The Hunt Begins

Morning arrived with an eerie stillness. The air was thick with tension as the combined forces of Lugunica prepared for battle. Soldiers, mercenaries, and knights moved in disciplined formations, their armor clanking as they made final preparations.

Subaru stood near the Flugel Tree, overseeing the final checks. The Witch's Hand members, disguised as Kararagi mercenaries, blended in with the other forces. Everything was going according to plan—at least for now.

Wilhelm approached him, his gaze sharp as ever. "We move at sundown. The White Whale will appear once the mist thickens. Have you made all your preparations?"

Subaru smirked. "Of course. We're going to humiliate this thing."

Wilhelm nodded. "As long as it dies, I don't care how you do it."

Anastasia and Crusch soon joined them. "Everything is in place," Crusch confirmed. "All troops have been briefed, and our formation is set."

Anastasia grinned. "Let's see if your fancy plan actually works, Barusu."

Subaru sighed. "Have some faith, will you?"

The battlefield was silent.

Then, the mist rolled in.

A low, otherworldly groan echoed through the fog, sending a chill down the spines of the gathered soldiers. Then, the silhouette of the White Whale emerged, its massive form drifting through the sky like a ghostly god.

The battle had begun.

"Launch the first wave!" Subaru commanded.

Ballistae fired enchanted spears, mages chanted spells, and archers let loose a volley of arrows infused with anti-magic properties. Explosions lit up the sky as the first strikes hit the White Whale's hide.

It roared in pain, thrashing in response. The battlefield erupted into chaos.

Wilhelm led the vanguard, his blade flashing as he leaped toward the monster. Crusch and Julius followed suit, their movements swift and precise.

Meanwhile, Subaru activated a hidden mechanism—a set of floating runic projectors deployed from the Witch's Hand forces.

"Time to break its legend," Subaru muttered.

The sky lit up as the runes activated, forming a giant sigil above the battlefield. Suddenly, the mist that the White Whale used to conceal itself was blown away, leaving it exposed for all to see.

Anastasia smirked. "Oh? That's interesting."

Crusch's eyes widened. "What did you do?"

Subaru grinned. "Just made sure it can't hide anymore. Now, let's have some fun."

The real hunt had begun.

Subaru then spoke. "Remember, don't get attacked by the Mist".

Roswaal floated up in the air, as he summoned many MagicaCirclesle, then he sent all types of spells sending it back, as then Archer in the ground as they started to fire more arrows but then thin, the White Whale Roar in his high way, everyone was sent back.

Shaule jumped in the air, her silver hair flowed in the Wind. "Dragg".

Then a Yang Magic Circle came up, and it started to drag the White Whale into the ground, as she smirked.

Julius looked as he spoke. "What did you do?".

She looked at me as she spoke. "Just uses my Yang Magic to make the light of the moon heavier in the area of the White Whale so it can't be dragged down into the ground".

Felix then spoke blinking. "Nya that makes Zero sense".

Subaru then spoke as he caster Inferno on the white whale. "Magic makes no sense in the first place".

The battle raged on, the sky illuminated by spells and the glow of enchanted weapons. The White Whale thrashed violently, trying to break free from the oppressive force dragging it down.

Roswaal, floating high above, laughed in amusement. "Oooh, how delightful~! But let's add some more flare to this performance, shall we?" He conjured another wave of spells, hurling bolts of lightning and spheres of compressed wind at the struggling beast.

BOOM! The attacks struck true, causing the White Whale to shriek in pain.

Meanwhile, Wilhelm moved with lethal precision, slashing through the creature's flesh, fueled by decades of vengeance. His blade sang as it carved through the mist-born beast.

Subaru wiped sweat from his forehead. "Alright, we're doing good, but we need to end this before it calls its clones!"

Just as he finished speaking, the air grew unnaturally cold.

A second roar echoed through the sky.

Subaru's face darkened. "Shit. Speak of the devil."

Above them, two more White Whales materialized from the mist. The battlefield erupted into renewed chaos.

Julius gritted his teeth. "They're here!"

Anastasia sighed, shaking her head. "Well, ain't this a pain?"

Subaru took a deep breath, gripping Witch's Edge tightly. The Sin System had given him a ridiculous mission, but he had no intention of failing.

"Fine. If one wasn't enough, then we'll just kill all three."

Subaru then let his hand down as he used [Invisible Providence] then he fired his Magic then 1000 Invisible arms came out and started to drag one for the white whale down, as then Emilia jumped up, as then caster a Giant ice Spike at the whale, as it screamed as it let out a mist from all 3 sides.

Subaru then spoke. "Run".

Subaru then coughed blood as he spoke in his mind. "The hell".

[Sekhmet then spoke in his head. "My Authority has not fully fused with your soul, you over passed the limit, but since you did"]

Ding!

[Invincible Providence (30%) → (40%)]

[Sekhmet then spoke with a bit of a Yawn. "Now 1 thousand arms won't be a problem]

Subaru then used Yin Step and Yang Travel and grabbed Emilia and Cursch as they made out of the way of the mist.

Halibal ran with Shaule as they made their way, and then they saw the many nights got absorbed by the mist.

Halibal spoke. "Shit... Wait we remember them".

Shale looked at the Rubik's Cube Piece around her neck. "He needs to explain what is this shit, he gave to the top members of the Witch Hand".

Halibal spoke with a chuckle. "Yeah, first we get to see Betelgeuse Invisible Arm, now this".

Subaru then looked at Emilia. "Emilia try and Free one of the White Whale as much as you can".

Emilia then looked as he spoke. "I um Ok".

Subaru looked at Roswaal, and he nodded; as he activated his Ice spell, they both sent a powerful Blizzard. It hit one of the White Whale Clones, and it screamed; Subaru used [Invisible Providence] again, ready to drag the whale, but it was not easy.

Subaru then took a deep breath as he used [Shadow Manipulation] and [Light Manipulation]. Satella's spirit came to his right and Minerva to his left, and then they put their hands on his back.

[Minerva spoke in his head. "Hey, what are you planning"]

Subaru then started to charge his own Yin and Yang Magic. "Creating a new spell".

[Satella spoke in his head. "Wait what do you me-".]

Subaru then, On his left, the shadow moved and on the right, the light started to shine, as Subaru spoke. "Dual Dragon Attack".

Then Two Chinese Dragon Heads came out, one made out of Shadow and One Made out of Light. They bit into the clone and started to drag it onto the ground as he then screamed. "Julius, Whilhelm Now!".

Julius and Wilhelm didn't need to be told twice.

Wilhelm shot forward like a vengeful storm, his blade gleaming under the moonlight. "For my wife—DIE!" With a mighty slash, he cut through the White Whale's hide, blood spraying across the battlefield.

Julius followed up, his swordplay elegant yet deadly. Using his spirit arts, he danced through the air, his strikes landing with pinpoint accuracy. "This ends now!" He slashed through one of the White Whale's glowing eyes, causing it to thrash wildly.

The Dual Dragon Attack continued to drag the beast down, pinning it against the earth.

Subaru clenched his fists, his arms trembling. "Come on... just a little more!"

The battlefield was chaos—Roswaal continued bombarding the remaining whales with relentless magic, while the surviving knights regrouped, trying to recover from the mist's devastating effect.

Emilia, seeing her chance, raised her hands, her silver hair flowing in the blizzard winds. "I'll finish this!" She conjured a massive spear of ice, channeling her mana to its absolute limit. The spear glowed an ethereal blue before she hurled it with all her might.

CRACK!

The spear impaled the White Whale's heart.

The beast let out a deafening shriek, thrashing in its final moments before its massive body collapsed, lifeless.

Silence.

Then, cheers erupted across the battlefield. The knights roared in victory. The first clone was dead.

But Subaru didn't celebrate. His breathing was ragged. His body was exhausted.

He looked up at the other two White Whales still in the sky.

"One down. Two to go."

Halibal went I him as he spoke. "So what now, that dragon attacked again".

Subaru looked at his arm, which felt like it was on fire. "Not now, need time, Everyone dragg the other two to The Tree".

Wilhelm, despite the victory, was already moving. "You heard him! Push forward!"

The knights rallied, regrouping to drive the remaining two White Whales toward the Flugel Tree.

Halibel cracked his knuckles, his sharp teeth glinting in the moonlight. "Alright, you crazy bastard. You get your rest. We'll handle the muscle work."

Subaru, breathing heavily, leaned against a boulder, his body still reeling from the recoil of his new spell. His left arm was trembling, the veins glowing faintly with residual Yin and Yang magic. "Damn... I overdid it again."

[Minerva spoke in his head. "Overdid it? You nearly tore your own arm apart! I'm not fixing that again!"]

[Sekhmet yawned. "Mmm... That was reckless, but impressive. Try not to die, though."]

Subaru rolled his eyes but focused back on the battle.

Roswaal and Julius led the charge, blasting the sky with magic and spirit-enhanced sword strikes. Shaula positioned herself at a vantage point, using her Yang Magic to weigh the White Whales down, making it harder for them to maneuver.

The battle was shifting.

Subaru grit his teeth. "We have to finish this before that mist spreads too much."

He took a deep breath, summoning his remaining strength.

The final phase of the hunt had begun.

Everyone started to run, as Subaru was on his Ground Dragon, as he was using [Wrathful Compassion] as he started to heal himself, but thanks to the side effects, he was feeling his damage from rrb Authority.

[Minerva spoke in his head as the spirit hugged him. "Sorry, I wish my Authority didn't make you feel the pain person you heal"]

Subaru spoke in his mind as he chuckled. "I don't blame you for anything".

As they ran to the Flugle tree, Subaru looked at Crusch. "I will let you lead the Charge".

Crusch was surprised as she looked at him. "Thanks".

Crusch then stopped as she spoke. "Halibal, Wilhelm, and Julius attack the whale, and Roswaal, Emilia, Shaule, and Knight Cover them. Mercenaries from Kararagi try and protect people from the mist, keep recording, and the other half, cover the rest".

Subaru then looked at Rem, who had been attacking the white whale all this time; he also looked at Ram. "Rem and Ram, I need you two to do something extremely well. The way to explain this is Blasphemy".

Ran spoke Looking at him. "What do you mean Barusu".

Subaru then spoke. "When one the whales comes near the Flugle Tree, cut it!".

Ram narrowed her eyes. "Cut the Flugel Tree?"

Rem hesitated, gripping her morning star tightly. "Subaru-kun, are you sure?"

Subaru nodded, his expression firm. "The Flugel Tree is no ordinary tree. It's a boundary marker, a relic of incredible power. If we cut a piece of it at the right time, we might be able to trap the White Whales or weaken them enough to finish them off."

[Echidna spoke in his head. "A fascinating theory... but how do you know it will work?"]

[Sekhmet yawned. "Mmm... the brat's instincts are sharp. I'd say it's worth the risk."]

Subaru exhaled. "I don't know for sure. But we don't have a better option. If we fail, the mist will consume us all."

Ram scoffed, crossing her arms. "Hmph. You are fortunate that Roswaal ordered me to listen to you. Fine, Barusu. I'll do it."

Rem nodded, determination burning in her eyes. "If Subaru-kun believes in this plan, then I'll do my best!"

Subaru grinned. "That's what I like to hear."

Meanwhile, Wilhelm and Julius launched precise strikes at one of the remaining White Whales, their blades cutting through its thick hide. Halibel surged forward, his monstrous strength shaking the battlefield as he slammed his fists into the beast, forcing it closer to the tree.

Roswaal and Emilia unleashed a combined barrage of fire and ice magic, creating a storm of elements that disoriented the massive creature.

The battle was nearing its climax.

Subaru tightened his grip on the reins of his Ground Dragon, his mind racing. "This is it… one last push."

[Satella then spoke in his head. "You do release you basically did the highest level of Blasphemy in the Kingdom, lucky for you, sense it is the White Whale, everyone will look away from this"]

Subaru chuckled bitterly in his mind. "Yeah, lucky me."

[Minerva sighed. "Seriously, do you always have to gamble with things like this?"]

[Echidna smirked. "Oh, but that's what makes it interesting, doesn't it?"]

Subaru ignored them, watching as Ram and Rem stood at the ready near the Flugel Tree, their weapons poised. The White Whale roared, the wounds it had sustained making it more desperate. The mist swirled around it like a vengeful storm, but the battlefield had already been set.

Crusch raised her sword. "Everyone, this is the final push! Don't hold back!"

Wilhelm, Julius, and Halibel attacked in perfect coordination, forcing the White Whale closer and closer to the tree. Roswaal and Emilia unleashed another wave of magic, sealing its path of escape.

Subaru gritted his teeth as he activated [Invisible Providence], using his phantom arms to push against the massive beast. His entire body screamed in pain, but he didn't stop. "Now, Ram! Rem!"

With synchronized precision, the twin maids unleashed their magic-infused strikes. Ram's wind magic-enhanced slash and Rem's full-powered morning star smashed into the Flugel Tree.

A massive crack echoed across the battlefield.

A chunk of the legendary tree broke off and crashed down onto the White Whale, pinning it in place. The beast let out a deafening shriek as the power within the tree fragment disrupted the mist surrounding it.

Wilhelm's eyes flashed with determination. "This is for my wife!"

With a final, decisive slash, Wilhelm's sword pierced the White Whale's core, silencing its cries forever.

The battlefield went silent.

The White Whale was dead.

Subaru collapsed to one knee, panting. "Holy crap… that actually worked."

[Satella whispered softly. "You always surprise me, Subaru."]

He let out a shaky laugh. "Yeah… even I surprise myself sometimes."
