing her arms. "You seriously think some random author is hiding in the slums?"
Halibel shrugged. "You never know. Lugunica is full of mysteries."
Reinhard, still serious, glanced around. "While your search is interesting, we're here for something else. A whole house disappeared from this area without a trace. Have you seen anything strange?"
Halibel raised an eyebrow. "A whole house? Can't say I have, but…" He paused, thinking. "Now that you mention it, I did hear something weird. People say shadows have been moving on their own. At first, I thought it was just rumors, but if a house vanished too…"
Reinhard's grip on his sword tightened. "Shadows moving on their own… That doesn't sound like normal magic."
Felt scowled. "Great. So, we've got ghost stories and disappearing houses. What's next, a talking fox?"
Halibel chuckled. "Wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've seen in this world."
Reinhard looked at the slums once more, feeling a sense of unease settle in his chest. Something was happening here. And whatever it was, it wasn't normal.
Gareth then spoke Looking at them. "I don't feel right".
Reinhard looked at him as he spoke. "What do you mean by that".
Gareth looked at Reinhard and Halibal. "Two of the strongest people of our world are in the same place, one from Kararagi and from Lugunica at this specific time, almost like the world it self is making sure as many people are here for something".
Reinhard and Halibel exchanged glances, the weight of Gareth's words settling in.
"You think this is fate?" Halibel asked, gripping the hilt of his sword. "I don't really believe in destiny, but… I've had this gut feeling too. Like something big is about to happen."
Reinhard nodded. "I understand what you mean. Coincidences like this don't happen often. If both of us are here—along with Felt and the rest—it may not be by chance."
Felt scoffed. "Well, whatever it is, I'd rather not wait around for disaster to come knocking." She turned to Reinhard. "What's the plan, oh great Sword Saint?"
Before Reinhard could answer, the ground trembled. A low, eerie hum filled the air, and the shadows cast by the ruined buildings around them started stretching unnaturally.
Gareth immediately took a defensive stance. "This… This isn't normal."
Halibel's eyes narrowed. "No, it isn't." He unsheathed his sword, his instincts screaming at him to prepare for battle.
Reinhard stepped forward, his sword gleaming. "Everyone, stay alert. We don't know what we're dealing with yet, but be ready for anything."
Then, from the deepest part of the slums, a figure emerged from the shifting darkness. Their presence was suffocating, an overwhelming aura of something not quite human.
Felt gritted her teeth. "Oh, great. What the hell is that?"
As the figure stepped into the dim light, their glowing crimson eyes locked onto Reinhard and Halibel. A smirk curled on their lips.
"I was wondering when you'd all show up," the figure said, voice dripping with amusement. "Shall we begin?"
Reinhard then came Infront and so did Halibal, as Reinhard looked at Gareth. "Gareth take Felt and Run, all of you run".
One of the Knight grabbed felt as they put her on his back. "Sorry miss felt".
As they started too run, as they ran as fast as possible as then Reinhard made a shield, as then a way do darkness only hit the Both of them.
"Gasp".
Subaru woke in the Roswaal Machine, as he looked at the night sky. "What was that".
[Echidna then spoke in his mind. "We all felt that as well"
Daphne then spoke. "You gotta be kidding how is he Alive I killed when I made that him".
Typhon then spoke. "You mean the Mabeast of Black spoke the one you made as prototype of all the other are back"]
Subaru sat up abruptly, his body covered in a cold sweat. He had experienced Return by Death countless times, but this was different. He didn't die—at least, not physically. This was something else, something unnatural.
His mind was racing as he listened to the Witches.
"Wait, wait, wait," Subaru muttered, rubbing his temples. "Daphne, you're saying that thing was a prototype of all the other Mabeasts?"
[Daphne giggled, her voice disturbingly sweet. "Yep! Before the Whale, the Rabbit, and the Snake, there was one other. But I scrapped it because it was… well, let's just say it was too much trouble~"]
[Echidna sighed. "By 'too much trouble,' she means it was so powerful that even she couldn't control it properly."]
Subaru felt his stomach drop. "And now it's back?"
[Typhon sounded unusually serious. "Not just back. It's awake. And if Reinhard and Halibel couldn't stop it, that means it's stronger than before."]
Subaru clenched his fists. "Great. Just when I thought things were calming down…"
He stood up, pacing. He needed information. He needed answers. And more than anything—
"I need to get to the capital."
Minerva's voice rang out in his mind. "You better not be thinking of rushing in alone!"
Subaru smirked. "I'd never be that reckless."
The Witches went silent.
Subaru sighed. "Okay, maybe I would, but not this time!"
If something strong enough to shake the world had awakened, then he needed to be ready. He wasn't the same weakling as before—he had power, abilities, and allies.
He had no choice. He had to prepare. Because whatever was coming…
It was going to change everything.
The next day, the entire world was shaken.
Newspapers were sold out within minutes, and rumors spread like wildfire.
[MISSING]
The front page displayed the pictures of Reinhard van Astrea and Halibel—two of the strongest warriors in the world. Their last known location? The slums of Lugunica.
The article detailed how they had gone to investigate a strange disappearance and were never seen again. Witnesses claimed to have seen a massive wave of darkness engulf the area before they vanished.
Panic set in across the kingdom.
"If even Reinhard is missing… what chance do we have?"
"What could possibly defeat the Sword Saint?"
"Kararagi is already mobilizing a search party for Halibel… What if this is a war declaration?"
Subaru sat in Roswaal's mansion, gripping the newspaper tightly. His heart pounded as he read the article over and over again.
This wasn't just some random event.
This was a disaster.
Echidna's voice whispered in his mind. "Now do you see the gravity of the situation?"
Subaru's hands trembled. Reinhard and Halibel weren't just strong—they were near invincible.
And yet…
They were gone.
Meanwhile, in a different place—somewhere that shouldn't exist—both Reinhard and Halibel stood back to back, surrounded by writhing, shadowy creatures. The air was thick, almost suffocating, as if reality itself had been rewritten.
Reinhard sliced through the creatures effortlessly, his sword glowing with divine light. Yet, no matter how many he cut down, more of them slithered out of the endless darkness.
Halibel, dual blades in hand, exhaled sharply as he cut through another incoming monster. "First of all, Reinhard, where the hell are we?! And second, thanks for your Divine Blessings saving us, but what exactly happened back there?!"
Reinhard narrowed his eyes, blocking another attack. "I don't know… But whatever this place is, it's not part of our world."
Halibel clicked his tongue. "A fake world, huh? A prison? A domain? Damn it, this feels like something out of one of those weird stories in the books I've been reading." He looked around, then at Reinhard. "Think we can break out?"
Reinhard tightened his grip on his sword. "If there's a way in, there's a way out."
But as soon as he spoke, the darkness shifted—and something emerged.
A figure, neither beast nor man, shrouded in pure black mist. It had no face, no distinguishable features, but its presence alone sent a chill down their spines.
And then, it spoke.
"Ah… the Sword Saint… and the Blades of Kararagi…"
The voice echoed unnaturally, like a whisper crawling into their very minds.
"Welcome… to my domain."*
Reinhard then spoke Looking at the Voice. "What are you and why did you bring us here".
"I am called the black smoke, for why I brought you too here, simple I can't kill you, you two would destroy me, so I decided to trap you here while I do my, now I omy need too find the other 3".
Reinhard kept his sword raised, his sharp blue eyes analyzing every movement of the formless entity before him. "The other three?"
Halibel frowned, gripping his blades tighter. "Let me guess, you're not just after us, huh?"
The entity chuckled—a distorted, unnatural sound. "Of course not. There are five who stand as the greatest obstacles to my plan. Two are already here. The others… well, I'll find them soon enough."
Reinhard's grip tightened. "And what exactly is your plan?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" The Black Smoke's form wavered, as if amused. "But you're in no position to stop it. You're trapped here… and by the time you figure out a way out, it'll already be too late."*
Halibel scoffed. "Tch, bold words. But I don't plan on playing prisoner in your creepy little void forever."
The creature didn't reply. Instead, the shadows around them shifted, forming countless grotesque creatures—each one more twisted than the last.
"Then let's see how long you can last."*
The monsters lunged.
Reinhard and Halibel moved instantly, meeting them head-on with steel and skill, cutting through them like they were nothing.
But no matter how many they struck down, more kept coming.
And somewhere beyond the veil of darkness, the Black Smoke watched, waiting.
Meanwhile in the royal court of Lugunica, all the Royal candidates and there whole camp was summond, as shown was all knight of Lugunica, this was emergency meeting of the highest level.
The Royal Court of Lugunica was in chaos. The atmosphere inside the grand hall was tense, thick with worry and uncertainty. All five royal candidates—Emilia, Priscilla, Crusch, Anastasia, and Felt—stood at the center of the gathering, each surrounded by their respective knights and advisors.
The highest-ranking knights of Lugunica lined the room, their expressions grim. The disappearance of Reinhard and Halibel had sent shockwaves through the kingdom.
At the front of the hall, an elder noble slammed his hand on the table. "This is unprecedented! Two of the strongest knights in the world have vanished without a trace! If even they can be taken, then what does that mean for the rest of us?!"
"Calm yourself," came the commanding voice of Marcus, one of the senior knights. "Panic will not solve this. We must determine the nature of this threat and act accordingly."
"Do we have any leads?" Crusch asked, her sharp gaze sweeping the room. "What enemy could possibly abduct both Reinhard and Halibel?"
[Insert Image Of Crusch]
"We have no answers yet," Julius admitted, his usual confidence replaced by frustration. "But this is no ordinary disappearance. Both of them were last seen investigating the slums before vanishing in a sudden surge of darkness."
"A surge of darkness…" Emilia murmured, concern in her violet eyes. She exchanged a glance with Subaru, who was standing behind her. He had been silent, deep in thought.
"That's not all," Russell Fellow, the merchant representative, spoke up. "Strange sightings have been reported throughout Lugunica. Shadows moving unnaturally, people disappearing… Something is happening."
Anastasia's expression darkened. "Then it's not just Reinhard and Halibel. This might be part of something bigger."
Felt clenched her fists. "Then we should stop sitting around and do something about it!"
"Agreed," Crusch said. "But we need a plan. If this enemy could take down Reinhard, then we cannot afford to act recklessly."
"Then let's start by figuring out what we're dealing with," Subaru finally spoke, his voice serious. "If this is connected to the Black Serpent or something worse, we need to know before it's too late."*
Silence fell over the court as all eyes turned to Subaru.
And in that moment, they all understood—this was the beginning of something far more dangerous than any of them had anticipated.
